Wixoss Starter Decks Overview - Wave 2

- Wixoss is releasing 4 new starter decks alongside the next set, Glowing Diva. So should you be interested? This video introduces the teams of LRIGs featured in each deck, as well as covering their strengths and weaknesses, both as stand-alone decks, and as a base to build off of.

An excellent overview. My plan was to buy the Universe's Beginning deck and then modify it to be more aggressive. Nova=Supernova reads as an insane finisher to me.
That sounds like a cool idea for an aggro deck. If you have a strong concept for a deck, it can sometime be worth it to build outside of the dedicated teams. So you can use Nova=Supernova in a deck with red for more aggressive ener burn and removal. Or you might find there's enough options with freeze-based strategies in blue to push in damage. Either way, it's a lot of fun to maximize for a card that you think is really cool - I still have fond memories of trying to make Peeping Analyze work.

I really love how starters in Wixoss are actually important to buy, not a pile of jank that exists only to teach players the rules and then be thrown in the closet and forgotten about. Although maybe that's just MTG trauma talking.
Thanks for the video! I'm excited to start playing more of this TCG, but wondering where can I see competitive decklists for these decks to get a glimpse of what should look out for when modifying these Starters?
There's a jp website called WixossBox that lists tournament-winning decklists. It's all just links to twitter images, so you actually need to know what the cards look like to figure out what they are, but it gives a decent overview of the meta, and the most important cards.

Diagram is a really cool team - there's a ton of options in which direction to go when you're building them.
I'd like to see a series on playing on a budget.
My experience in Wixoss is a bit weird - I was fairly competitive in the early days when the Webxoss fan-made simulator was online, but that ended well before Key, and since then I've been mostly playing with starters, older lists, or lightly modified decks still roughly at the starter deck level. So building a functional list on a budget was never really something I've done. That being said, I do want to start making more videos digging into deck building, and part of that is definitely going to involve building on a budget, since I love budget decks and rogue decks. Thanks for letting me know you're interested - feedback definitely helps me figure out which video ideas to prioritize!
Does anyone know a good online store that have started selling wixoss and have international shipping. Best if in North America?
Ho so starting with glowing is a good start ? I was worried because I couldn't get any Interlude Diva here but i'll buy from US for Glowing (and tax and shipping will cost a lot...) Anyway thanks for the analysis !
Interlude is kind of in a weird spot. I'm half convinced (with no real evidence) that it was designed after Glowing Diva to help fill in the gap between the last set of Key format, and when the Diva(a)Live anime was set to air, since you'd want to release Glowing at the same time as the anime for maximum hype, but there was a pretty huge time gap with no releases at all. Either way, there's not a whole lot you're missing out on by skipping Interlude, unless you love vtubers.
what would you say is the strenght or the focus of the first 2 precon decks?
I cover those decks in more detail in czcams.com/video/-Z7YNXkKeRM/video.html, but broadly: Ancient Surprise is ramp that leans late-game. They accumulate resources, and force through large amounts of damage in the later stages of the game using their Piece, and useful ener-sink SIGNI. It can feel a bit midrange, since it does have a few early tools to push damage as well, mostly in Tawil's Assists. Nijisanji is a weird aggro deck. It tries to be a bit midrange, but the starter configuration is much more efficient at pushing damage early with its level 2 Assists and piece as a finishing blow.
This game looks so awesome and I really want to start investing in it. Please tell me where I can buy cards
Finding a good source for cards can be a bit tricky - I've still not found a shop I'm 100% on. I've sourced my cards from a few different shops in the US, and while most of them save a certain Chicago-based shop have been generally solid, none of them have a great set up for shipping internationally/to Canada. Side rant: why is it easier, cheaper, and faster to ship from Japan than it is to ship within the same freaking continent?
Do you have to buy multiple starter decks to get a playset of certain cards?
Nope. One of the things that I've loved about Wixoss from the start is that their starters come with full playsets of everything included. Although I'm tempted to double up on No Limit, just because Lancelot goes in so many decks.
Just getting into this. Would appreciate advice on where to play online.
If you figure it out, let me know too! As far as I know there's a card game discord that has a small corner set aside for Wixoss that sometimes can fire games? And there was an actual automated simulator which I used quite a bit, but it's been dead for years. My luck finding games online has been pretty abysmal so far.

Real question, how many trial decks to make really competitive deck?
If it's No Limit, just one. Other decks... can't really be competitive without a few booster additions. All starters come with full playsets of everything, though, so you'll never need to buy more than one of each.

Wixoss decks have full playsets of all cards included, so you'll never need to buy more than one. You will need to add some cards from boosters - most notably the second Piece card. And there's the usual power-level concerns when you're taking a starter deck against a more tuned deck - but yeah, since each deck comes with full playsets of everything inside, and they're playable out of the box, you'll never need to buy more than one of the same deck.

@@lordyubel9845 Yugioh's still not bad - at least they put some worthwhile cards in their decks. There's way too many magic decks released out there with nothing but chaff. Hope you enjoy Wixoss, and yeah, hopefully sometime we're able to battle!
