I don't want to hate anyone because of their music taste, but it's kinda hard when the guy with arguably the hottest takes (geez, I wonder who...) is the reason my favorite Anime OP of all time is not #1 (literally if he had given Kyouran a single point more, it would tie for first, like I know he has his own taste, but atleast give Kyouran a 4)

@@bambouxd May I ask if you know his scoring methods? Some of the scores I feel can only make sense if he's strictly judging by the song and not the actual openings themselves and that is still a stretch. Giving a 1.5 to OPM S1 and a 0 to the Promised Neverland which both objectively have really good animation is insane, even if you argue music taste is subjective.
Edit: I do think he has some good takes time to time, but for others I unironically think he's trolling xD

batal is what u would call a person with no taste he doesnt have bad taste he just doesnt have any taste to begin with or maybe he was forced to counteract the higher scores who knows but everyone else was great so i will take an 11 out of 12
I might as well critique Batal too. I get being critical is a positive but sometimes being overly critical compared to all other judges creates inconsistency in polls. At first I thought we just had opposite tastes but eventually it became clear it had a lot to do with how popular/overplayed an opening was. If it was from a relatively mainstream anime it would very rarely be rated over a 5.
I think Batal doesn't likes shounen. Almost no song from shounen got more than 4 except a few which got 5.
I think when the voice sounds like a 12 year old then it will be better then a 6 for him.

@@bambouxd Nah, id be fine with having a lower opinion but their scores were overly critical and a lot of people took notice to the extremely low scores they gave compared to everyone else. Not liking a song is like a 5/10 or 4/10. Batal not liking a song would be a 1.5, that's crazy. Scores like that should be reserved for songs that are fundamentally flawed, not just disliked.
@@UA-ek7hz I mean, it just comes down to the scale everyone uses to rank, some uses high scales and it causes no problem.
On my part I consider a 5/10 being the average, a mid song, so lower being songs I don't like obviously.
Also I think he considers the songs he scored low being flawed, because he doesn't like them. In the end it is only a question of personnal and subjective taste, this is what music is

For starters, I love this video idea. This was really interesting and entertaining. On a side note, I think Kuma and I may be anime opening friends. I agree with like 95% of your scores. Haha.

you realize that since it takes averages, if batal averages say -4 lower consistently but still fluctuates his scores accurately, the ranking order is not effected
everyone else was rating probably on a higher scale while batal was rating on a 7=famous anime op scale

That's not even remotely how it works. If you switch his scores for the Chainsaw Man op and Angel Beats op for example, the later drops below #20 and the first goes in the top 10. On the top of the charts where the scores usually even out a single score with that discrepancy makes a huge difference.
Thats why in most sports where a jury is rating the performance, the highest and lowest score is cancelled out (e.g. Diving, Figure Skating, Gymnastics) to not have a single rating affect the end result as much

You're just seeing your point of view. The goal of a Party Ranking is to have multiple people with DIFFERENT tastes, to rank anisongs, and batal is a perfect example of someone unbiased with a taste different from the majority.
The fact that we are 12 in this party ranking, makes it as if Batal (or someone else), puts a bad score, the global score won't be this much affected.
He is needed to widen the taste panel of the party ranking members, which is far more interesting and fun, even if your favorite openings suffer because of it

I was always a judging person and never respected every opinion, seeing Batal with these rankings is making me think that if this guy is trolling or not as he rates the last in almost %80 of the songs. Batal is so inconsistent with his rankings, this guy literally just voted to be different from everyone else. The rankings would be so much better without him. Example: how does gurenge get rated a 4.0. That is arguably one of the best ops and songs on this list and he rates it that. Without his vote this is easily in the top 10-15
