Drones are the game changer.. modern war will revolve around using and countering these. It's just a growing threat, no way around it. It gives capabilities to those who would not otherwise be able to multiply force. As we get to stronger and more sophisticated models, it will be a huge benefit to any militant force that can get their hands on it. Paraglider infantry is such a unique concept and doesn't seem to be a bad one either. Its cheap and provide substantial air mobility and range. They can fly very low and hard to detect by conventional means. Once they are near the objective, they can just idle and glide down silently under the cover of darkness. Once the mission is over, they can quickly mount up and take off basically anywhere, no runway and even a small clearing is sufficient.
Yeah except they can only deliver 1 or 2 troops at a time and literally zero protection from ground fire. I dont think theyre that cheap either considering the amount of them youd need to transport any real force, although the could be useful for limited raids or crossing rivers or other areas

Really? And compare how many military vehicles russians have lost during this counteroffensive using OSINT Oryx . And how many Israel forces have lost to Hamas. "Counteroffensive" is not only taking some territory , it's large process to eliminate enemy even by long distance.

So a couple thoughts; I feel like Israel saw this coming but allowed it, and also I hope that Israel won’t let this opportunity go to waste and finally eliminate the strip.
Palestinians started this attack because they are mad and worried about the closer ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel that have been helped and brokered by a few nations including the United States of America. Saudi Arabia has long been close to the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians are clearly worried that if Israel and Saudi Arabia drop their disagreements and closer ties that the Palestinians will never get what they want. I will also say that I am quite surprised that Israel didn’t preemptively attack any attacking force such as the 5,000 plus rockets that were launched, the people bulldozing the walls, etc. The Israeli government’s security and National intelligence apparatus is extraordinarily good. It’s really hard for me to not believe they had any idea this was coming. Israel is tapped in to every single cell phone the Palestinians use, they have numerous human sources, they are completely tapped into the internet and can monitor things like emails, websites, text msgs, etc. Point being that I’m surprised that we’re not hearing about Israeli preparedness and preemptive actions before this attack. Who knows, maybe we will in the coming hours and days. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist as I am a skeptic and follow the evidence only in my life, but part of me definitely wonders how much Benjamin Netanyahu secretly wants something like this to happen. I mean, on one hand it’s not beneficial at all with the potential signing of improved diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, but on the other hand by having the Palestinians attack Israel then it gives Netanyahu a freehand at laying waste to Palestinian organizations, militants, etc. Israel may even seize land, take massive amounts of prisoners, kill many leaders, and on and on. If Israel preemptively stops this attack then the world may have seen this most recent conflict very differently. But, by Palestinians attacking, killing, bombing, beating soldiers and civilians, taking soldiers hostage, etc. then most of the “west” and most of Europe will see Israel in a much more favorable light. Many will see Israel as the good guys and Palestinians as the bad guys, as people tend to oversimplify conflicts that are generationally old and complex. In this case though, the Palestinians have failed to manage their PR campaign on this conflict. Many will see this attack by Palestinians as a false sense of proportion-for instance, why attack and kill people just because two countries are trying to warm their relations? Of course, the Palestinians have long wanted a variety of concessions from Israel, but this may be lost on the world as they are watching. I haven’t even mentioned the ongoing surface level issues about the blockade, the barrier, the temple and mosques and all these issues that have been an long-standing problem with the Palestinians and Israelis in terms of compromises and peace negotiations, etc. This year has also been pretty violent with targeted attacks, etc. Regardless, I am very against an attack by the Palestinians that have included indiscriminate killing of civilians as well as torture and kidnapping. These actions have lit a fire under Israel that will motivate the entire government, military and intelligence apparatuses to rain down destruction in Gaza that the world has not seen in years. This was not a well thought out plan by the Palestinian authorities.

So a couple thoughts; I feel like Israel saw this coming but allowed it, and also I hope that Israel won’t let this opportunity go to waste and finally eliminate the strip.
Palestinians started this attack because they are mad and worried about the closer ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel that have been helped and brokered by a few nations including the United States of America. Saudi Arabia has long been close to the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians are clearly worried that if Israel and Saudi Arabia drop their disagreements and closer ties that the Palestinians will never get what they want.
I will also say that I am quite surprised that Israel didn’t preemptively attack any attacking force such as the 5,000 plus rockets that were launched, the people bulldozing the walls, etc. The Israeli government’s security and National intelligence apparatus is extraordinarily good. It’s really hard for me to not believe they had any idea this was coming. Israel is tapped in to every single cell phone the Palestinians use, they have numerous human sources, they are completely tapped into the internet and can monitor things like emails, websites, text msgs, etc. Point being that I’m surprised that we’re not hearing about Israeli preparedness and preemptive actions before this attack. Who knows, maybe we will in the coming hours and days.
I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist as I am a skeptic and follow the evidence only in my life, but part of me definitely wonders how much Benjamin Netanyahu secretly wants something like this to happen. I mean, on one hand it’s not beneficial at all with the potential signing of improved diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, but on the other hand by having the Palestinians attack Israel then it gives Netanyahu a freehand at laying waste to Palestinian organizations, militants, etc. Israel may even seize land, take massive amounts of prisoners, kill many leaders, and on and on. If Israel preemptively stops this attack then the world may have seen this most recent conflict very differently. But, by Palestinians attacking, killing, bombing, beating soldiers and civilians, taking soldiers hostage, etc. then most of the “west” and most of Europe will see Israel in a much more favorable light. Many will see Israel as the good guys and Palestinians as the bad guys, as people tend to oversimplify conflicts that are generationally old and complex. In this case though, the Palestinians have failed to manage their PR campaign on this conflict. Many will see this attack by Palestinians as a false sense of proportion-for instance, why attack and kill people just because two countries are trying to warm their relations? Of course, the Palestinians have long wanted a variety of concessions from Israel, but this may be lost on the world as they are watching.
I haven’t even mentioned the ongoing surface level issues about the blockade, the barrier, the temple and mosques and all these issues that have been an long-standing problem with the Palestinians and Israelis in terms of compromises and peace negotiations, etc. This year has also been pretty violent with targeted attacks, etc.
Regardless, I am very against an attack by the Palestinians that have included indiscriminate killing of civilians as well as torture and kidnapping. These actions have lit a fire under Israel that will motivate the entire government, military and intelligence apparatuses to rain down destruction in Gaza that the world has not seen in years. This was not a well thought out plan by the Palestinian authorities.
