I said this on Twitter but I'll say it here as well just in case people misunderstand what I was saying in the beginning: my relationship to Dreamcatcher has changed over the past year or so but it's basically that they've become the ultimate comfort group for me. I may not watch or follow every single thing they do the same way I did at the start but any time I do spend time with them, it feels like coming home. There's such a warmth and comfort that comes with Dreamcatcher for me and regardless of where my attention is pulled, that will always stay the same. Watching this MV and hearing this song only strengthened that feeling :)

It is also linked to war, ruthlessness, and violence. The balance of red and blue has great meaning in Korean culture. While red represents yang's (the man's) energy, which is masculine in nature, blue represents yin's (the woman's) energy. One could assume it means balance and peace. A soft and bittersweet parting.

That fluffy floating creature is probably Siyeon. She sacrificed herself to protect Sua (Suayeon❤️🔥), so in the scene where all 7 of them walking forward, Siyeon eventually stopped walking and the fluffy creature accompany the members for her😭 Sua escaping from the exposed building without Siyeon proves this point. Also the scene Siyeon sitting in a not moving car is also a hint showing she is unable to continue the journey with the other members😢 But she's still smiling because she doesn't regret saving her love ones😭😭😭
Regarding your relationship with Dreamcatcher.. when I discovered deukae during the pandemic, it was a match in heaven for me. I was obsessed with them, following every note, special clips, weverse vlive and so on. But then, as you said the fire kind of dwindled. But not because of another groups pulling my attention, it was because of real life and work that has taken a lot of my time since the pandemic situation got better. This particular CB tho, and this song, really struck a chord in me. Like you, my fav deukae genre has always been their rock-sounding songs (deja vu and fly high are my all time favs). Bon Voyage really captured those vibe that I had missed so much, and I am reminded of how much I loved them then, and still love them now.
Dreamcatcher is that group that no matter what they drop, we will listen and enjoy. one more than others, but always enjoy. and this comeback reminded me of the old dreamcatcher vibes from the first listen. and now that i see other peoples reaction i am right. Dreamcatcher is my ultimate Favourite group and Syieon is my ultimate bias of all bias.

I am so in love with Bonvoyage! After listening to it over and over again I think it's probably going to end up being a top 5 DC title track for me, it's just so good! The MV was gorgeous as well, with amazing visuals and much better CGI this time. The real sets were obvious a smart choice. The girls also looked beyond stunning during it as well! As for what you said at the beginning and further expanded on in your comment, I totally get what you mean and feel that's pretty natural. I know it's something I feel from time to time as well. We both listen to so many groups and there is always new music and new groups coming out all the time and a lot of it is extremely good. So it's natural that even if a group is one of your Ults, you're going to have some moments where you kind of move away from being obsessed with them. It may be because a new group you're obsessed with is taking your attention, it may be because one of their comebacks doesnt grab you as much as it usually does, whatever the reason there's nothing wrong with it. They are still an Ult group and will always be special to you and something that you will go back to eventually.
In my Opinion it's a Compliment, saying some of their Titletrack sound absolutely like a Anime Opening because since they are inspired by J Rock/J Metal (mostly J Rock) and well guess who (is being asked to produce) produces Anime Openings? You guessed it J Rock/J Metal Bands (of course not always but still) , so they are basically executing this Side of J Rock/J Metal perfectly. I absolutely Looove the i Know you part the most of this Song because of the Vocals and the Guitars in the Back and also the Bass is sooo good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 they always manage to give Me Vibes of different J Rock/J Metal Bands that I also Listen to with every single Titletrack and some of their Rock Flavored B Sides and that makes Me Love them even Moore 😊

Bon voyage actually gives me major Deja Vu and Fly High vibes, like the structure of this song is very similar to Deja Vu and it’s a happier song just like fly high, AND they brought heavy rock back?? This has exceeded my expectations, Dreamcatcher has seriously outdone themselves💯
i really understand your pov, as an insomnia since deja vu/scream era the rock sound was really missing this last year. i kinda drifted away from them a year ago bc maison and vision were not what i personnaly enjoy, but this comeback really brought back the old dreamcatcher and i am living for it. the rock sound+ the vocal heavy chorus is pure heaven. also can’t wait to hear the whole album, purpose sounded soooo good in the highlight medley. love our girls sm
If "Bon Voyage" doesn't re-ignite your passion, I don't know what could. 😉 There is no one like them in Kpop. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break, just like it can be good in a relationship to not be together all the time. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a seed. That leads my dark mind to believe that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on the way of wiping ourselves out. I could of course be wrong. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. I can also imagine they are building an ark to take plants and animals to another planet. It would make sense with quite a lot of the scenes in the MV (and it would explain the horse). As you can see, my theory is not yet perfect. I also do not know why all three titles are in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...) Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy! I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the director and the visual effects team all deserve a raise!
This change in your feelings regarding Dreamcatcher is a normal thing imo. Given enough time,, this happens for me with all the groups I adore. Using SHINee as an example: I've been a fan for over a decade. But it's not like I spent every moment of that time as obsessed with them and as focused on them as I was during my initial introduction to the group. This continued to happen over and over again for a handful of other groups over time, and none of these times did I stop being interested or stopped loving them. The novelty of the members and the initial excitement naturally wears off to leave behind a love that's as natural as breathing, and a warmth that's as much a part of us as our skin. That isn't to say that once in a while, like even as often as they have comebacks, they don't Come For Your Soul and you find yourself overwhelmed, they absoulutely do. xD Comparing it to relationships, romantic or platonic, it's like the change from the initial giddiness to the steady contentment, if that makes sense. There will be sudden moments of overwhelming love and fondness but it will still exist as a strong undercurrent throughout all the other moments. Sorry for such a long comment, I just wanted to share how I feel.
Dreamcatcher just released the Album Of The Year 2023 for me. All 4 songs are incredible. But BON VOYAGE and PROPOSE are the best songs I've heard in years.

Not gonna lie, I was feeling a bit of trepidation when we heard that LEEZ was leaving the production team to take on the role of artistic director for Hi-Hat, but BOY HOWDY did Ollounder, the pizza toppings, and the rest of the Edenary team come through! WOW what a comeback!
In the Dreamcatcher Note that shows the bts for the 1st win Minji asks Yoohyeon "Do we have a song that says I love you?" and at that time they didn't. I am feeling emotional now that they do have one! I like to think that Minji made sure that they said it. One reason I think that Bon Voyage has affected me a bit differently is because the ladies are smiling throughout the MV and that just isn't something that happens all the time. I absolutely love how hard Dreamcatcher goes but I also love when they're the cute and loving women that they are IRL.

What you talk at beginning is kinda overdose, when you obsesses about something and then kinda abandon it. I had that for DC.. Tree of Life was perfect album and on my birthday! I overdosed on DC that year and kinda ignored couple next releases.. Now I'm back loving my girls❤
To me that song is kind a love message for older fan like me and newer fan, like they say we tried other new sound and genre and mix up but in our core we still are that group who have that dark, hard deep rock-like sound with hard electric guitar and bass that you all love. I will dare to say it, Dreamcatcher genre is Dreamcatcher, yeah like my ultimate favorite group GFRIEND, Dreamcatcher has created his own genre like GFRIEND did and no one will be ever be able to copy or imitate them. No one was able to do it or copy what GFRIEND did and created and no one will be able to do the same with Dreamcatcher and both group will have marked k-pop history as both legendary group.
I discovered Dreamcatcher quite a bit later, shortly after they released Odd Eye. As a result I have had less time to obsess over them, although I feel I have made up on it in intensity. The title tracks in 2022 underwhelmed me a bit. I felt Maison and Vision to be a bit formulaic. Upon first listen, I knew what was coming before I had heard it. Bon Voyage is anything but predictable, and it makes me feel really excited to experience this come back.
I hadn't been actively keeping up with every bit of DC content, but did spend a bit of time to mark in my calendar the release schedule and make time to watch the comeback showcase today.... and I got punched in the face by this album today, its amazing :D The more I listen to Bon Voyage, the more it slows down and get to take in every bit of the song and it's instrumentals Was almost like rediscovering dreamcatcher, especially the b-sides (the live perf of To You and also Propose... omg) So anyway, here I am 5 hours later, watched the MV, TongTong culture showcase, weekly idol, official showcase, now time to binge reactions :D
I got pulled into the Dreamcatcher blackhole courtesy of Scandal and Babymetal and the 1st song I watched and heard was Boca but it was Deja Vu that made me into a Somnia. I love these ladies and their story is so legendary. I mean these ladies struggled so much, the ultimate underdogs in Kpop world. What I love most of them is their unconventional and unpredictable style. 3 other girl groups do that for me and they are Mamamoo, G-Idle and Rolling Quartz. Give Rolling Quartz a listen please. You will not regret it.
To be honest- there are groups band and whatnot that take my atention for a week or so but Dreamcatcher is always right there to take the first place again XD And I totally get the Deja vu/piri-feeling, since I feel exactly the same. Alot of us that have grown with them for so many years with all the ups and down… the obsession will always fade as with anything. But DC will always be my safe space❤❤❤ they are just so genuine as people and it radiates towards everyone they meet.
as an insomnia since their debut, i understand you're trying to say. i love their rock sound and that's why i stanned them in the first place. i genuinely love dreamcatcher because of heartfelt songs like emotions, fly high, full moon that gave me strength throughout the difficult parts of my life. I've been not updated on every single content since Vision. But that doesn't necessarily mean I don't support them or stan them.

those phases are definitely normal, and i think it just shows even more how much they mean to u! this happened to me w gfriend around sunrise/fever era, where they took a backseat to my life and just things going on around me. but the fact that i could stop obsessing over them for a bit and just naturally start obsessing over them again just told me what a stable part of my life they are, like whatever happens they’ll be there when i’m ready.

They are my favorite group ever, they’re the only one I’ve ever bought merch/albums for, but with that being said, I am past the phase of consuming every single piece of content around them at all times. And I’m okay with that. It’s like a long term relationship; it’s not needed to be doing everything together all the time, sometimes the quiet companionship or peace of mind knowing they’ll always be there is what makes me happy. I understand taking a backseat while they're still your number one group. I think this happens with relationships in general. We calm down after a while and it becomes just this nice thing a part of your life. I am the same with NCT Dream (but also SM absolutely mismarkets the crap out of their teasers and concepts) where I consume all their music but I don't follow/watch their teasers or variety content anymore. They're still my ride or d*e kpop group though.

I totally get what you said about your realtionship with them, i had the same last year when they had that long break before maison. maison and the win and everything that happened reignited that faster than i could really grasp at that moment, but yeah, i've been there. Now for the sound, first of all, I've been going into dc comebacks (and most other comebacks in general) blind ever since scream, cause i really disliked how much they spoiled during the highlight medley, and it was the best decision ever. especially for bon voyage, the sound, it's everythiiiing. also i really think that since last year when they went to primavera (or maybe it was because of the win, but primavera was the first big stage where i noticed it) they've really leaned into their rock identity. the songs they chose for primavera, the songs they then chose for their tours, i just really feel like through the win and by being known as the face of rock in kpop, they started capitalizing on that again when they saw that yes, people do love them because of that, and it's an important aspect of them for fans. I know they've always been proud of beinng a group thqt sticks to rock, and they didn't really wanna change that, but i do feel like they started steering away the littlest bit, having rock elements but concentrating on other sounds. and now they got their win(s), they've been to a rock festival, and now they're prepared to fully go back to that sound again. (Vision was probably already in the pipeline atp and they dind't wanna change it) this might just be wishful thinking on my part, but it's something that makes a lot of sense to me

Maison and Vision are more metal than rock (nu and industrial, respectively) and I loooved it, so I'm one of the 3 people on the planet that wished this was a b-side and Demian or Propose were the title instead because they're phenomenal, but it *still* makes me super emotional. And the lyrical ambiguity (an interpersonal relationship, or a relationship between humanity and the planet) is so genius, because they wrapped up the trilogy while also catering to the general public who might hear this without context.
I just wanna point out the clear suyeon ship reference with the fact this song has "I love you. My feelings for you. Every cell pulls me to you." Etc. And then Siyeon saves sua in the music video. I literally screamed for it 😂😂

This particular CB tho, and this song, really struck a chord in me. Like you, my fav deukae genre has always been their rock-sounding songs (deja vu and fly high are my all time favs). Bon Voyage really captured those vibe that I had missed so much, and I am reminded of how much I loved them then, and still love them now.
Dreamcatcher is that group that no matter what they drop, we will listen and enjoy. one more than others, but always enjoy. and this comeback reminded me of the old dreamcatcher vibes from the first listen. and now that i see other peoples reaction i am right. Dreamcatcher is my ultimate Favourite group and Syieon is my ultimate bias of all bias.

I am so in love with Bonvoyage! After listening to it over and over again I think it's probably going to end up being a top 5 DC title track for me, it's just so good! The MV was gorgeous as well, with amazing visuals and much better CGI this time. The real sets were obvious a smart choice. The girls also looked beyond stunning during it as well!
As for what you said at the beginning and further expanded on in your comment, I totally get what you mean and feel that's pretty natural. I know it's something I feel from time to time as well. We both listen to so many groups and there is always new music and new groups coming out all the time and a lot of it is extremely good. So it's natural that even if a group is one of your Ults, you're going to have some moments where you kind of move away from being obsessed with them. It may be because a new group you're obsessed with is taking your attention, it may be because one of their comebacks doesnt grab you as much as it usually does, whatever the reason there's nothing wrong with it. They are still an Ult group and will always be special to you and something that you will go back to eventually.

In my Opinion it's a Compliment, saying some of their Titletrack sound absolutely like a Anime Opening because since they are inspired by J Rock/J Metal (mostly J Rock) and well guess who (is being asked to produce) produces Anime Openings? You guessed it J Rock/J Metal Bands (of course not always but still) , so they are basically executing this Side of J Rock/J Metal perfectly. I absolutely Looove the i Know you part the most of this Song because of the Vocals and the Guitars in the Back and also the Bass is sooo good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 they always manage to give Me Vibes of different J Rock/J Metal Bands that I also Listen to with every single Titletrack and some of their Rock Flavored B Sides and that makes Me Love them even Moore 😊

If "Bon Voyage" doesn't re-ignite your passion, I don't know what could. 😉 There is no one like them in Kpop. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break, just like it can be good in a relationship to not be together all the time. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a seed.
That leads my dark mind to believe that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on the way of wiping ourselves out. I could of course be wrong. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again.
I can also imagine they are building an ark to take plants and animals to another planet. It would make sense with quite a lot of the scenes in the MV (and it would explain the horse).
As you can see, my theory is not yet perfect. I also do not know why all three titles are in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the director and the visual effects team all deserve a raise!

This change in your feelings regarding Dreamcatcher is a normal thing imo. Given enough time,, this happens for me with all the groups I adore. Using SHINee as an example: I've been a fan for over a decade. But it's not like I spent every moment of that time as obsessed with them and as focused on them as I was during my initial introduction to the group. This continued to happen over and over again for a handful of other groups over time, and none of these times did I stop being interested or stopped loving them.
The novelty of the members and the initial excitement naturally wears off to leave behind a love that's as natural as breathing, and a warmth that's as much a part of us as our skin. That isn't to say that once in a while, like even as often as they have comebacks, they don't Come For Your Soul and you find yourself overwhelmed, they absoulutely do. xD
Comparing it to relationships, romantic or platonic, it's like the change from the initial giddiness to the steady contentment, if that makes sense. There will be sudden moments of overwhelming love and fondness but it will still exist as a strong undercurrent throughout all the other moments.
Sorry for such a long comment, I just wanted to share how I feel.

In the Dreamcatcher Note that shows the bts for the 1st win Minji asks Yoohyeon "Do we have a song that says I love you?" and at that time they didn't. I am feeling emotional now that they do have one! I like to think that Minji made sure that they said it. One reason I think that Bon Voyage has affected me a bit differently is because the ladies are smiling throughout the MV and that just isn't something that happens all the time. I absolutely love how hard Dreamcatcher goes but I also love when they're the cute and loving women that they are IRL.

What you talk at beginning is kinda overdose, when you obsesses about something and then kinda abandon it. I had that for DC.. Tree of Life was perfect album and on my birthday! I overdosed on DC that year and kinda ignored couple next releases.. Now I'm back loving my girls❤
To me that song is kind a love message for older fan like me and newer fan, like they say we tried other new sound and genre and mix up but in our core we still are that group who have that dark, hard deep rock-like sound with hard electric guitar and bass that you all love. I will dare to say it, Dreamcatcher genre is Dreamcatcher, yeah like my ultimate favorite group GFRIEND, Dreamcatcher has created his own genre like GFRIEND did and no one will be ever be able to copy or imitate them. No one was able to do it or copy what GFRIEND did and created and no one will be able to do the same with Dreamcatcher and both group will have marked k-pop history as both legendary group.
I discovered Dreamcatcher quite a bit later, shortly after they released Odd Eye. As a result I have had less time to obsess over them, although I feel I have made up on it in intensity. The title tracks in 2022 underwhelmed me a bit. I felt Maison and Vision to be a bit formulaic. Upon first listen, I knew what was coming before I had heard it. Bon Voyage is anything but predictable, and it makes me feel really excited to experience this come back.
I hadn't been actively keeping up with every bit of DC content, but did spend a bit of time to mark in my calendar the release schedule and make time to watch the comeback showcase today.... and I got punched in the face by this album today, its amazing :D The more I listen to Bon Voyage, the more it slows down and get to take in every bit of the song and it's instrumentals
Was almost like rediscovering dreamcatcher, especially the b-sides (the live perf of To You and also Propose... omg)

I got pulled into the Dreamcatcher blackhole courtesy of Scandal and Babymetal and the 1st song I watched and heard was Boca but it was Deja Vu that made me into a Somnia. I love these ladies and their story is so legendary. I mean these ladies struggled so much, the ultimate underdogs in Kpop world. What I love most of them is their unconventional and unpredictable style. 3 other girl groups do that for me and they are Mamamoo, G-Idle and Rolling Quartz. Give Rolling Quartz a listen please. You will not regret it.

as an insomnia since their debut, i understand you're trying to say. i love their rock sound and that's why i stanned them in the first place. i genuinely love dreamcatcher because of heartfelt songs like emotions, fly high, full moon that gave me strength throughout the difficult parts of my life. I've been not updated on every single content since Vision. But that doesn't necessarily mean I don't support them or stan them.
I have a similar relationship with Deukkae this last year. I have same feeling cuz i love their before-scream song. Basically i can really really relate with ur feelings.
those phases are definitely normal, and i think it just shows even more how much they mean to u! this happened to me w gfriend around sunrise/fever era, where they took a backseat to my life and just things going on around me. but the fact that i could stop obsessing over them for a bit and just naturally start obsessing over them again just told me what a stable part of my life they are, like whatever happens they’ll be there when i’m ready.

Re: your comment about your relationship with DC is exactly how I feel. They are my favorite group ever, they’re the only one I’ve ever bought merch/albums for, but with that being said, I am past the phase of consuming every single piece of content around them at all times. And I’m okay with that. It’s like a long term relationship; it’s not needed to be doing everything together all the time, sometimes the quiet companionship or peace of mind knowing they’ll always be there is what makes me happy.

I understand taking a backseat while they're still your number one group. I think this happens with relationships in general. We calm down after a while and it becomes just this nice thing a part of your life. I am the same with NCT Dream (but also SM absolutely mismarkets the crap out of their teasers and concepts) where I consume all their music but I don't follow/watch their teasers or variety content anymore. They're still my ride or d*e kpop group though.

I totally get what you said about your realtionship with them, i had the same last year when they had that long break before maison. maison and the win and everything that happened reignited that faster than i could really grasp at that moment, but yeah, i've been there. Now for the sound, first of all, I've been going into dc comebacks (and most other comebacks in general) blind ever since scream, cause i really disliked how much they spoiled during the highlight medley, and it was the best decision ever. especially for bon voyage, the sound, it's everythiiiing. also i really think that since last year when they went to primavera (or maybe it was because of the win, but primavera was the first big stage where i noticed it) they've really leaned into their rock identity. the songs they chose for primavera, the songs they then chose for their tours, i just really feel like through the win and by being known as the face of rock in kpop, they started capitalizing on that again when they saw that yes, people do love them because of that, and it's an important aspect of them for fans. I know they've always been proud of beinng a group thqt sticks to rock, and they didn't really wanna change that, but i do feel like they started steering away the littlest bit, having rock elements but concentrating on other sounds. and now they got their win(s), they've been to a rock festival, and now they're prepared to fully go back to that sound again. (Vision was probably already in the pipeline atp and they dind't wanna change it) this might just be wishful thinking on my part, but it's something that makes a lot of sense to me

Maison and Vision are more metal than rock (nu and industrial, respectively) and I loooved it, so I'm one of the 3 people on the planet that wished this was a b-side and Demian or Propose were the title instead because they're phenomenal, but it *still* makes me super emotional. And the lyrical ambiguity (an interpersonal relationship, or a relationship between humanity and the planet) is so genius, because they wrapped up the trilogy while also catering to the general public who might hear this without context.
