So in your head id numbers are automatically created. Every child born in SA have a green card/ clinic card which is obtained soon after the child is born with his or her mothers id attached and meaning that the child's id number is registered at birth. When home affairs issues you id its the very same number on your birth certificate meaning that whoever uses your id is not only recognized by law as you but as your mothers child as well. Imagine not having id in your own country how will you be buried as well. If the person using your identity were to die before you you'd be registered as deceased what if they die somewhere out of SA and a next of kin is needed will your foreign family expect the victimized mother to assist. People think life is no joke.

Trevor Noah’s mother comes from the Xhosa tribe. One of the oldest occupants of this land. He is definitely South Africa in culture & statute. There is no comparison there.
Another woman’s identity was stolen by Chidimma’s mother.
And that woman whose identity was stolen- struggled to register her own child- according to home affairs.
However I have nothing against Chichi, she is unfairly being used as a proxy for a concept we have not engaged with for too long.
She will get her issue sorted, and she can move on with her life. South Africa 🇿🇦 is her home if she chooses it. Also Sponsorships will come and she will succeed ❤

For the most part it is based on encounters with Nigerians as South Africans. Nigerians will say its the media perpetuating this but will never own up to their reputation for drug trafficking, scamming people and the likes. And this reputation is not limited to South Africa.
I for one woke up one day at a complex in Springs i was living in, to a full on raid because one of the units was being used by Nigerians nationals to manufacture drugs.
If you travel anywhere from South Africa the issue of crime always comes up because that is what we are known for. Nigerians instead of always being ready to hurl insults must be honest and deal with why they are known for what they are known for.

    She does not have dual-citizenship.
Her mother stole a South African woman's ID so that Chidimma will qualify to be South African.
To be a citizen of South Africa, there are two crucial requirements: you must be born in South Africa and at least one of your parents should be a citizen. Non of Chidimma's parents are South African citizens so her mother committed fraud by stealing an identity of someone else so that her daughter would be granted citizenship.

3:40 To be a South African, one of your parents must be a citizen, Chidimmas parents were not citizens that's why her mother stole an identity of a South African women. So for 23 years there's a South African women who is living without an ID, she cannot open a bank account, she cannot register her cellphone, she cannot get employed, she cannot get IDs for her kids, her kids cannot access free social services like children grants etc, instead all these things are being enjoyed by Chidimma. Trevor's case is irrelevant because one of her parents is South African.

I am South African and the public were on point on questioning her identity with regards to participating in a pergeant in this instance that is named after our country.
Had she continued to participate and win the Miss South Africa pergeant (an event named after our country), how would you have Miss South Africa whose identity is questionable.
It cannot be I would not even want someone whose identity is questionable being our President or even serving in the military.
I don't mind them being normal citizens and even naturalized South Africans doing any other professions but not the ones that bares our country's name including President or Minister for that matter, no ways.
Even the American public were well within their right question Barack Obama's eligibility to be the US President.
Let me even put a twist to this, do you think the American public would be okay electing a President whose mother or father is Russian? Not even Ukraine would be happy with that. Even the Russian public would not want someone whose father or mother is American being elected President.
Such positions that bares the country's name must be left to those who are 100% citizens of those countries, period.

Look , if you said she has a questioned nationality and she can't served the country as a president or military, are you forgetting that we have people in south Africa military born by Namibian and Angolan parents but their South African citizens, now is these people not being recognized in south Africa?
However, you should remember that Home affairs had a law when you born before 2001 in south Africa you can get a citizenship. Now when did this younger lady born?
You people don't even know what is the law of your country but being just bad manners.

If it is happening in the military like you say it is happening, then it must be stopped period.
