  • Bobby Allen is the subject of this Open Wheel 101 interview presented by EMi. We were fortunate to sit with Bobby for an hour for an "unplugged" interview discussing his race career, the state of sprint car racing, the Shark Racing team and his opinions on various topics. Bobby has many great stories from when he started in racing as the 1960 World Go Kart champion, to working with Indy 500 champion Jim Rathmann, his move to central PA, his exploits with teammate Lynn Paxton, and much, much more! Thanks to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum for hosting this event!

Priceless interview!!! It’s refreshing to hear honesty about what it takes to makes these races. Folks act like if you ain’t got tons of money don’t even try it but this man has given folks hope to make it until they do have the money. Good ole boys still wanna see folks racing and as long as you keep your word they’ll do you right.

Cool Interview. Bobby's right, I-55 is the best track in the country. Sit on the front row entering turn 3. You are less than 10 feet away. Might as well sit on top of the wall. Way Way Way Too Close. Wind is unreal. I-55 is a spectator tragedy waiting to happen. Good thing Schrader is rich. Because the day one jumps out of that joint, it will make the 1955 crash at Le Mans look like a cake walk.

    Bobby doesn't understand the #4 car. I don't understand the Wood/Stenhouse #17 car.
