    Great review Anthony! I love the power and sounds that engine makes and the looks of the refresh. Disappointed that BMW cheaped out on some elements for a car in that price range. Hope that you are doing great always!

    Why did they get rid of the shifter? Who the hell wants to flip a button to change gears? I always use my right hand on the shifter. Ridiculous.

    I'm glad actually to hear you say about the softer, slightly boat feel of the suspension. That is exactly what cars need, not stiff, harsh tyres and suspension. Unless you're in a country with great roads, cars need suspension to make a comfortable ride. How many people actually drive around corners at speed? The vast majority of driving is for mundane purposes, going to work, shopping, school etc. I personally am sick to death of low profile tyres and stiff, firm and harsh suspensions. They have no practical applications and as an added bonus, if you hit a pothole hard enough, you deform your alloy wheel.

      @@tomy8339 I agree when a person buys a luxury sedan this is important and the 540i adds the power.

    You can spend a little more and get a 840i. The 8 is the best looking 4 door out there. The interior quality is amazing and you still get the favorite buttons and hard buttons for climate. I would definitely go that option if you can spend more. Saw a new 5 in person a few days ago and was not impressed. I am a BMW fan but don't like the direction they are taking.

      I’ve rented the 8 twice in 840i trim. It’s my favorite current BMW. It’s about the size of an E38 short wheelbase, which you definitely appreciate as a fan of that car since modern 7s are a foot longer and 1,000 lbs heavier. It’s the best looking car in the lineup and the attractive interior suffers none of the G60’s cost cutting. The chassis stays planted and the legendary B58 plus the ZF8 is the best powertrain in the business. The flat cornering is achieved with an impossibly plush ride. I’d go so far as to say it’s my favorite ride and handling compromise of any car I’ve driven. Only con is the 8 gran coupe is just as low as the coupe, so tall guys like me will have to contort around the A-pillar getting in, and headroom is not abundant. Minor tradeoff through- it’s a classic BMW.

      The pros are thought the video
      -smaller 7 series, more luxurious and faster than the competition
      -upgraded sound system is price less (big pro 😁)
      -plush drive
      -soft seats
      -the most seat adjustment compared to any competition
      -fun to drive
      -more tech with 5 g
      -the iconic sounds that come in side
      These are a few points I talked about with more through out the review 👍

    Good review. This is the spec I would choose. Unfortunately sharper handling comes at the price of ride quality and I live in the land of potholes and uneven pavement. If I had smooth roads, I'd def go MSport. Thankfully, BMW has ditched the runflat tires for these narrow sidewall modern cars.

    Im looking at 540i for $78 or 530i for$67k....leaning toward 540i is it worth it? Thinking to trade in my 22 full M sav. Too rough bouncy ride for me. My problem is touch screen and auto start, stop...bs

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The 540i is worth the upgraded price in performance, it’s smooth but the auto start/stop unfortunately is a problem I have too. The touchscreen I didn’t like when the started them on the iX but I have found it to be easy to use. The pixels are not as sharp but if you want performance and a smooth ride 540i. 530i is good but you can feel the difference.

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  Před měsícem +1

      The m340i is better, this when pushing it on the bends it feels like a boat but the m340i stays plated. Both are fun vehicles however interior is a lot better with the 5.

      @@HawkeyeRides Well the E90 with sport feels more like a go-kart than the E60 sport but the E60 actually corners flatter and better with Dynamic Drive despite feeling larger and slightly more numb (but not a boat). Then again back then the 3 and 5 actually weighed the same, and those days are long gone. I’d have to drive the G60. I’m no fan of its looks, but I was pleasantly surprised by my time behind the wheel of rental G30s. They felt surprisingly similar to my E60, only without the steering feel.

    Its bizarre the quality drop from the G30 to the G60. The buttons feel cheaper, the plastics are cheaper, there is less leather, no soft touch on the bottom of the door. For a 5 Series, completely disappointing.
