      Awesome ❤😁 I'm so glad too, thank you so much for using my code ❤ with the ksresin now it's colder weather you might have more bubbles depending on wher you live. I had to pop bubbles with my heat gun every 15 min for 1 hour after I did my top coat. I would do that if you notice a lot of bubbles when you are mixing 🤗

    Thank you! I stopped making coasters because two resins I tried, the coasters stick to the mugs and glasses when lifted. After 1/2 gallon of stone coat for over $83 I still haven’t finished filling all of my coasters!!! I was able to fill the 13” tray and pour 3/4 of stone coat in 9 deep coaster molds. Glad I came across this video! Have you tried putting something hot out of the oven on coasters? I’m trying to make alcohol ink trivets for gifts and I’m having a hard time finding something that is heat resistant and scratch resistant for this purpose. Do you think these resins could handle a temperature of 400-450 degrees?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching, I honestly think resin isn't the best for trivets because hot pans and dishes are 300+ F. Resin is plastic when it's cured and I don't think it's a good idea to use items on top of it that are that hot. It might not hold up well. I know some people make them but I haven't tried it before.

    • @suew4609
      @suew4609 Před rokem +1

      @@naptimecreations Thanks for your response. The only thing that I have found that could possibly handle the heat of a hot pan is an engine clear coat. Engines get very hot and the paint is rated for high heat. I might give that a try, but I’m also beginning to think coasters are a better idea!

      Thank you! From your experience with this resin do you have a lot of issues with micro bubbles? I ordered from Extreme Resin and CANNOT get rid of bubbles. I've tried everything suggested. So needless to say I am looking for a better option.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Před 2 lety +1

      @@acethegreat the general use epoxy is a 1 to 1 ratio its a medium viscosity and it does have some bubbles.
      If you are looking for a bubble less option I would try liquid diamonds casting resin from the epoxy resin store. It's a 2 to 1 ratio resin and is a very thin viscosity no micro bubbles. It's super clear. There will be a few bubbles from mixing but they pop easily.
      Also what are you using to mix your resin? Wood sticks cause more bubbles because they're not treated or sealed. They leak air into the resin. I like to use a silicone spatula or a silicone mixing tool.

    The general use epoxy is a very basic resin that's why it is cheaper. I would Highly recommend better quality. Even their clearcast 7000 is only a few dollars more and has uv protection which the general does not. Well worth the extra few dollars. Their 7050 is even better for casting. But peeps please don't just buy a resin based on its price! The better quality is well worth it!!
