When you buy car from a used car lot the old saying goes buyer beware. When you buy a car from a used car lot you never know what could be wrong with it the odometer could say a hundred fifteen thousand miles when in reality it may have a lot more than that. And sometimes these Auto lots will dope up a car just to get rid of it to make a quick dollar. And usually you don't know if the engine has been replaced or the transmission has been replaced or anything of that car's been replaced until you have an experienced mechanic check the car out cuz nothing is going to hide from a high-end code reading scan tool.

I've bought cars in a number of different states and this is the first I've heard of matching signatures. Guess it varies from state to state. How would the state know if you signed the PINK when you received it in the mail unless you had to pick it up at the DMV? Sounds like a good idea but what a pain in the ask.

@ryan rogers I've been ASE master tech for 25 years, I know only half of Scotty's time but mine has been in the obd11 era. And he always talks about his fancy scan tool. But it isn't a magic wand. One example of him only giving you half the information. I think it was this video or another onehe told you how to reset maintenance light on a Toyota it was hold odometer button and turn key on... It's really set to trip A turn key off, then hold button and turn key to run position continue to hold button and watch odometer there will be
      - - - - - witch will count down to zero. Then the light is rest. The best way to find the whole story or an easier way is Google what ur doing and watch serveral videos on the same subject. Don't get me wrong Scotty's really good but he just doesn't give you the whole story. If you need to you can message me on here or Facebook and see if I can give you any info that will make it easier. I just got off the phone with my son who is a c tech and saved him an extra hour's worth of changing a belt on Scotty's beloved Toyota Camry 2.2 liter motor. I am not good finding people on Facebook. So if you look me up as Christopher Brown in Jacksonville Florida you can find me I'll have a red helmet with a hat on top of it is my picture on there so if you friend me or message me I'll message you back if you have any questions and we can compare my notes with Scotty's notes.

its a common sales tactic. most salesperson try to pass the car as belonging to elderly person because old people usually don't drive too fast or stress their car engine too much. now most people try to angle in some immigrants name because buyer will ask questions like "why isn't the original car owner here to sell his car?". so salespersons insert some immigrant country name to imply that owner is not fluent in English or does not know local laws to sell his/her car. you'd be surprised how many car buyers fall for this schtick

the thing is over the last 30-40 years Chryslers have been endless money pits. crap engineering and parts. in the 32 years i worked on cars Chryslers were one of my biggest money makers. at the end of the 70's was the beginning of the end for Chrysler. anyone remember the k cars? the dodge omni? the frame cradle on those cars were crap, the rack and pinions would tear loose from the frame and you either had to replace the frame or cut access ways thru the bottom half so you could rebolt the rack back down to the frame and then reweld the bottom part of the frame where you had to cut into, and they used this crap design for 15 years before moving on to another design.
replacing the frame was not cheap either the job was anywhere from 350 dollars to 550 dollars it depended on if the customer was ok with a junkyard frame or wanted a new one from Chrysler. and this was back in the mid 80's...

I'm glad you pointed out that scam though but you're right if you can get a good deal on it's a good deal life had incidents where I bought Chevys and they were all have together with the security still active and I tried to set it back to factory and I didn't know how the wiring was done beforehand and it basically over rid me with the security and I didn't pay that much and it wasn't a huge loss but yeah you definitely have to check it before you buy it

Thanks about the tip on the Nissans. I bought a 1999 toyota avalon XLS. The OBD Code reader said I needed a mass air flow sensor, o2 bank 1, o2 bank 2. I took your advice and cleaned the Mass air flow sensor. Didn't work so I ordered a new one. I hope with the new air flow sensor the codes will drop. If not I'll try cleaning them like in one of your videos. Any advice you have would be awesome. Thanks Scotty and God bless you my friend and your family as well......:)

I'm sure some tyre pressure monitoring systems also use the wheel speed sensors to detect lower tyre pressure by knowing a tyre with lower pressure will have slightly lower speed than the other wheels.

Although I know that all cars are not created equally. I must say that the way you take care of your car will be the most important factor in how long the engine I have a 2008 Nissan that currently has around a 190K. I change my oil on time and I drained my CVT every 50K. So far, I have not had any issues other than my tire pressure monitor lights always being on. I see people who have cars with 20000K miles, but you can already tell that the engine is starting to suffer from the lack of care. It's always amazing to see somebody buy something for $25,000 but neglect spending $15-$25 every 5 months for an oil change.

Yeah, I have a 2005 Civic ex coupe with about 141k the engine sounds better than A LOT of younger cars. I use synthetic and change it around 5-7k depending how the oil looks or the engine sounds. And I upgraded to Synthetic auto tranny fluid royal purple in 2015 the car likes it.
