I start to warm up to him again, but I can't forget what he did when he was teaming with Knoqd and bowswer.

Yea you can't blame Xynew, same thing we saw happen with Verhulst. That being said I agree we need something like a trade deadline if the league wants to have unsigned teams competing. Upcoming teams will always be at a disadvantage without it.
And with more orgs pulling out this problem would only potentially get worse
I think something that no one is thinking of though is how adding a sub may hurt this even more. This is an issue in the COD league where teams will sign a very highly talented prospect as a sub. Other teams will then try to get that player off the org but the org doesn’t want to make another team player so they don’t sell them. This could actually further increase the power imbalance if you’re giving someone guaranteed money to sit on the bench compared to no money trying to make a name for yourself on an unsigned team.
An example would be a player named Sib. During the Cold War year he was on the best team in the games roster but the bench player (0% he plays a single match unless something insane happens). Everyone knew the kid was disgusting and multiple teams tried to get him but the buyout was to high. The next season he leaves Faze bc his contract was up, joins a new team, and finished 2nd or 3rd in the rookie or the year voting while getting 3rd at Champs. Add a sub spot to Apex and this could start happening
@@conorkryeski199 im not sure if you know but i dont think a single apex team has a constant sub, subs are only used for LAN events really where a player cannot make it due to illness like COVID etc. the sub issue is not really gonna be a problem in apex
@@conorkryeski199 Ya! There would need to be a rule that states your subs aren't safe. You would need to have someone who is labeled as a sub, and they would be the ones that could be poached. Kinda like in Baseball, where you can only send someone to the minors so many times before other teams can just come and sign them. It stops you from hording talent.

Great video. Big improvement in just a few months! There's no way TEQ has lost the most in Apex as he tweeted though. A few examples spring to mind, like MaxStrafe qualifying to 3 LANs as a strong team and not being able to go due to the war, and Aurora who were denied an opportunity ar LAN when they were at their absolute peak and looked poised to make waves at LAN. That was the second LAN they missed for the same reason.
I reread this and want to clarify: I'm not bashing Teq at all. I think he's brilliant! Also quite funny

I honestly think one of their biggest issues is the fact that Teq is the only one with comp experience and it shows.
I think if they end up trying again next year they have a very good chance to make finals.
I do also agree that the comms are a BIG issue, I could barely hear anything besides “cracked” the entire wraith crypto fight and they were all talking at the same time when they made plays which made it hard for me to hear much less them when they’re trying to fight + listen to comms.
I think the biggest issue with their comms is that they are used to ranked comms where you’re mainly fighting diamonds/masters and not having to fight other pros. You can hear that they have no idea what things need to be commed & what comms to filter out.
Experience definitely plays a big factor

The wraith crypto combo is actually nuts after seeing this. Maybe dropping the Maggie for a lifeline pick would b a good call for them, would allow for fast resets after aggressive challenges and with care package they could get at least one armor above white shields. Or even a loba for the loot and shields and she could q in next to the wraith portal for an off angle while the enemy focuses the two teammates coming from portal

IDK why, but hearing it transition to 'Problem #1 Worlds Edge' cracked me up, the absurdity of hearing that one of their problems was an entire map, not something like team composition, poi, or comms, its just their playstyle on an entire map as a whole, props if you said that with a straight face.

For some reason, I draw parallel between Teq and Karrigan from Faze CSGO, incredible IGLs who can spot new upcoming talents and able to nurture them but gets the short end. But hey Karrigan got his wins too so I can only hope Teq gets the same.

definitely part of what went wrong but tbh they could've always played better the first 6 match days to lock in a LAN spot before the poaching ever happened
it's crazy that there's no roster lock until that close to Regionals, it puts so much power in the hands of signed orgs. I know in Valorant they have a lock at the beginning of the season, and I think it's been hugely important. It's helped protect the Tier 2 side of the game, who can compete for promotion without the fear of losing their players, and it's helped highlight wehich orgs have good stable roster building (Fnatic, EG, C9) and which teams are absolutly awful at it. IMO with Apex, they should lock the rosters at the start of the season, and then maybe open up trade windows during certain breaks.
Not gonna lie out of all of the Apex Content / News I think the way you portray the Situation of certain groups is Really top tier, I think it would Neat thought to have some "subtitles" not the default one, to relay your info more clearer and Also I think you would be amazing doing also Apex news lol

Apex is such a young esport that something like this doesnt occur very often. But hopefully as we grow ALGS will adjust for the evolving landscape!

To be fair it’s not DZs job to ensure other teams are competitive. It’s their job to win LANs. I don’t blame them for poaching Xynew, they did what they thought would help them win

Honestly not really. You get more loot but the quality still isnt great. Overall I think Worlds Edge needs higher quality loot for most POIs

in sports there is something called a transfer window, and also for an org they need to have a sub or 2 ready, from an academy or something but also its about budget but ye, i think darkzero have a % of blame in this situation but like teq said saying no to a bag is bit stupid for apex because there isnt much money involved in pro scene, especially for a full time pro player

Teq on ESA as IGL would make sense. They have a similar situation of getting players put on bigger orgs after a successful season. Teq would essentially be that threshold of making it, idk just spitballing though.
Teqs biggest problem tbh is that he isn’t signed to an org. It’s easier to keep talent when that talent is getting paid already

Xynew and Fuhhnq need to literally just clean up comms and turn their mic volumes down and literally raise Teqs. One of them also needs to be Teqs side kick to calls, kinda like how Sweet and Hal have Nafan and Reps. Teq needs a definite side kick in comms
Both of them were actually pretty good at suggesting ideas and stuff, I think they just needed to either get more experience to remain calm under high pressure moments or Teq could've been a louder IGL... thats really the only fix they needed

Completely agree the blame is on ALGS. The fact that their LAN is already so far removed from pro league is ridiculous. I hope they figure crap out because being able to change a teammate the week before finals is just brain dead. I think viewers and pros would appreciate a trade deadline halfway through pro league and a Lan that falls in the same season and meta that pro league wraps up with.

I don't know what it is, but Teq always seems like the villain of comp Apex. Almost every time I'm spectating a team that gets griefed by Teq's squad, a player immediately gets incredibly salty about Teq specifically and it's always absolutely hilarious. Dude's the Kobe of Apex in that regard, lol.
On a more serious note though, the biggest issue with having stricter roster deadlines is the fact that players aren't contractually obligated to even finish the season with a team, it seems, which is the biggest linchpin in all of this to me. It's also the only real form of 'power' players have over their careers in this scene besides their sheer skill. And as much as I love the idea of more sub usage in e-sports in general, I also don't think players should be getting signed just to sit on the bench all season. Players want to play and people want to see players play. I think the larger issue here is that e-sports, as a whole, doesn't make any fucking money to begin with. There are so few orgs that actually turn a profit, and thus monopolize most of the scene, and in-turn make the majority of 'pro' players less motivated to play because they don't know when the next pay day's gonna come, which is why scrims are always so awful because players are constantly questioning how much of it even fucking matters when it's barely contributing to their livelihoods, yet they have to commit so much of it to the game. There is no real easy answer to this issue outside of e-sports in general finding a way to dig itself out of the deep hole its in, which doesn't look very likely, honestly. Jut my take though.
This comment went all over the place but to address the start of your concern about earlier roster lock… bummer. If you can’t complete a full split with your team that’s on you. Team hopping isn’t very common mid split anyway so your concern basically only affects like 2 people
