SUPER interesting to hear Prentice talk abt the moment he realized the mother of his child did not truly understand the blk experience despite partaking in the culture. It’s disappointing, but this is extremely common & exactly why I always say that making children with blk ppl is NOT an indicator of someone’s allyship. Tbh the idea of creating life w/ an individual who doesn’t understand my exp in this country as a BLK woman perplexes me.
Additionally I don’t think the yt colleague who asked “why r u upset abt a person dying that u don’t even know” is courageous. Blue pants said himself that if he didn’t belong to a marginalized group, he wouldn’t want to bc he’s aware that marginalized ppl receive a sub-par experience. Ur yt colleague is aware of that too - before even schooling him, ask him if he’d want to trade places w/ u. His answer would be no. The man is willfully ignorant. Funny how yt ppl never need to be “educated” abt the animal experience when a dog, for example, is hurt. They instinctively want justice for the dog altho they’ve never been a dog before right? 🤷🏾‍♀️ But for some reason they need dissertations & google presentations in order to understand blk trauma in America. I’m not buying it.

Excellent points made. Especailly about yt empathy for dogs. This is one of the reasons I save my energy and don't speak to them about these issues, because their ignorance intentionally ties into their inhumanity and lack of empathy, so they can maintain their positions of WS. WS can't continue if they see us as human as they are.
