It goes to shoe you cant kill the GM 3800 series 1 this was the exact reason GM quit building the 3800 it was bullet proof if maintained properly. GM was the only manufacturer that could build a 3800 V-6 and by the way it was a Buick (231CID) 3.8L V-6. Fords Essex 3.8L Garbage, and Chrysler 3.8L was good Gm. Was the best of the three. Chrysler's 3.8L was second in excellent reliability. Fords Essex 3.8L and the new 3.8L V-6 used from 1988-1994 was no good head gasket eating engine.
