The same people that will tell you he's boring because he's the most overpowered character in fiction will turn around fast to say he's not even that strong when it suits them. Like, which IS IT BRO?
The morality gets hypocritical too. People say Superman is the boring boy scout and would be better if he was evil and then glaze All Might or some other character for doing the same thing. It's like Aqua Man. Some people just don't like that stories but most just hate him because it's a meme.

One of my recent reasons why i love Superman as of now, is that i seen bad people, assholes so often, i genuinely would be very grateful if someone who can destroy the planet with their pinky finger, doesn't. Superman is not boring because he's too kind (which is the usual argument.) But because we *need* kinder people, regardless of power. Superman is not really special (to me) because he is powerful, but because he is a mature, emphatic adult who just wants a normal life despite being basically a god. He's a hero because he just wants to help and make the world a better place.

@@user-gc3nk3mt3y Stories are stories, no matter how fantastical they still speak to something true about the human experience, different characters can embody different aspects of that experience. Superman represents an optimistic hope, altruism and the strength to smile and look towards brighter days even during the darkest of times. It’s not about the powers it’s about the people underneath who use them, and what they use those powers for. That’s a pretty mature and heavy exploration when done right. And it has been. I never hate on Superman because I can't think of a reason to! He is what we all should be and that's good and always doing something to help people! Superman is a hero who everyone should hang with because he gives good advice and wouldn't want anybody hurt or harmed! He would save anybody's life even if you're a bad guy! Even Lex Luther ends up showing respect for Superman because he knows he is the boat in being a superhero! How could anyone just hate Superman just because! Now Gambit does things to make somebody hate on him! Gambit is the opposite of Superman! Gambit thinks of himself,Superman thinks help others first, then take care of yourself

Not that’s not Gambit who is the opposite. It’s John Constantine, people think he’s really great strategist, but that’s just because he’s the biggest cheater. Batman will bend rules but he doesn’t brake them because still has a moral code. John Constantine this new problem killing innocent lives or acting cowardly to save his own skin. He sacrifice Zatannas father. Sold his soul twice to trick a two groups demons so it was even for a petty reason. Gambit isn’t pure of heart sure but he is still a good guy at the end of the day!

I think the hatred for Superman stems from a sour grapes mindset that grew in the minds of people growing up in the 70s and 80s. They looked at Superman and viewed themselves and the real world as lacking. This leads them to look for heroes who are viewed as the opposite of Superman. Heroes who are dark & brooding and/or fallible. Heroes who can be dragged through the mud (and come back up better than before but the current creatures seems to have forgotten that part). Heroes who can’t defeat their villains so easily. And because Superman doesn’t fit any of these criteria, they deemed him as boring, and then they preached it to the younger generations who then believe that he’s boring without understanding who he is.

I think Superman gets more hype and power than he really should have, but that's not really what drives my of dislike him. I don't think I've ever hated Superman either. I dislike him, but I think I've read too many Superman comic books, watched too many shows with Superman in them, to say I hate him. I watched the entire technicolor cartoon, and though I doubt I'll ever watch any of it a second time, if I HATED Superman I'd never have been able to get through it the first time.
I don't think his premise is that interesting, and it doesn't make sense in ways I personally just can't get past. To those who can, more power too them, butt the various colored suns, the various colored rocks, the comparisons to Sampson, Moses and Jesus, I can't sink my teeth into it. I think the Golden Age Superman, who was basically just John Carter in reverse, heavy gravity, jump good, was the best Superman and even Captain Marvel, Shazam, was more popular than Superman in the Golden Age of comic books. I reckon that because as wild and crazy as Billy Batson's stuff got, his premise was better thought out and more interesting than Superman's, or at least what Superman's premise became. Shazam asks us to accept magic, but magic can be whatever you want, just stay consistent once you establish what your magic is. Superman was asking us to accept the Sun was yellow, which doesn't even make sense in the story. Every power Captain Marvel had came with reasoning behind it. Superman just got abilities literally because a fan wrote in requesting he have it. Again, good for the fans, but I'm not among them. Captain Marvel was Superman done better, and I don't even like Shazam that much. In fact I think most of Superman's knockoffs are Superman done worse. Gladiator(Marvel), Homelander, Plutonian, Hyperion, I'll take plain old Superman thank you. I'll take many others over Superman though, including Wonder Woman, who is basically female Captain Marvel right down to the golden age tagline. That's not HATING Superman, it's just not caring for him. Admittedly, the golden age amazon super martial arts break the internal logic of universe just as much as "violet suns", but for whatever reason I can suspend my disbelief there. And for whatever reason DC actually has mostly moved away from that while doubling down on its bizarre take on visible light.
And I respect Superman, as much as I dislike him. He's basically a circus strong man in appearance, he reflects John Carter in origin, he's got two identities and a day job that ties them together. He's got a deep supporting cast and rogues gallery. He is distinctive, iconic. There is interesting stuff about him, I just can't get into it. I can't really sink my teeth into lantern corps(Alan Scott's...okay), or The Flash, or Batman or Teen Titans(Donna's cool, plot holes aside). I'm really not a DC guy overall, but even at Marvel, I really don't care for Thanos, Gwen Stacy, most Gwen Stacy clones or even Jack Kirby's signature creation, Galactus(and I think Kirby never intending Galactus to have a second appearance vindicates me). Still got into Ultimates where Galactus was a member of the team. Still watched Death Battle's Unicron versus Galactus. There's a gulf between not caring for a character and hating one.

Hell if we simply take a look at Superman's origin story we learn that he started off as an infant born into a dying planet who's parents made the ultimate sacrifice just so he could have a shot at life, who was sent out into space as the last hope of a dead planet and crash landed on earth as a lost orphan with nothing to his name but through an act of kindness was adopted by a kindly old couple who even though they stood to gain nothing by helping him, helped him nonetheless and gave him the best upbringing he could ever ask for and instilled him with strong sense of moral virtue simply because they saw a child in need

I'll say this as an oversimplification: a lot of people don't like that Superman is as Lawful Good as he is. They, however, miss the point because every time Superman alludes to "truth, justice, and the American Way" he's saying his version of "with great power comes great responsibility." If they think he's corny or old fashioned or too good, then Spider-man fits that bill too. It's kind of funny how they both have an arc where they deal with being who they are, end up in a black suit, and then have to contend with fake versions of themselves. Venom with Spider-man and clones of Superman after he's thought to be dead. At worst, you can call Superman too nice, but that's part of the point of Superman.
