I can honestly say that I was best friends with an "Evie" - we'd known each other and were best friends since before Kindergarten. She had a pretty rough home life (alcoholic mom, asshole dad, she was often stuck watching after her little brother and twin sisters after her older sister moved out and more often than not charged with doing all of the cooking and cleaning on top of that... Even had to drive us home when we were 14/15 from a couple of places because her mom was too drunk to get behind the wheel.. And many other things like that), got into drugs (even though I was the first of our group to start smoking weed- age 12- thanks to my older brother), was considered one of the "hot girls" and lost her virginity at like 13 and only "dated" older dudes (like 17+).. We were a wild bunch, even though I was the Ugly Duckling in the group and never delved into the promiscuity aspect... Anyway. My Evie didn't make it. Her childhood & teenage problems followed her into adulthood- the drug abuse got worse, in and out of jail, largely unable to take care of her kids (she wound up having like 4 or 5 or something). We lost touch and hadn't been close in a long time. The few times I tried to reach out to her and reconnect, I got no response except for maybe once or twice. My Evie committed suicide this past October. I'm still heartbroken over it. "Thirteen" is one of my all time favorite movies. It's eerie how much it echoes that same time frame in my life, even though- like I said- I was already best friends with my Evie and our group of "wild, hot jailbait". I was definitely a Tracy, minus the cutting and dropping acid and stuff. And I never really got any attention from "hot" older guys. Again, I was the Ugly Duckling in the group heh.

They are children who are not mature or responsible enough to have sex and definitely not to be parents. If they were then more of them would have got themselves on birth control or used a condom. I myself was pretty mature for my age due to all the things I went thru in my childhood and having to take care of myself, siblings and addict alcoholic mother so I got on birth control at 15 when I got my first 'serious' boyfriend (who was 25 btw, im disgusted now with the fact that a grown man would fraternize with a young teen girl) but if the kids cant even make a solid attempt to use contraceptives then they truly are retarded. They should be no where near anyone's genitals besides their own. And if these children aren't smart or selfless enough to terminate the pregnancy then I really fear for this generation. We have enough issues in this country with the vanishing of the middle class due to the incredible amount of income inequality with the largest wealth gap in the world, among other socioeconomic factors that my generation and the next one of the kids your talking about will have to endure that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents didn't have to deal with. Right now is the worst time to be having teen unplanned pregnancies!!! But of course these pre teens and teens wouldnt know that because 98% of kids that age have no clue about the political climate, status of the economy and the predictions of the future. Hell im 25 and growing up I thought id have at least 1 kid by now, at a job that made decent money and owning or close to owning my own home. Those things used to be possible for the average 25 year old but not anymore despite working a lot of hours and my ass off. I have to choose not to have kids, possibly ever, its one of the only things we have control over at this time to affect the trajectory of our lives and to not bring an innocent being into the world to suffer.

I feel so guilty and skeevy admitting that I found her hotter when she was younger. I rationalize it by reminding myself that I've been crushing on her since I saw her in Thirteen, and I'm her age, so it's not that bad, right? She just had so much charisma for someone so young, and one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard.
