    Thanks for the intro to your VT machine. It would be great if all the tool makers did something like this.

    Looks to me like a standard disc ????? I have used my 14 foot disc for years as a VT tool.....works great ..just adjust the gangs straight and go up to 15 miles per hour !

    Great videos on all things Versatile. I've loved the company since I was a kid. Now own a 1969 Versatile D145 that I'm restoring that's been repowered with a Cummins 5.9 12valve. Approximately 200hp. When you're around Dayton Ohio, stop by and see it! Now, how do I get a job with Versatile?

    It would be nice to pitch it in varing soil conditions which means going to hydralics which means more money but an hour to change the setting seems like an eternaty when time is of the essance.

      Did you get an exelerator and if you did what did you think of it on a scale of 1 to 10 in corn stalks

    Do the specs list horse power based on the gang angle?

    Having Run the Sunflower and CaseIH VT tools we have given up on that and went back to a Disc Chisel pass

      Mind me asking what you didn't like about the vertical till.

      69druth how to use it for knocking down corn trash to rotate into soybeans I never saw any major increases and yields or differences plus it was just a unnecessary trip spending more fuel when I could still get threw it with my case 875 and my Krause dominator

      I agree with you all They did was take a disk put different blades on it and renamed it a Vertical tillage tool.

    @Mike Less does this tool create a compaction layer? I know the Great Plains turbo max doesn’t.

    Concave blades so it really isn't vertical tillage.

    I would need a 18-20 foot model which is not made

  • @Heimerviewfarm

    Could you follow, fall chiseled ground and use it as a seed bed prep disk to?

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  Před 7 lety

      Ive seen guys do just that with other VT tools and it seems to worked really well.

    • @Heimerviewfarm
      @Heimerviewfarm Před 7 lety

      Mike Less okay I was wondering if you were to run it at 16 degrees on chiseled ground and 8 degrees for mix granular fertilizer

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  Před 7 lety

      8 degrees would be plenty especially if the ground was chiseled.

      Mike Less some old family friends not far from me use excellerators for it and man I must say they do beautiful work in that south central Indiana White River bottom ground. Too bad they'll have to redo most everything because of flooding. Obviously that happens in river bottoms but I have never in my short (almost 19) years seen it that bad. At the very least we're talking replanting but I won't be surprised if they re-apply anhydrous and possibly even another VT run

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  Před 7 lety

      Do you have some big logs and other debris floating in the fields? I saw a lot of this last week in Southern Illinois from the flooding.
