I'm liking seeing Jackson this much. And seeing him and Aaron be snippy with each other is satisfying. ^^
@holdenagincourt Yes! And this is where Adam comes in to teach REAL acceptance, genuine love and friendship.
As an openly gay man (Work, family and friends) in a civil partnership, I disagree with holdenagincourt. Aaron's "problem" is not internalised homophobia, but the stereotype of "campness" and "drag" in some gay men. Aaron is a car mechanic and his bf is a builder. I know of other gay men in many other professions and unemployed that don't resort to camp or bitchiness. The only qualification you need to be gay is to be sexually and emotionally attracted to men, not camp, effeminate etc.
Frankly I cant believe Gennie did that in the pub. Aarons just come out, leave him alone.
Aww I like that at least Jackson was able to joke around with Aaron a little! :) Don't hate Paul, but I can see that his feminine attitudes really set Aaron off. The boy just likes manly men like Jackson, different preferences.
Oh, the learning curve for Aaron continues...
I love how paul told aaron how it is. the way aaron was acting at the bar was uncalled for. paul seemed like a nice guy and is proud of who he is. aaron does have a lot to learn on that account.
thank God Jackson is coming around
loved the way james sutton said "leave him alone"
love Aaron!!
I love Aaron!
GODS LOVES EVERTHING THAT HE MADE.
@crackfox3 True,very true.Can I imagine Aaron dancing topless...? Yeah,that's so not a stretch for me haha!
Gotta love Jackson for his last comment!
Not quite a skinhead. Where is our beautiful Adam this week? I was just learning to appreciate him,and Andy and Cain and Ryan and all the handsome guys coming to the Wolfpack.
Paul calls Aaron a skinhead with an attitude before Aaron calls him a mincing queen. Yet because Aaron cuts to the chanse he is the bad guy. He also called Aaron a moronic thug. Seems to me the name calling was pretty even.
@holdenagincourt I agree with your comment. If he does not accept all the different aspects of being a gay man than he really hasn't accepted himself wholeheartedly.
@Chonen Just because you're not attracted to someone doesn't mean you have to be an ass to them, but that had more to do with Aaron's abrasive personality than anything else.
@dutchnukelover I've put my name down for the Woolpack float in the parade! heheh!
Aaron was reacting to someone eying him, whom he wasn't interested in. At least Aaron admitted to Jackson that he was out of line. The headline here is simple: Jackson Continues to See Progress in Aaron's Character.
Meanwhile, the contractor needs to follow Jackson's example and get the law to deal with Cain. Confirm that the bathtub was delivered and let the police get a search warrant. Headline: Cain Still Whacko (or the British equivalent).
I agree with older guy why spend yrs being ashamed of yourself
I wonder what it will take to get Aaron and Jackson together again. Their last kiss was clip 161 :(
Daffyd is NOT the only gay in the village, then!
@GOSMGR1 Ha, yea right can u imagine Aaron danceing topless on a flote in a pair of rainbow hotpants. I dont think so. Nice to see the contrasting shades of de gay world interacting at 7.30 in the evening to a mostly middle aged audience, very affecting. Still hav to remind myself im watching a soap sometimes, i hope late night dramas r taking note of how powerful and impowering this storyline is becoming for a lot of non sterotypical gay people. Loving it.
@GOSMGR1 hahahaha u crack me up with this one love
Aaron calling the other guy a queen.
Not cool. He needs to lose the attitude.
Oh Aaron. :(...but it wasn't all his fault...that guy ddnt have to say everything out in the open like that.
Blimey three gays in the village! They'll be organising Emmerdale Pride next!
@dave16124918 OMG I 100% agree with you!
A lot of you are rationalizing Aaron's internalized homophobia and in doing so I think you're taking away the wrong message from the episode. Aaron has to accept gay men like Paul (and the good number who are a great deal more flamboyant than him) because until he does he really hasn't accepted himself. He may not date them or even hang out with them, but he'll have to restrain himself from hurling abuse at them at the slightest provocation. All part of loving yourself.
Mmm... As an openly (work, family and friends) gay man in a civil partnership, I disagree that Aaron's problem is internalised homophobia re "mincing queen". I think it is more Paul's a more stereotypical "gay" and Aaron is not. LGBT people occupy more professions than ever before, but the stereotype is that Paul adheres to is camp and does drag, which Aaron cannot relate to.
@sobelius Hopefully never!
come on Aaron..Paul look so much better than jackson.
@Demetri450 His advice was that of a flaming queen trying to be superior in a basically str8 bar. Not appropriate. Neither the time NOR place. Taking Aaron aside privately would have been the MATURE Gay thing to do and not to present some stereotypical Gay "bar behavior". But again, this was provoked by some "well meaning" woman that has no idea what coming out means and sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.
GOD LOVES US ALL HE MADE ALL OF US. HE TOLD JEREMIAH THAT HE WAS THE ONE THAT FORMED HIM IN THE BELLY AND THAT INCLUDES ALL OF US. NO ONE PERSON IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER WHY WOULD'NT GOD WHO CONTROLS TIME AND MADE EVERYTHING NOT KNOW THERE ARE GAY PEOPLE BLACK WHITE ASIAN FAT SKINNY ETC WE ALL BELONG TO HIM AND WE HAVE TO ANSWER TO HIM ONLY NO ONE ON THIS PLANET HAS A HEAVEN OR HELL FOR ANY OF US LIVE AND LOVE YOUR LIFE YOU ONLY GET ONE.
