seriously volkno is the best song i've heard this year and im not even a treasure stan.
Everyone is entitled to have opinions. I respect yours. As for me personally, this song hits hard. Especially learning about the lyrics and the meaning from Korean reactors who can understand the puns and word play. Also this song is 🔥 in a concert. TREASURE performed in their Hello concert and it gave me chills. I can’t wait for TREASURE to tour in the west! Glad these boys can take risks while creating their music and following their dreams!

I disagree. I think they were trying to get a Mad Max feel with how interesting the fashion is. I also liked how different it feels compared to most K-pop songs. But hey, that's my opinion

this mv in my opinion is unique. it's so "weird" and unconventional. i mean rapline is riding semis like a cowboy and WALKING semis like a DOG! what they're saying is it ain't nothing to them, they pull big weight like nothing. they're the best in the game so it's easy for them while for others, it's difficult. i actually really loved the concept, it's dirty and grimy and everything i wanted when i first heard they were dropping a mv to the song. i think this is super original for kpop. i mean we don't get a lot of heavy rock sounds in the first place but heavy rock paired with rap?? come on.
The MV is not inspired from any western/ American movie or artist, it is inspired by a 2008's KOREAN Comedy called The Good The Bad the Weird
In the movie The Good (Yoshi ) is dressed up like a cowboy.
The Bad ( Haruto) is all dressed up clean
The weird ( Hyunsuk) has a very messy look. They fight in the desert....google
The grills were made Sur mesure by a very famous Grill brand who also made for Lisa, Mino and now Haruto, Yoshi and 2 for Hyunsuk. It's a partnership and fits the concept of the movie they were going for.
They made the song and I don't know why you guys are being so judgy, you always say that new artists don't explore anymore and do the same thing, they explored and personally by favorite song of the album 🤷🏿♀️ And the live version is 😙👌 can't wait to see them perform it on MAMA

I had been waiting for this reaction but yikes. The song is super innovative to what YG artists usually do and it's a brave step the boys took when you take into account that all the failure and criticism would fall solely on the three rappers, imo they ate and left no crumbs and the concert version is even better, they are making their own sounds and are trying to make their own name as rappers and as a group

We all have our different opinions. As of now, I'm not into this whole Kpop thing. Since most are either trying to be poppy western or just doing the same thing over and over again. To me, this one reminds me of Japanese pop culture. And I like that this trio decided to go for what they felt they wanted to do. And I honestly like it better than other releases today.

this mv is so true to the three boys and i know it was their vision. they also wrote and co-composed the song so i’m really happy they got to express themselves. i love the song and the mv is really fun
I have seen the Treasure Rap Line perform this song in concert & it is fire. At first I really didn’t like the song/video, but it has grown on me. This is not the entire group, just the 3 rappers. They have their own style. Go back & watch the older videos. The 3 guys style is a little different
they have supported treasure for a long time, so they know it's not the whole group and have watched their older stuff, I agree that the live performance was majority amazing, I loved it a lot, but I personally still don't like the mv for the reason's they stated
I totally respect your opinion & for my opinion, as a yga stan, I really loved the song especially the references they made to their seniors is so crazy, full of yga references. Not for everyone but for the yga stans who actually understands all the references from the lyrics it made us feel nostalgic

This is my favorite Treasure song and it's their most interesting mv with actual theme and direction. There also so many homage to their favorite artists TUPAC and their seniors 1TYM, GD & TAEYANG, MOBB, etc. The lyrics are wiity and rap can only really be appreciated if you understood Korean
I respect your all point of views and here are some of my thought:
1. I think for a very long time, since 2000… till now ( that’s how long I can remember things in my life), every time we mentioned HIPHOP, we gonna think and link with the image of braided hair , cap, chains, grills,… all over the world they did it. Because they love it so much that they want to look like the original (in this case, black people), I don’t think that they want to imitate someone the hate that much. No intended offense here but I kind of not really understand why so many famous people in the world used to do but no one say anything and just recently, Korean artist get hated for that 😢😢😢
2. Yes to you and to me as someone did see the golden time of this kind of vibe, it’s nothing new, but to new generations, to the youngsters, this is something new. I think it’s necessary to have someone do some old vibe stuff to keep people remember the beauty of all music genres.
3. I think songs/music/ Mvs are not necessary to always have some clear meaning or concepts. Sometime we just need sth fun to enjoy, that’s all.

Cool. Totally respect your opinions and believe me I ain't even lying when I say it's the best mv of this year for me. Finally something different in 4th gen than those same beat change or poppy sounds. And not everyone can have same music taste that's given but definitely could've framed your words better , because I can definitely see some edgy opinionated people in comments who don't even understand the inspiration and significance behind the song commenting .
They don't understand it, but even, it's strange because they don't understand it but they don't just give an opinion, they reach the point of pointless criticism.
In my opinion, if Treasure imitate anyone, then only their older colleagues from YG. What is actually said in the song itself.
And you didn't even bother to look at the translation of the song.
So for YG, this concept is not new, and the guys themselves trained to sing and compose such songs long before their debut, only they had a chance to release a song with such a concept only now. Why? Because there are a lot of members in the group and some even minors, this also to some extent prevents showing them everything that they want to show. So if you are not familiar with the work of YG rappers, then it is clear that this will seem something unusual to you. For us, YGstans is exactly what we have been waiting for.
Volkno was written 2 or 3 years ago. And was Hyun Suk's solo song, but he remade it for a rap line
hope this doesn't sound rude but their older YG colleagues are trying to imitate black people too so, some of the biggest offenders in kpop of making almost mockery of black people and black culture come from that company...
@@wezo5383 it just so happens that rap was invented by black people. And everyone who wants to rap is copying black rappers to some extent. Even Eminem. So can we talk about imitation if someone wants to express themselves through rap?

People usually bang their head when they don't vibe with a song to try to at least find the rhythm. So if the headbanging was consistent it hits if it's not rhythmical it ain't hitting hope that helps

It doesn't make sense to you because you don't know the meaning behind this song. This is not a mess this song is full of yg references, these boys really paid homage to their Seniors in their company and that's what I love about YG artists they always make songs with references from their co-artists' songs. And they really showed the true color of YG here, because this is the real YG sounds like, Yes it's heavy and they made it to the point not to sound the very usual KPOP sound. I guess you're just so used over the usual KPOP sound and not ready to hear it differently. But then again you have your opinion I just want to congratulate these boys for writing this song because they are brave enough to show their talent not just to sound KPOP but also to express in other genre.
I wasnt into VolKno at first, but man, I just watched their 2-day concert and VOLKNO is one of the best in the setlist! It will keep you up, jumping and screaming. 🔥

Honestly to me this was one of my favs on the album and lots of Teumes agree but of course your opinion is valid! But for sure wasn't a disappointment for most of the fandom
For people who are not familiar with who YG is and what they stand for you need to go take a walk in the history books if them and then you will get the picture. They have never produced an IDOL ever they just get clumped under the K POP umbrella. the evidence is there for you to see. Name me one artist from that company who is even close to what an IDOL is supposed to be. People forget that PSY with Gangnam style was originally from YG the owner of YG wrote Gangnam style for him. BIG BANG is not an idol group neither is 2ne1.
This is a rap unit song to keep the YG legacy going, it has many YG artist references even BLACKPINK Treasure loves their stable mates especially BLACKPINK and their cover of BANG BANG BANG is incredible. With this VOLKNO they wrote the lyrics themselves and took part in producing it🔥they released behind the scenes and even Mino from winner went to the set to cheer them on. That is the difference with YG they are family and support each other. When Treasure Haruto released a tiktok dance channel with LISA that garnered 10 million views.

i appreciate the TREASURE & the song for being different but I share the same opinions as you guys. We have seen TREASURE pull off concepts but I do feel this was dated and it didn’t hit home so much for me. I’m sure there are others who would enjoy this song a lot more than I did and there’s nothing wrong with that too. Was just sharing my opinion on this.

I’m trying to catch up with all your videos and had not seen this. I saw Treasure at MAMAs and the guy with the grill kinda turned me off and even more so in this video. I hate this attitude he portrays because it’s like in the states and i dislike it with American rappers too. With that said I truly enjoyed the other 2 rappers and liked the performance in MAMA. I love JinkJin and i think it’s called Hello but I’m still on the fence on how I feel about Treasure music overall. Again they held their own at MAMAs 2020 but still????

hyunsuk made it for his solo debut about 2-3 years ago, but after that he change it so it would fit with the rapline. He made it with "YG style". That's why some people maybe dislike it, but for VIP and YG very love it cause it brings back the "Old YG style hiphop".

I'm a Teume and I love the song but the MV is a big no no. It's too "edgy" for me. And I hate that Hyunsuk wore grills or whatever those are. I agree that it's like a parody. It's too much. It did not look badass. It did not look cool. I wish they never released a MV for it. The song was great. The MV is just BAD. Thank you for keeping it real.

@@victoriab98 and that's okay. It's entirely subjective, up to preferences. Maybe back when I was younger and into Linkin Park and SOAD and the like, I might be into the MV as well. I am a big fan of Mad Max as well but the MV did not work for me, I did not feel the Mad Max vibe they were trying to get at.
