(edit) For those who don't get why I said this because I called out Barry for using Colonial rhetoric. A simple explanation is Predators plus technology equals superior. Indigenous girl plus bow and arrow equals inferior. This rhetoric has been used to justify genocides, and oppression against the indigenous population including people of color and other minority groups.
I know it's a movie and some of you are replying and making jokes instead of addressing the issue of the rhetoric but, I think it's strange that someone's reason for not going to watch this movie is because of a colonial point-of-view.

I know exactly how this movie ends. All of the men in the tribe will be incompetent and at some point get horrifically slaughtered by the predator. The woman in the trailer will outsmart and rival the predator; ultimately killing the predator. The last scene will be a huge cliff hanger leaving room for another film. The end...you heard it here first lol.

Why does seemingly every film/tv show have the cringiest, teenage school project level of dialogue and acting? It's almost funny at this point.
I've figured it out, the predator spares her life because he likes playing hide and seek, not because he actually views her as a threat or a worthy hunt. He's just bored of slaughtering humans and wants to have some fun playing hide and seek with the stupidest one he can find.

People saw a girl and a native woman at that and stared to demean the movie and make jokes about it, now the movie turned out to be the best damn predator movie since the first one
Kinda reinforces the point of the movie in that people see the main character is a girl and are all like "she can't do it, she can't do it...' because all they see is a "weak" girl. They'd say the same thing about Alien/Aliens if it was made today. Totally miss the point that people's tendency to dismiss her is what she turns into her strength. And she doesn't defeat the predator through physical strength. She uses her wit and cunning. This is a David vs Goliath story in which David happens to be female. I thought the casting was great!

I understand that now days movies with woman protagonists are usually very cringe and politically motivated, and that was what 90% the comments expected it to be. But actually the movie was pretty decent, like her being a woman wasnt the main plot. The characters weren't plain stupid and had realistic conversations and actions. We all know the girl who nearly died to a bear is somehow some insane badass who will kill the Predator while everyone else is grossly incompetent and it'll end with her walking away as the sole survivor with a line like "there will be more, and I'll be waiting" to set up a sequel

So thankful to live in the 80's with all the classic action flick's. Nothing will top theses flims for they set the standard in film making.

I don't understand the hate. Predators can literally take on a whole squad of the most elite soldiers in the world today, and kill everything if they wanted. Just going around invisible shooting their cannon at everyone. They hunt humans because we're smart and can adapt and be creative, its all part of the hunt which is literally the whole point of the character (Predator). Even in the movie "Predators" when the one fights the guy with the Samurai Sword, he could have just had an Indiana Jones moment and shot the guy and kept going, but that isn't thrilling to the Predator nor challenging. I just feel like a lot of people are just missing the point.

How dense can you get. The predators gave characters like the yakuza, dutch and bill a fair fight because they see them as worthy adversaries. And Dutch barely won because of cunning and the yakuza actually managed to kill it but even he couldn't survive. There's no way in hell a predator would see a scrawny teenager as a worthy foe unless she's wielding a gun, which I'm pretty sure won't be the case

So take the era this movie is being told in. You have a Native American Tribe and a bunch of colonizers with muskets, and the Predator. Dutch even uses a bow and arrow in the first movie when its a one on one anyway, so your whole thing about needing a gun is already pointless, hell even the whole end fight was used without a gun. Plus Dutch is the complete opposite of a "scrawny teenager" and still had to use traps and out smart it to kill it, and Billy and the Yakuza were both trained with their weapons and again far from a "scrawny teenager" and they still both died in the end fighting it straight up, so i guess it really doesn't matter because fully fit adults couldn't do it either, are you even actually using your brain at this point? The Native American's definitely had and needed a lot more skill to hunt back then since they didn't have guns. So I can see this character being a better hunter than any of the colonizers and being more respected by the Predator over the colonizers. So really... how dense can you be? lmfao

So she developed a plan with the main objective to see/reveal the feral predator, created a house of twigs next to a bear shot an arrow at the bear with the intention of injuring him and making him furious (or showing the bear that she is a threat) The feral predator was watching over her and seeing what the bear was capable of, deemed the bear a prey worthy of having its skull ripped out.

I think it would be cool seeing how predators were born and raised. And see the ones who didn’t make it become janitors or some other career choice.
From what I know the ones that don't make it into hunters just die in the process or are cast out as fugitives. They have very limited rights according to the lore. I might be wrong though, it might be just criminals. But I'm positive that they work on the "survival of the fittest" principals. Hunting, killing, fighting and honor are the most important thing in their entire society. Gotta wonder how such a primitive violent race got to such an advanced technological level. How did they discover the technology to traverse space at such speeds, when they still build totems and wear skulls of their enemies around their neck.

Just today watched this movie. Excellent movie. Totally enjoyed it. Full of action. Complete slaughter movie. All action scenes are mind blowing, especially second half. If you are predator movie fan like me, its complete entertaining movie. Very good acting by all actors. And stop comparing one predator movie with other predator movies. All movies are good and unique. Just watch it and enjoy.
Predator 1 is the best hands down. I can compare movies if I want, don't tell me what to do.

So ya if her "Survival" skills rely on luck then color me unimpressed. Especially since she tried to hunt the bear and essentially set her self up to getting eaten, so yes I expect alot of plot convivence in this movie.

This movie should’ve been released in the theaters! Instead they released it direct to Hulu. This movie was epic and deserved to be seen on the big screen. Edit: Saw the movie, and I stand corrected. Naru's creativity and cunning really did make a difference, if a little odd how her plan had batman-like accuracy. Overall it was a good movie.

No one has, but let's set suspend our disbelief for a second, and say if the predator gets crushed by a giant rolling log some lady kicks off the top of a mountain, it's not that unrealistic is it, maybe just as real as an 8 foot invisible interspace travelling alien creature is.
Yes! A good movie to keep the franchise alive, thoroughly enjoyed this one, didn't think I would but it had me on the edge of my mattress the whole way through 7/10...a good watch!!!
I like the part where the Predator uncloaked, looked directly into the camera and said, "It's Morbin' Time." before bench pressing a grizzly bear and karate chopping a moose. This movie is an instant classic.

I feel like we just want these movies to have better and better plots but it’s all about the hunt. it’s not about the plot but about the thrill we get watching these movies. I am exited to watch this as it shows us the hunt in a setting where guns are not the norm, at least for the main character.
So, let me see if I've got this right. A special ops team equipped with a plethora of modern weapons is wiped out by the predator (original movie). But is defeated by a single 90lb girl armed with a bow and arrow! Hmmm.

This movie is like someone watched the last 30 minutes of the first Predator and said to themselves "Let's make a 90-minute movie out of that" despite clearly showing no understanding of what made those 30 minutes so special.
Dutch was a spec ops soldier who specialized in jungle warfare and after losing his entire unit, he realized he can't take the Predator on in a straight fight so he resorted to guerilla tactics by making use of traps and camouflage, as well as making use of his remaining ammo to fashion an explosive arrow. It was essentially Rambo vs Space Hunter.
Pocahontas is a literal caveman with absolutely no experience in hunting or combat, as shown in the bloody trailer, yet they expect us to believe she can take on an alien from a species that specializes in hunting the most dangerous game, armed with technology centuries ahead of ours.
There's suspension of disbelief and then there's shutting your brain off entirety.
Plot twist: The predator didn’t see the girl as a threat, he was saving her life & trying to give her hunting tips but she was so offended because he “thought that she couldn’t do it herself” that she kills him.

This movie is taking some really hard hits due to the fact that the lead is a woman. I have one word for that. Ripley. The first Alien movie came out in 1979, and she kept coming. No one had the woke response compared to this new movie, that by the way, no one has even seen yet. I get it, I really do. But as a true lover of the Predator franchise, I say give the goddamn thing a chance before you start tearing it to shreds. Lets also keep in mind that Predators were hunting in the 18th Century, too. It's a movie meant to entertain. If it doesn't, then you can complain. :)
