For those who have never been climbing, let me explain: it’s wayyyy harder to climb down a natural wall than to just keep going, simply because you can’t see the holds below your feet. It’s not like at a gym where everything is neon purple.
It's true though. In this case you fucked either way. You cannot go down, because that is more dangerous than going up. If you can't find any place to use protection, simply continue to climb up until you find one. It's also a good life lesson: IF you have safety nets, you will be more lenient on your goals. If you don't, you will achieve those goals no matter what. In this case, if you don't have a safety harness, you will be a lot more cautious and you will do everything in your power to not fall, your entire body and mind is focused on not falling. As such, apply a "no falling" mindset, isntead of a "Oh shit what the fuck please help me I can't find a safety hold" mindset. Focus, don't panic. Really, blows my mind that people don't understand the meaning of this video.

@@danielathayde i mean i would never climb without safety equipment unless i can see a crack where i can put my safety equipment
But what this guy said is if you choose to continue climbing be more careful than you usually are. If i found my self in this situation i would just go down.
Edit: as an other guy said going down is more dangerous so the only thing you can do is continue to climb very carefully

It's hard not to be stressed hearing that interstellar music. Especially when the music is designed to make the listener tense up.
Bro does the no fall mindset
I PANICKED WHEN HE LOOKED DOWN
Man really just said "Don't fall"
Genius!
No, he doesn't. he's saying to not panic, and to focus on climbing up. Don't think about falling, just think about climbing and finding a safe spot. Think too much about falling, and you will not focus on your feet and hands, leading you to fall.
@@WelshSwordsman it was a joke like damn
@@WelshSwordsman Telling me not to panic when I'm 30 metres up a wall is like telling your imaginary girlfriend to "calm down".
@@WelshSwordsman Except it’s pretty shaky advice when you’re already at that height in the air on an unpredictable rock. It’s like telling someone “don’t panic” while they are at gunpoint.

If you've fallen it's too late. You need to adopt a "don't hit the ground" mindset.

"When I'm worried about falling, I simply don't fall"
I wish i could do this. I was taught the "all fall mindset" the idea is that i fear the IDEA of falling, so instead i jump off, now i dont have to be scared of falling, i just have to be scared of dying. It works pretty well
