    Brilliant Idea Dan, and thanks for the link to the Chronicles of Caravaning site… I’m just in the process of prepping the “Van” for serviced pitches, and this is certainly a tidy way of getting rid of the waste water!!!

    Ingenious if not a little OCD, just like myself. Everything proper and in its place and tidy. That's why you are Dan the Man....Love the idea of using the awning channel and a piece of awning rail protector as you have educated me on previously to hold the whole assembly in place. Brilliant.

    Thanks for this superb video. We've just used our first ever fully serviced pitch and used a length of grey waste hose. Due to the issues you describe at the start, we found our shower base flooded with dish water. Not good! We straightened the tube out so it drained better, but I'm now off to get some rigid pipe. Keep up the superb work. Your videos are really fantastic, well explained, beautifully shot and friendly. Thanks.

      Thank you, all credit must go to Simon at Caravan Chronicles for giving me the idea too.
      Glad this helped out
      Take care

    I’ve been watching a few of your videos now & got to thank you I do enjoy them so keep up the good work, on this particular video I really liked the awning channel being used to secure the waste pipes secure that can easily come out so thanks for that very practical tip to a common issue.

    Hi dan, love ya videos mate keep the good work up. I've made this and it worked good. I've had a think on how this could be made better and come up with a great idea that works better. What I done is I used a 32mm flexible shower waste 350mm-500mm in length.At the 3.30minute in the video I changed the gray pipe and missed the angle fitting out. It now flexes to any angle I want, backwards, sideways,etc without coming apart. I found it's much easier to match the waste onsite up now. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers

      Hi Steven,
      Thats a great idea, I will look at this again when I'm at the van and see what the improvement looks like.
      Thanks for commenting.
      Take care

    Hi Dan
    Always happy to listen and learn from you although I have tried your method of grey water disposal I find it a bit of a nuisance joining all the bits. But keep doing what your doing please because I for one am glad of all the advice.

    Hi Dan - I have added one minor addition to my drainage kit set up as posted by you/ Simon.
    I had some off cuts of upvc trim approx' 3 1/2" wide - length cut to suit -- in that I cut a 32mm hole and a 40mm hole.The idea being that you can slide it over either pipe as required and it acts as a"prop" to aid water flow downwards on a long run. It can be stood either way to suit the height needed. Please feel free to share, I don't do youtube posts, I only watch and learn
    Regards Mike

    I noticed this video is very old, are you still using this system on serviced pitches?
    Can you clarify on the join/coupling and long pipe sizes?

    Hi Dan, we have an Elddis Affinity 550 van and there doesn’t appear to be a u-bend in the waste system. I did something similar to this last season and had dreadful smells from the drain until i introduced a u-bend into the waste line.

    Hi dan& Angela can i ask when booking a few days away say with the caravan club, do you have to book up the week or weeks before?Also since watching your vlog with the man from Swindon we are most likely going over this weekend to look for our caravan because they seem to have a good selection.Take care Susie & steve

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Thats great news Suzie,
      As for booking up we tend to book about 3 months ahead of ourselves. Because of Angelas work rota / schedule we don't know what shifts she will be working when the time comes around, so planning in the future is a difficult task for us. We find however, that sites that we want to visit always have a few pitches available.
      Take care,
      Dan

    how do you store all the pipes during touring?

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 6 lety +2

      I Store the smaller pipes in the larger pipes (so they all collapse down) the connections in a carrier bag, and the entire set up lays in the gas locker behind the gas bottle. Its not as cumbersome as you might think.

      Hi Mike, thanks for the question,
      I've made no changes to this kit list or configuration. I find its been excellent and has allowed me to connect to every serviced pitch we have visited so far.
      Hope that helps.
