I feel like people are underestimating the amount of time and effort this all takes on a regular basis. It’s not a hobby it’s a lifestyle for people. I was born in Ukraine and I’d visit my great grandma at her cottage outside the city and she lived similar to this, hen house, cats running around, huge property with different fruit trees. She did everything herself. And no toilet so she only had an outhouse and a pot to go to the bathroom in the house. Most people think this is an “easy” lifestyle but it’s actually so much work that most people these days could not handle.
That's what I find so envious about it, the hard work is justified because you are working entirely for yourself/family. You are surrounded by nature and don't have to put up with the vain and petty lives of people who you don't actually care about. A chance to start fresh and really appreciate life.
A kind of fulfilment can be gained from this kind of work that cannot be gained elsewhere, at least in my case anyway.
I would love to be able to own a farm, but unless you are born into it or are rich, its hard to start.
I think most people understand the hard work & sacrifice it would take to live this kind of life, and find meaning and reward in it. I know that I personally wouldnt mind giving up creature comforts (my parents & grandparents had an outhouse too) & working my fingers to the bone if this is the trade off. Anything worth having takes hard work and sacrifice, I think more and more people are starting to realise this 😊

I share the same thoughts. My family is from Mexico and where they live is beautiful. Tourist romanticize it as "rustic" but the truth is it's hard work growing your own food, sowing your own clothes, taking care of animals and plants, etc. In Mexico your kitchen is out side and you shower outside. This is okay because it is hot but living this way is not easy. I think living the way we do now, myself in a big city, is not easy either. Myself and countless people I know work two jobs and sit in front of a computer screen for 12-14 hours. It's a different kind of hardship. I think the way we are living now is unhealthy. Trying to find a balance.
Agree. I’m half Polish and half Ukrainian. As a little girl I spend summer vacation at my grandparents house in Ukraine. This is how suburbias life looks like. But the smell and taste of the food made from scratch is nothing to compare to. These days from the past are priceless to me.

И конечно используют для аромата помещений, одежды, в косметологии протирают кожу лица используя как тонизирующее средство.

This is hard work. I have 5 acres in the US and do not (yet) have to process gallons of vegetables so my family doesn't starve every winter. After eating fresh veg all summer, I processed 144 cups of vegetables for me alone. Takes 2 pounds of carrots to dehydrate down to one cup for storage.
I may wish I had more gallon jars if I have to feed my 11... 2 million calories per year. But 8 ounce jars don't need refrigeration. And 36 pint jars of pickled vegetables are delicious. 24 8 ounce jars of pickled jalapeños! 12 8 ounce jars of apple pie filling for tarts. As you can tell, 144 jars filled up fast.I need more jars.

I think it is because they are always doing something. Older people do not spend their day watching tv or on the internet: they clean, cook and build things. The hobbit house was made by their own hands it was one of their first videos. The brick cottage as made by them as well, alo the wood oven that looks like a tree. And if you watch most recent videos you'll see a greenhouse, a pantry, a bigger outside kitchen and a tiny river with a tiny bridge.. all inside their property and made by themselves.

The last couple of years I've been making rose petal jelly. It's been so easy, with the town I live in having hundreds of rose bushes planted everywhere. The jelly comes out tasting a bit like peaches, with a lovely floral scent and a gorgeous pink colour! In the early to mid fall, I go back out and harvest the rose hips for drying, and use them in tea during the winter. I just love cooking with roses!

Правильно говорите. Все своими руками. Воду таскают, греют на огне. Будешь работать, будет достаток дома, не будешь- лежи голодным😅. Городским , иногда чайник на газ ставить лень. Дай Бог , всем здоровья и лень покидала нас😅👍🙏

I guess this is the years supply. Ive done this a couple days ago with honey suckle flowers. made a syrup for drinks and pancakes. Using flowers is always a lot of work since you have you use a huge volume of flowers to create a lesser volume of product. Worth it though. Having something floral to add to anything you like is a nice treat.

As a younger homesteader, respect. My great grandma lived on an old farm where they didn’t even have electricity, she cooked on wood and scrubbed her cloths on a board, til the day she died. She was nearly 100, I remember visiting her and she was an amazing woman, part of what inspired me to live the way I do. There is nothing easy about the lifestyle, but the hard parts are all also beautiful, the work is worth doing itself, the beauty and harshness of life full circle keep you connected to the real wisdom of the frailty of life.

@@toonschitz Do you think this old lady has been making youtube videos all her life? haha her grandkids or great grandkids figured out they could make a youtube channel out of her life, and it happened very recently. If my great grandma was still around I would totally document her life, so many things she did came from harder times and with the frailty of our world it is worthwhile to document the way people found beauty and made beauty out of the harshness.

Wow beautiful, I loved it totally. In India, Rose is used for making sweets, perfumes, cakes and also while decorating your hair with flowers. In my native language Odia, we call rose as Pattaļa or Golapa, from the Hindi word Gulab. It comes from Persian Gulab.
In Sanskrit, it's Patalam or Kantakadhya.
Is Hindi India national language?
In Indonesia we have many languages, but national language is Indonesia language.
Gulab is not a Hindi Word. It's a combination of 2 Persian words 'Gul' means 'Flower' and 'Aab' means 'Water'. Earlier this flower was not found in Indian Mughals and other invades from Turkey, Iran and Central Asia, brought this flower to India along with them.

For those who don't know what Gulab is:
"Tea with Rose Water
Rose water (called gulab in Azerbaijan), on its own is virtually tasteless, but its aroma opens up tea in a unique way. Gulab not only makes tea particularly fragrant, but it also perfumes the air, which is why some tea houses here smell as if one were in a rose garden. The amount is up to you, but I personally add one teaspoon of rose water to my glass.
Traditionally we serve tea with lots of small rosettes of different sweet preserves: pomegranates, strawberries, blackberries, mulberries, cherries, olives, eggplants (yes, you read that right - sweet olives and eggplants), walnuts, watermelon etc. And of course, you can add some lemon slices to your glass of tea and choose some traditional sweet pastries as an accompaniment, such as pakhlava, sheki khalva or shekerbura." -Baku Magazine website
