Capcom should certainly hire someone to work on the game’s presentation and UI. I’ve never played such a confusing game, right down to bizarre button mappings crowded HUD and sluggish controls.
even as a veteran this was a fantastic and informative video helping not only introduce the game to newcomers but also to bridge the gap between previous titles and World. My only gripe with this video is that I can't hear you clearly, Alex, over all this HYPU

Spoony Pizzas tips? hmm. i think, find a weapon you like and stick with it. learn everything about how it moves and where you want to prioritise a monster with it. then, after you get a feel for monster hunter as a game, start to branch out with other weapons. its tough now to say things when this game does a great job (from the looks of things) of explaining most of the important things.. maybe if you had more specific questions? i guess a few general tips, you can roll cancel potions so when you see the white fully replaced by green you dont need to wait for the final visual effect of the heal, simply roll cancel it. oh, actually, something people mix up is what Affinity represents. ive seen a lot of people view it as either a damage increase or decrease sometimes and thats not quite accurate. What affinity means is that if its a positive value, say, 30, that means you have a 30% chance to deal extra damage (typically 1.5 times iirc but it may have changed in world) and conversely (although i believe its no longer a thing in world) a negative affinity is a chance to deal reduced damage. so -30 affinity would be 30% chance to deal about 0.5 times your regular damage.

I'm really looking forward to the aspect of being able to capture creatures with your slinger net and keep them as a semi pet. I saw quite a few monsters during the beta that I would love to see chilling in my house
I remember when I first brought the game on PS2... The memories. I didn't know to craft and only brought shops from the weapons until about rank 3 where I realized that you could upgrade them haha

I go online and im lvl 4 and everyone else is lvl 145. I think I missed the boat.
Ive been playing MH since the first and let me tell you level doesn't matter, there are some serious noobs who constantly die despite being extremely high ranked. Usually the endgame of monster hunter games wrecks everyone equally regardless of gear or level.

souw i am interested in the Heavy Bowgun...the Shield on it to be Exact... does it Block Random or if i am aiming ? how exactly does the Shield on the Bowgun work ?
Robse not an expert with bowguns but I think you can block em as long as you face the monster's attacks and and to not shoot if you're trying to block the attack
In order for the heavy bowgun's shield to work, either stand still and face the monster attacking you (without doing anything but standing) or move around (again don't do anything, but move). As soon as you see the monster facing you and telegraphing an attack, stop shooting it and just face it until it's done attacking you. Blocking won't work: if you reload, shoot or consume an item, while the monster is attacking you.
Ghost Geist it used to be that the shield didn't block directly in front of you either, though that's changed. The previous challenge was getting the right angle towards the monster to block so it created a slightly more active block style.

It surprises me that to this day Monster Hunter : World still gets new players who are only just now picking up World as an introduction to the series, or much more rarely to see what World was about after skipping out on it. It's like seeing completely new players on games like Garden Warfare 2 & Battlefield 1, and how even though those games (and those similar to them) are years old now, they still get a good amount of fresh players coming in, either to get introduced to the series/franchise or to see for themselves why the games are praised so much by the community.
I have a pc so I only have to wait till the end of the year. Ha ha.... it’s okay.... I’m not sad..... I can just play dauntless until it comes out .... dauntless is delayed too? Well shit

Spoony Pizzas its up to you, but I suggest you try other weapons as well. Bow is good but not in all situations particularly for small agile creatures such as kirin which makes aiming very difficult
Nibilengunlied Guruworkushimzen thanks mate, but I was once a World Champion of a famous FPS, so aiming isn't difficult for me. The only thing I dislike is that I deselect auto aim, and select invert controls...but as soon as I aim, the controls are reverted to normal... surely a bug?
Spoony Pizzas you may have to invert bow aiming if that's even an option. And I'd suggest finding a melee weapon you like, as being a bow user or bow gun user can be expensive to buy ammo or even buy materials to craft extra ammo in the field. If that's something you'll enjoy from start to finish then go for it. (You always have infinite ammo for the weakest normal arrows, but stronger arrows you'll have to buy/craft)
Thanks dude, I can invert the aim, thankfully! Some great info there mate. When I hit the monster I seemed/looked to regenerate special ammo.... is that normal? Is it best to save the special ammo until towards the end of a fight or just unload and make the shots count early?... or is there no difference? Are there any weak spots that I should be aiming at?
Yes head and generally tails and wings are optimal and deal alot more if you are looking at bow as a main weapon you should check out gaijins vids on crit distance and stuff

Yes careful went rushing... Now im not sure but before MHW many rusher came to hunt on a half ass Armor... That bad dude... TAKE UR TIME TO FINISH UP UR ARMOR and WEAPON before joining to hunt big games...

Bryanneo1 Skill part yes u right... But what if u hunt HR RATHALOS and just this one guys using LR armor and not fully upgrade at that... All other hard work got CART on him just because he got pock by Rathalos and cart not even a hit just a pock... Then it become a bit of a problem there...

Bryanneo1 Yes that is it they rushing... At least finish UPGRADE the low rank armor then other will feel ok helping u up ur armor in high rank... Butt even low rank armor u didnt finish and join a high rank hunt a tough one at that... It just rude probably cart 2 time and then leave the hunt...

It's actually worth it for PC players... we're actually getting shit at by these early releases...for example FF15 was released a year ago little did we know we're playing the incomplete version.. we paid $60 for the game $30 for the DLCs & another $30 for the 2018 update... then now.... NOW pc players will get the entire package for $60 ONLY!
When it's a port to PC I always try to wait an additional month before jumping in. So many bugs on launch.

Charge blade or Greatsword?! My dark souls roots say greatsword, but my fighting game roots say charge blade!!
Use them both!
Charge Blade has become too "one trick pony" for my liking compared to Mhgen. It's more fluent by far. But, now it's all about the Burst spam. It's not as methodical, anymore.

I've only played the psp games of mh, so I got overwhelmed by the new stuff in mhw so here we go. Back to being a beginner, its gonna be great.
I just recently started playing this again. I stopped playing when I couldn't beat anjaroth. Picked it back up beat him and I've really been enjoying this game lately. Cant believe it sat on my shelf for so long. I'm loving this game. The loot is awesome and the game is so much fun.

I'm a newbie in this world, never approached this game but it always had something intriguing. Since it finally came on Xbox i decided to jump in and so far i'm loving it and i can't wait to see more of it.
Thanks for your videos, they're amazing for a newcomer. At first i felt the combat system was clunky and slow but after putting some time into it it is starting to fall into place. So for every newcomer who approaches this game give it some time, don't quit after a few hours because it is japanese after all and their games are known to be skill and knowledge based! It is a fantastic thing that as you progress your not getting stronger cause of a level system or anything else, your getting better as a hunter and as a player!

Great Tips btw! Been here since freedom unite and played all of them since, but i still learned a tip i wish i would have used in the other games. The tip is gather EVERYTHING early on so you dont have to look for more of it later.
