$1 Batting: I purchase, at the thrift stores, the queen or king sized white FLAT flannel sheets, and use them for my charity quilts, instead of the more expensive 'batting' that one buys at the quilt stores.

  • @marym2811

I really like this method, as I seem to be drawn to quilts with a lattice look. I can see it also working for a "quilt as you go" quilt. I always seem to have white fabrics on hand, so I could use those in place of the pink squares and just cut them as I need them (unless I get lucky and find a suitable sheet at the Goodwill, lol).
Thanks so much for this video!

If you run out of triangles, you could fold under the edge of the last strip and top stitch it down. This would give you various sizes of the pink triangles on 2 edges and create a similar block.

This one is interesting, I've never seen the middle left naked or with the base fabric showing. You've given me an idea. My poor husband kind of sudders when I get "ideas". 🤣 I have a 100% cotton Tommy Hilfiger sheet that I've looked at and gone hmmm and put it at the bottom of the pile. It's a nice soft yellow. I think I'll cut it up and do like you did. I LOVE string quilts. I thought I'd use that sheet for a quilt backing but now I've got a plan, I think it cost me $2 at the Salvation Army on half of day. Thanks for the idea.
