the track behind her is too loud. her voice is already “small” as it is, the least they could do is turn her mic up. she’s hitting the notes as well, it’s not like she’s off-pitch

The backtrack is for when she is done with dances break. She has asthma, so it is hard for her to catch her breath after dancing.
I just saw another live performance of hers and they had her live vocals heavily being pitched an pulled and stretched everywhere. I came here to see if she actually can't sing an is some kind of nepo baby and she definitely can! Either she, or her team, needs to have a lot more confidence in vocals. Too much is too much and it's overshadowing her natural talent.

tate is like a modern day mix of younger christina and britney but current and with her own special flair as the cherry on top. i haven't seen another solo popstar of this generation whose performances hit like hers, in my opinion. she's special.

I'm 58 years old and I can see the stardom in her! She is well past her age! She is an incredible performer and so real at the same time.
She's such a stunning performer. The low notes she writes into her songs seem very difficult for her to sing live, hopefully she adjusts songs for her range in her future work.

I love Tate McRaes voice but she does need to sing more instead of singing parts and having the studio voice sing the rest. she could make such a big impact if she did I wish to see more from her
This has become such a plague in the industry that I'm almost certain they're being directed that this is the way they should do it by the people in charge. Way too many young talents who clearly have the toolset do it even when it sounds like utter dogshit. Playback is fine to have a few words break, but 'thickening' vocals by playback that is 3 times louder than the artist is not. If they're going to insist on this, turn the volume down or employ some backup vocalists...

Not only the asthma, it sounds like the backing track is extremely loud. She already has a soft ish sounding voice and with her probably having to sing louder, it changes her pitch, probably hurts her voice. Not only that, there's super loud guitar at times 😅

Why is she not dancing as much here? Her dancing is iconic and there was minimum moves here, it really brought down the overall performance.
Because if she dances then people critizes her because she doesnt sing enough or they say she lipsyncs
she can have dance breaks if thats what she wanna do, thats a fair compromise imo, but normally people like to hear their favorite singers sings, you know.. so i think thats why she focuses more on the singing now. her team listens to the people, which is great!
Something to know about dancing while singing is that it actually does take a lot of energy to do, even if it’s not a huge dance number to do….even like 5-6 steps can be a lot. Even some of the most professional or at least famous singers have to slow it down if they do a dance while singing because it takes up so much energy.
It probably wears her out a little too much and then she can't sing. That's what was happening at the end of exes.

It's a shame she relies so heavily on a backing track. It's like: 80% recorded vocals, 20% live vocals. She should have background singers or try to accommodate the choreography so she can shine vocally.
