The Player obviously chooses to fight, though Chara DOES get corrupted eventually, she even advises you to kill a kid before fighting Undyne, sooo I wouldn't say she is really evil, she's more or less following our lead.

Gaster is one of if not the most interesting characters to come out of a game in the last decade. I don’t know why, but the Russian subtitles when he speaks at the start just make him cooler. Amazing animation as well.
