Escape From Tarkov dev reverses course on limited-time PvE access
A new Battlestate Games open letter on the EFT Unheard Edition is offering all EoD owners the offline PvE mode for free forever at launch. Battlestate Games will now offer all Escape From Tarkov Edge of Darkness Edition owners the new PvE game mode with persistent progression for free at launch with no six-month window. The offline co-op mode was originally advertised as exclusive to the newly revealed EFT Unheard Edition, before player backlash saw Battlestate offer this new mode to EoD owners for a limited time, with all owners now getting indefinite free playtime at launch after a premium early access period.
A brand new statement from Battlestate Games COO Nikita Buyanov published to the Escape From Tarkov Reddit on Saturday April 27 aims to clarify the situation, while further changing who will be given the upcoming offline PvE mode. Players can gain early access to the new FPS game mode at a steep discount, but the full launch will be free for all.
“We observe your dissatisfaction and have decided that the functionality of the PvE mode will be available for free to all owners of the EoD version at the release of the game, when the server infrastructure will be improved to the required capacity,” Buyanov writes. - Hry
Has a lawsuit been filed yet? If not, it's coming. Someone will go after them for this. I don't give a crap about this game, never even heard of it, but I hope the companies involved get kicked in the balls for trying to rip off players.

Yeah but the fuckd up part is that even unreleased with it's stupid fog (need to go), bugs and cheaters it still provides an unmatched experience.
It's kind of like doing drugs. Finishing physco sniper, setup, the guide or killer 7 or just surviving a crazy raid or fighting the goons for the first time, getting a 500 m snipe on lighthouse or getting swarmed by scavs and being low on bullets. There's hundreds of things like that which is why ppl put in over 10k hours and still don't see everything.

If they own ot or still want to buy it I'll gladly help them get to a point where they have upgrades stash and with what quests (like punisher) to do so they don't need to give bsg any more money than necessary.

They actually delivered the actual meaning of "The Unheard Edition" since something this stupid was unheard of before. In all honesty, a PVE mode should be a free update to any online game assuming that they plan on doing one.

95$ was after they got rid of the EOD (Edge Of Darkness) edition.
EOD was $150 in December 2023... Then went away and the highest edition was then only the LEFT BEHIND edition for 95$

The PVE mode isn't offline. It runs on their live servers. And so hackers have figured out how to invade the PVE mode and end up killing the players who paid $250 to be playing alone. What a mess! 😂
The majority of players paid $150 for EOD. I have 5300 hrs in this game. It is a good game, but it’s still in beta despite coming out in 2016, full of bugs that they seem wholly incompetent to address, has a cheating problem, and the devs are tone deaf af. This crap going on is nuts, and it’s getting old.
Just to clarify:
EOD owners who paid upwards of $150 before taxes were being asked to pay $100 more for this edition, when the edition we already had came with season pass.
Entry level players would be asked to pay $250 before taxes.

No, I wouldn’t. However, had they literally just made the edition a “supporters edition” that just came with the blue check mark alone, no one would have batted an eye. Most EOD owners would have gladly got it, myself included, eventually. Almost as if it’s not about the money. Doesn’t matter though, they sold EOD with season pass, that comes with every subsequent DLC, full stop, no matter what sort of hours, or COD spent per year argument you’re about to regurgitate. The game is played online, if they want recurring sales like that, then they need to release EFT 2, but since this game hasn’t even reached 1.0, something tells me they aren’t gonna do that. If they made skins, maybe patches or spray paint patterns for your armors, gloves, more clothes, face camo, stuff that doesnt impact skillset/PVP in any way, they could make their money, easily.

Its a way more expensive Fallout 1st. They made a good ass game, and that's where the greed comes in. Now that they've made a great game, lets see how far we can push gamers. And this is why i always play SP games, they're not exclued either, but its less stressful than playing online/MP games.

It's such a shame that such shameless devs created tarkov. Tarkov is an amazing game but is ruined by devs that seem to only care about money.
Some of the issues that Tarkov has now, are the exact same issues it faced on release.
At the end of the day it is their game and they can do what they want but they can't expect people to not be very disappointed with these decisions.

they do it now for full price because SPT/SiT already give the choice to play coop pve with a little mod even with the smallest version of tarkov... they have lot of good mods for waypoint randomness and weather changes, bot Ai ,hud fov and so many others... BSG are so angry because they want the control over everything... everyone should know about de spt/sit mod

How does a game lie?
Games like tarkov are weird because youre essentially buying into it. Like how people do with star citizen but not really because that game is just something different entirely. Tarkov is busted because of the cheating issues. And in a game like tarkov, cheating breaks the game and sucks every bit of fun out of it

This is coming from a kind of clueless position and outdated before the video was uploaded... But it is very validly the image they are putting out with all this drama making people say "I just don't want to get involved".
Admittedly drama sells so everyone will act peak mad for a minute or two. It will expand to people who have no clue what going on and there will be some whisper down the alley. Then company will give into (already basically has) everyone's demands but it won't be worthy of news. The internet will then forget to be mad in two weeks and play the next Tarkov wipe in a month. 😂

It would be hilarious if their player base dwindles down to nothing after this. That's what should happen. I doubt it does though.
