Btw LIKE THAT is a gift song from Charlie Puth. Charlie Puth gave Babymonster a song because Ahyeon's cover 'Dangerously' (Charlie Puth's song) was viral in Korea. Ahyeon did the cover on the last evaluation. Because of Ahyeon's cover, Dangerously got an award on melon or something and also charted again in Korea.

If anyone is considered the "main" singer it would be Rami. Both her and Ahyeon take the lead with the vocals when they are practicing. Keep in mind that in this group it breaks the norms in K-pop since BABYMONSTER in an interview said that they will be like their seniors and don't have an official leader of the group. There is also technically no "main" or "lead" in any category since at any given time you could say that one member is "main"

Ahyeon was sick likely she hurt her vocals. She was missing for more than 7 months not just a week. She missed, Batter Up, Stuck in the middle and their Christmas cover, Christmas without you,
It was not for her vocals since it doesn't take that long to recover. She was already noticeably missing from BABYMONSTER socials in July 2023.which even with surgery like Adele she would have been back in three months. They announced October that they were trying to select the right track for the group but it was at that point they didn't know if Ahyeon would return to the group. It was more likely that she stepped back because of mental health from all the backlash that she was getting in June-July. She tried to apologize for what she did and I think that both her and her friend got into trouble for it. The apology was posted by her friend but was immediately taken down with her friend having to apologize in posting it in the first place. It was more likely that BATTER UP was meant to be their B-side and SHEESH to be the title track and their debut song. Ahyeon had stated, "It was hard to tell you in detail, but it was psychologically difficult. I devoted myself to recovery and ate well at home and exercised steadily. Thanks to the encouragement and support of the members and fans, I have fully recovered now." Meaning one of two things it was either for mental health or there was something that seriously made her sick. She was seen with her mom at a restaurant by a fan saying that she looked like she lost a lot of weight which was the reason that YG tried to delay BABYMONSTER's debut for as long as they did because they were hoping that Ahyeon would recover in that time. But whatever it was it got her sick enough that got her weak which means that it is less likely to be a vocal issue.
@@JamesKaneshiroDesignSamurai no way. I have had comments from vocal coaches that it is likely to be a vocal injury as she was not trained as a High range vocalist. The switch up during the last evaluation was considered High risk and she paid the price. Mental health? You must be joking. She trained for 5 years to debut and she is mentally a leader. Born to lead. There is no way in hell she would not debut if she could.
@@getgreatstuff88getgreatstu8 She may not have been trained to be a high vocalist but have these vocal coaches watch her actual performances? Also, what song that they have currently released would have put her vocals in danger? The fact that Ahyeon doesn't really show phudical strain when hitting high notes is unlikely that it is a vocal problem.
Do you understand what pressure that she must have been under in June when there was a backlash of her performance using the "N" word? There was so many comments about she shouldn't debut or some of the worst comments about how she shouldn't be allowed to live. She wasn't allowed by YG to apologise and when her best friend tried to post the apology, had to be immediately taken down with Kaeun having to post an apology that it shouldn't have been leaked since YG wasn't going to post it. With all of the hate and also getting her best friend in trouble with the company it can wear a 15 year old regardless if you are training to be a leader.
The other thing could have been a physical ailment since during her hiatus she was seen by a fan at a restaurant with her mom. The person wrote that she looked really thin and sickly. She wished her a quick recovery and Ahyeon wrote her a personal note thanking her for the well wishes which is posted somewhere on a social media platform.
The thing is that if you look at the timeline of when things happened, YG at first made it unclear if or when Ahyeon would return. They were not sure if Ahyeon could return or not since they were supposed to debut in September but it got delayed. They finally mentioned in October that they were trying to choose the right track for their title release, not debut track. In November is when they finally said that they are going to debut in that month but without Ahyeon. At this point Ahyeon had been missing from BABYMONSTER's social from the ending of June which means if you are correct that it was something to do with vocal then it would have already been 5 months. Adele blew out her vocal chords, had surgery and was back to fully singing ability in 3 months. The fact that she completely disappeared from any of BABYMONSTER's social and the fact that if it was only a vocal issue then why wasn't she at the BLACKPINK Finale concert in Seoul with the rest of the members? The concert was Sept 17, 2023 and even if she was just recovering from vocal, why wouldn'[t she be attending the concert with the rest of the members? She wouldn't have to do anything that would strain her vocals. That is one of the reason that the vocal reason doesn't make sense.
