King V was named after Robin Crosby of the band Ratt, he was called “The King” probably because he was so tall, also he wanted a Randy Rhoads but on tall players that guitar is awkward to play so he had a v shape made because it was more comfortable and stable for his tall build. Robin had hos guitar in Ferrari Red. Check out old videos of RATT. You might not like that kind of music, but so called hair metal pioneered all the early Jackson guitars.
He had what was 2 long tails of a Rhodes V put together. That became his. However Dave Mustaine we all know credited with the first major user. James Hetfield actually had a White King V which was broken on stage in 1985 the same year he got it, predating Dave Mustaine in 1986. Hatfield didn't use it until recently. Seen with it recording the album Hardwired.
I bought one in high school, but not the bolted steel. I debated whether or not to get that one, the solid black one or the one with gold pinstripes. I went with the pins because that one looked like Lotus F1 colors to me, and John Player Special Tobacco. I really wanted wanted Bolted steel cause it was used in Kreator's Hordes of Chaos video for Mille Petrozza. That was so badass but I knew I wasn't Mille Petrozza so I said no. I still have it. This old Jackson, I think was made in 2009 just rocks man. I paid 770 back then. I had a job and no bills cause my dad told me "if you want something you gonna have to work for it." Thars what I did. Great guitar. Just built for speed. Solid all the way around. Both my wings are chipped, uneven and shortened. Headstock gots some knicks and I blocked off thr Floyd so I can change my tuning to something else on the fly. Some questionable stains, some complmentary stickers to the color schemes. I do love this guitar. It's just Fast. And like I used to say Jackson Metal Supremacy.
It’s a 2010 model. I have the same one here in England. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it for sale second hand in Cash converters in Derby, England.

Hey um I have 2 jacksons in my closet sitten for 10 years A randy rhoads V and a purple kelly.
Purple kelly with dot inlays on the fretboard or pearl shark fin?
@@clanofhousecats8079 shark
@Christopher Snow I had a purple kelly with Shark fin inlays years ago. It was the bolt-on model but it sounded good.
