- Woah! It's the Mi band 6, already? Well yes, it is!
This time around I surely didn't expect to already see Xiaomi launch the Mi Band 6, but since it's here... let's have a look!
This time around the Mi band (once again) does not have any major upgrades. It does have one significant upgrade which is a 60% percent in screen size, which doesn't look like much at first sight, but it's quite a big change. Other changes include the addition of an SPO2 sensor to measure blood-oxygen levels.
It now also has a total of 30 fitness trackers, which is a significant difference from previous generations. What also seems to be new is the ability to see previous workouts, something I did not see on the Mi band 4 or Mi band 5.
It comes with bigger storage and ram sizes compared to the Mi band 5 as well, as it now has 2 MB of RAM (4x) and 32MB ROM (2x).
And last but not least, it also has a sleep-breathing analysis, something that previous generations also did not have.
Overall it does have a few improvements, with the display being the most significant visual change, but this time around it's not a MAJOR upgrade...

Did you upgrade already? Can you still use the strap of the mi band 3 for the mi band 6? I wanted this strap available for 3 but i dont know if it will fit 6. I saw somewhere that the 3 strap can fit the 4 which can fit the 5. But its a lot of steps and i dont know if it will actually fit the 6. But i really want that strap.😅

That's why I hesitant to buy this product especially I always jog every morning and using my germin watch for Bluetooth music .

I got every mi band since the first one.
SPO2 is the greatest novelty and for me enough to upgrade. It helps to have accurate anaerobic values and burnt calories.
I gifted every previous gen to friends and family so nothing goes to waste :)

My brother got me one of those while I was in the army. I never had a smartwatch before so I quickly fell in love with it. It’s a great little device with many applications.
I'm a basketball and badminton coach so am very happy this has both in the exercise list. I currently have the Mi Band 4 so will upgrade to the 6. Loving the bigger screen. I'm happy I skipped the 5 and also happy you can use the same bands as previous generation.
The screen size and the oxygen sensor is definitely worth for me to upgrade from mi band 4 to 6 even though a bit pricey. I may wait couple of month, no need to rush. Thx for the review!
I still got my MiBand 4. I have been using it to track my cycling activities and its still good! I think ill replace it when the MB7 comes out. Not much of upgrades from 5 to 6. So ill wait for the 7! 🤗
I was gonna buy the 5 but held out because as a dancer it didn't offer me much, as soon as I saw all the new workout modes I knew the 6 was for me (core training, stretching, and obviously dance make up the bulk of my workouts) can't wait to get this!
Same! I'm a dancer too, also love to do HIIT, and another cardio activities. I was thinking to buy the mi band 5 last month, but I heard the news about mi band 6 that will release on March. So, i decide to wait. I believe I will not regret the mi band 6, since I know it will be very helpful for my workout and dance acitvity.

I have the MI band 4 and I did not see MI band 5 how it works and all. So in my opinion MI band 6 has an huge upgrade.

Great video! I'm really satisfied with my Mi Band 4, the things I miss are a AOD just for clock and multitasking, as it's impossible to use a workout and music at the same time i.e...
The only upgrade this band needs is ambient light sensor for automatic brightness setting. Without it, it is really difficult to increase the brightness if you are already outside.
I started using Mi Band 2 back in 2017, then when Mi Band 3 got released in 2018, I switched to it because it had a bigger screen that can read notifications and more functions. In late 2019 (Nov-Dec), I changed to the Mi Band 4 as the Mi Band 3 battery became shitty and lasted around 7-8 days instead of the 2 weeks+. I'm still using the Mi Band 4, and it still gives me a battery life of around 12-15 days despite almost 1 and a half years. I think I'll get the Mi Band 6 as soon as it is available here in Malaysia. :)

The Mi band has been the sweetspot for what a tracker needs to be for me. I've had the 4 since launch, and think I'll get the 6. The bigger screen and a magnetic charger is worth the upgrade 🤓

@@ales426 the screen is just huge on honor 6, that is the biggest advantage you can read the text clearly. The battery life is also much better. Just go and check for yourself.

I had the mi4 and then went up to the 5 and love it. Not enough of an upgrade in terms of form or functionality. I think I will skip the 6. But if prices drop under 35 euro might just get it for the collection. Great clear video ty.
I think the same as what you said in 7:40~, the 5 wasn't much of an upgrade, but the 6 over the 4 might be, but then I saw the price, which is 10 to 15€ extra than what I got my Mi Band 4 when it came out.
Mine still works fine, so if I really get the 6th, I will be gifting the 4th since it would look like a waste not to use it. The upgrades from 1 to 2, 3 and 4 were so big I didn't have that feeling. I skipped the 5th for that reason.

I used to have a Galaxy watch, but it was too heavy on my hand and uncomfortable while sleeping with it.
Now I have a Mi Band 6, and I'm thrilled with it, the truth is I miss some smart control options with other xiaomi smart devices but all in all a great device at a good price.
Still on MI band 3 and love it. Will upgrade when they add music and standalone GPS.
They might not add a music player on it it'll make it more expensive if they add bluetooth as well

@@meric12131415 I doubt if the issue is the price. I believe they are setting it up for the future maybe. Remember there is demand to have a release every year and these companies are avoiding giving us the obvious untill it is absolutely necessary. Apple have perfected this approach
Lately, Xiaomi has been making smaller changes in mi band. And I guess they have reached a point where they can't really think of any big changes. I bought mi band 1, 2, 3 and 4. The difference between these generations were significant enough for me to consider upgrading. But mi band 5 didn't bring much to the table so I didn't upgrade. Mi band 6 doesn't seem like a really good upgrade either. The bigger screen and the SpO2 sensor are great additions but they are not enough to make me upgrade from mi band 4 to mi band 6. Hopefully mi band 7 will add more features that will make upgrading worthwhile. I really can't think of what Xiaomi can add to improve the device though. Mi band 4 pretty much has all the features one could want.

@@TheHamzaalikhan it's not close to accurate on the mi band 6, it's just to give you an idea so I think if you want more accurate heart rate readings by a long shot go for apple
Totally agreed. Still wear 4, wife wears 5, and the only reason why i would by it - charger. Hate to pull out the thing every time I need to charge it. BUt still that's not enough to replace it.

I use Mi Band 5, and so do a lot of my friends. One of them showed off their Mi Band 6, and at first, I was kinda jealous, but then I realised that I could just wait until the Mi Band 7 comes out and use it on him.
I have the mi band 4 and love it! Although, I would love if it had a sound if u somehow lost it or for the alarm function. Pointless to have a function to find it if it vibrates! Sticking with the 4 until that happens.
I'm missing the following in the review: new auto-detection mode on the Mi Band 6 for six activities: running, walking, treadmill, cycling, rowing machine, and elliptical.

Update:
My wife is asking me for my birthday wishlist and the 6 might be in the running. I like that it now has the sp02 monitor and thats mainly the feature I want which should help with my workout and cycling. Plus I don't want her to spend too much 😁. The 4 served me well and my daughter will definitely appreciate it as well.
5:05 So it looks like it will finally be possible to see the time of day during a workout (in the Mi Band 4 and 5 that is displayed in black on orange in a tiny font, it's unreadable), although it still looks like the font for that time (not workout time but the actual time) is very small.
Can you now use the music controls _during_ a workout? Because that was another thing that I find annoying on my Mi Band 4 (and was also disable in the 5 IIRC).

I will get one for my son and myself, the last mi band i bought was mi band 3, so it will be a big upgrade for me. Finally it has the basketball sports mode that i had been waiting for, nice.
I had band 2, I think the only things that are still lacking from this update are awkward screen to body size and the lack of gps. I mean if the screen style change was to match the body of the band, then it should be near 100% screen to body ratio.
Although, I think I will get this one rather than waiting for 7.

I think it's a great upgrade from the mi band 4. I owned one and lost it maybe a year in after visiting a lake. Snagged a misfit command and love it, but it's quite rough on media interactivity. Mi band 6 would help that. Sadly it does not integrate well with strava or Google fit

I've had the mi band 4 for a year now, i gotta say it always did whatever i needed and wanted, but it has a few slight problem which is the step counter, when im sitting still in a car, it counts steps, and underwater the screen lights up sometimes without me touching it. Other than those i totally recommend any of the mi band series
Would be great if you could test its accuracy. I've heard that the swim tracker isn't very good.. would be nice to see you using it to test sleep against an independent device for example

@@MrMrzlcu actually there is a nfc version but it is only available in China. You will need to do a lot more steps in order to use it if you in Europe

Hopefully they add a blood pressure monitor function too in the future. I'm still very satisfied with my miband 4, its battery life is superb lasting about 25-30 days on a single charge.

BP monitor sensors on budget bands are just a gimmick and can never be trusted. Better go for real BP monitors if you want to monitor it seriously.
