Thank you -- this is a very well-designed budget idea for a feral cat shelter, including gluing wood blocks to the inside floor of the plastic box. However, a few extra suggestions for people who are new to using these kind of materials -- such as the styrofoam box, straw and mylar -- it would have been good if you'd shown putting the straw onto the floor and down sides of the outside plastic box, and also putting the straw into the mylar-lined styrofoam box. Newbies might not know that once the styrofoam box is lined, then you still need bedding material inside it for the cat to snuggle into. Excellent warning not to ever use any fabric bedding such as towels, fleece or acrylic -- and to ONLY use straw (not hay), which does not get and stay wet, and also insulates the cat's body and does not draw heat away from it unlike the fabric materials.
Hi @lanialost1320. Thank you for the excellent suggestions. I did mention that I put straw between the boxes and inside the styrofoam cooler but you are right that it would have been a good thing to actually show it. This was my first feral shelter. I made 3 more later which you may see at the following link. I will link to the video in the description and perhaps it will give people more ideas. Thanks again. czcams.com/video/hn1dykbgLmA/video.html
