This was my exact experience when I interviewed and worked for the data storage domain. Great info for those considering applying.
Nice!! Glad to hear it aligns to your experience 😄
@@TechwithLucyhey lucy can i know about the salary of cloud engineer

Very informative ! I am an undergrad and got an job offer also from big 4 as an analyst of cyber role. But I love to work on cloud hopefully I see you all in few years. yay 😄

Nice video. Tank you for putting images and texts on your video. It helps the non english speakers to understand better 🙏.
No worries! It takes me ages to add them in 😴, but comments like these makes it worth it!
Thank you for sharing the insights, can you bring on someone in a SysOps Admin type role next? would love to hear from them.
Adding this on the list of video ideas :))
Thank you for sharing this Lucy
Thanks for watching!
thanks you for the videos Lucy. Please keep them coming. Can you you tell me if there are any roles in cloud where you don't interact with customers? at least not on a regular basis?
More videos coming soon! 😀 Yep, an example is Software Development Engineers. These roles are more product-focused. They will spend majority of their time working with people internally, rather than AWS customers.
TIL! Really enjoyed this interview - especially the bloopers 🤣
Yay! Thanks for watching 🙌
This helps. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! 😄
Excellent! Thank You.
Tech Lead Pause. Amazing. Love you!

Hi Lucy, Can you please target 4-5 hours interview in more details? question, Scenarios etc.
The description in the video can be applied to so many jobs. I feel like I didn't actually learn what a AWS Cloud Engineer actually does lol...
Great video, very helpful 😀
🙌
So concise and detailed
😊🙌
Hey Lucy!! You are doing a great work.May i know the roadmap to become a Cloud Engineer
extremely useful insights
Hi Lucy, my name is Mauricio and I'm from Brazil. First of all, sorry for my english, it's terrible. I'd like to do some questions. The role for
AWS Cloud Engineer is the same AWS Cloud Support Engineer ?
When a person got a job like AWS Cloud Support Engineer, he or she receive some tranning to support a group of specify services?
THANK YOU GREAT CONTENT I WANT TO TRANSITION FROM MEDIA INTO DEVOPS ENGINEERING WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR A BEGINNER?
✌️Thanks for this Awesome content lucy🤞
😊🙌
How much networking experience do you need? I suspect new grads with CS degrees aren't going to have a lot fresh out of graduation or even after a year.
Can you please make a video on what a Sysops Administrator does?
Hi! Recently I received a job offer for a grad Proserve consultant job. Was wondering if you had any insights into how repetitive the job is? I'm concerned that the day to day doesn't change too much (e.g. Gain great knowledge of aws products but repetitive when it comes to client implementation) which really limits the skills that can be developed on the job!
Without having any personal insights regarding the specific job itself, it might be that the wisest move for you depends on how easy you think it is to get a job. If you think it is easy, or if indeed you already have a job, then indeed the details of what this new job position entails would be highly significant.
But if you're still new to the industry and particularly if you're still in need of experience, you may also want to consider taking the job itself and seeing how it goes. Either way, you'd be gaining actual real-world experience so that if the position isn't to your taste, you'll nevertheless have added experience to your resume - basically propelling you above many graduates.
You may also want to consider what skills you are trying to develop, and ask the hiring manager about the position about your expected day-to-day to see if it aligns with your goals - interviewing is a two-way street after all. Consultancy can be quite "flexible" from a job requirement perspective and, even after considering that, the company that reached out to you may have its own "unique" interpretation of what the job entails.
Good luck either way - other people may be able to provide more relevant insights. Fortunately, I don't think there's any truly "wrong" choices, and so I'm sure you'll do great!
Hi Lucy, as a cloud engineer, how have you managed to balance the stress of having to do on-call?
Personally I love on call then working 12+ hrs outside haha ❤
It does appear that the start to any AWS cloud role journey begins with the AWS solutions architect certification. I did the cloud essentials from Amazon and passed that but I believe doing the cloud practitioner then the solutions architect is redundant, correct me if I'm wrong, am I better off doing both or am I wasting time and money?
Hey , can you give us a rough idea about the pay if you are already working in technical support or even if you are new
Hi Lucy how r u. I want to learn cloud technology but I am non IT person so what you recommend me what should I do first? If I go with aws cloud certification experience is needed? Please tell.thankyou in advance,🙂🙂
Hello. Can I start a career in Cloud Computing from scratch with no experience in software?
Cloud = someone else's computer. Thats what I always say, which is why you need Operating System knowledge 😃👍 thanks for explaining this, we have similar style
Hi Lucy,
I am interested inearning AWS cloud engineer. Could you please advise where to start. I am currently working as an IPT engineer.
Are there any deadlines for AWS solutions architect internships ? When is it too late to apply?
Thank you so much for this
🙌
Thanks 😊
I am interested in cloud engineering but I do not have any experience nor certifications. What do you Recommend I start with to see if this path really is for me?
thank you for the video
Hi Lucy, I currently have a background in Full stack development, would I be able to get a cloud job with a AWS cloud practitioner cer?
I have 4 years of customer support experience. How should i move to technical role in cloud aws?
Hi Lucy right now I am trying to add
--CLOUD AND NETWORKING FUNDAMENTALS.
--LINUX
--PYTHON
--SQL(KEEPING IT OPTIONAL RN)
what else skills are needed to become a cloud engineer or to get a job as a Solutions Architect Associate or landing a DevOps role.
I'd recommend adding in security, storage, and databases 😄
Try automating tools for both provisioning and orchestrating. It’s a must for devops to know terraform and ansible beside python nowadays.
Also look at kubernetes or dockers. Tech industry is moving toward containers nowadays so it’s very important to know
@@tuyenhoang5546 yes i recently found out about the shift going on
Very helpful but can you please make a video like the same for AWS CLOUD DEVOPS ENGINEER and machine learning engineer/data scientist (in AWS)
Great Lucy. I want to be come and AWS certified. Where do I stand as a beginner? thanks.
very good video thanks
Can I work as a cloud engineer (as a fresher)after completing my btech ? Please let me know
Great Video! We love Bloopers!
Guess I gotta do more bloopers then 😄
Hey Lucy, Is this true that AWS jobs are saturated compared to Azure? Atleast I have come to know about this here in India..
She makes it sound easier than it is. First of all you need a Computer Science degree from a top school just to break into Deloitte Cyber Security. Then she obviously prepared a lot to understand network, infrastructure, and cloud prior to applying her knowledge on personal projects even before attempting interviews for AWS cloud positions. For people who do not have the luxury of attending a top school and being employed by Deloitte, you're looking at 3-5 years of IT Help and support roles just to get that first position in a cyber or cloud domain, along with having a much harder time applying projects, since some of her knowledge came from within Deloitte itself. Most new people will need security+, net+, and maybe even A+ if you are a complete beginner. She is so fortunate, but hard work early in life (high school) does pay off.
Loser
The information you shared is not true. I worked at the D. - in cyber. I worked with folks whom studied music or sociology and they worked in cyber at the D or other high end companies.
Practical Skills >> knowledge
how about a cloud computing degree
@@Saymriy 😂😂😂 this is hilarious 🤣
Do aws cloud engineers work remotely or travel to client sites / or on-site at AWS
Are teacher's good candidates for this type of job? How do you get started without a tech background? Thanks!!
Yes right, I work in Insurance industry and handle escalating customer issues. I am also in school for my Tech degree, because I want myself to get out of this “call” umbrella. I have an option to take Cloud computing specialization AWS or AZUR. Can you tell me, if all job involves speak with customer on the phone being a Cloud engineer?
hi lucy
What is the best path for me if I want to work for Amazon remotely
And Is this possible?
Since I live in one of the Middle East countries and there are no Amazon centers in my country
Do I need programming skills
I suck at program
Does the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification allow you to work a cloud job for other companies than AWS? Or just AWS?
key management services explain more and some sucurity projects that you can do as a cloud engineer Thanks lucy for your help
Thanks for sharing, Lucy & Elisa.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Can you be an AWS Cloud Engineer with ERP background and no coding skills?
I am a cloud support engineer for AWS :) great video
Hii 😊👋
@@TechwithLucy hi!
so basically a cloud engineer is one kind of a support personnel?

What kind of coding is involved for an AWS Cloud Engineer?

Thanks Rishab 😁
Can someone who studied Computer Engineering and who specialized in Software Engineering go into cloud engineering. ?
How long it takes to get it done?
Hi lucy and elisa,
first of all, thanks for sharing, but i have few question for this video:
can i for aws cloud engineer need programmer skill or other skill need it ? for aws associate level skill is fine?
can i have more detail on this role? any different with SA ? based you experience, which role is better and why?
sorry for ask too more question
Thank you
1. you don't need programming skills
2. aws associate is fine, technically NO aws experience is also fine
3. role is support based. you help customers within a specified technical domain in which you are assigned
Can you discuss about devops? Do you really need coding skills? I'm a cloud engineer but my skills are more on networking and security 😅😅😅
Please tell me do Cloud Engineers have 24/7 shift jobs???i work in a 24/7 role as Network Engineer and i am fed up with doing Night shifts due to my health issue, so is moving to Cloud Network Engineer is a good idea for me to work in General or 9 to 5 job?
Is this basically help desk but in AWS?
Does this work along side cyber security
Great 👍
Does Work from home available in AWS??
Cloud security engineer path and how they work ..make video
How do I get into this field?
This video help a lot what is the role of solution architect now i m want give exam. So yeah i need some discount voucher
Mam i am starting learning cloud computing
I wanna become cloud engineer from where should i start
Do you need to know coding in order to become a Solutions Architect?
Hi could u please tell the difference between cloud support associate role and cloud engineer role at aws? I think both of them have the same type of interview rounds.....
The cloud support associate role is usually the junior version of the cloud engineer role 😄
@@TechwithLucy thanks
@@TechwithLucy How best do you think one can transition from cloud support role to cloud engineer role?
She mentioned doing architect too, but can you interview an architect solutions associate/professional cert holder that is just an architect?? Thank youu
I have a few where I interviewed solutions architects before
Cloud engineer jobs are very less available than cloud devops engineer ? How does reality works in both.
I just got a job as a cloud engineer... I'm nervous, I start in like 4 weeks. Any tips?
Nice, congrats!! Focus on learning in the first few months - the tech, the processes, and get to know the team!
Hi Lucy,
3:17 - Did Elisa encounter Algo DS Coding test during the technical interview process?
Let me ask her and get back to you :)
@@TechwithLucy Sure thing, looking forward to that
“There was no coding test/DS questions in the interview for me but I think it could partly to do with the domain I was applying for - if they apply for Cloud Engineering role in let's say DMS (developer and mobile services) I would imagine you would need coding experience to support Amplify or Lambda (not 100% sure, my assumption).
I think it's good to have some coding skills for any cloud engineer role though because customers often have SDK related questions for any services.
Personally I had scripting experience from work + coding knowledge from uni prior to aws”
@@TechwithLucy Ah I see, thanks for the helpful info Lucy.
