58 year old here and I sure do thank you for making cutting my first Avocado a success! And made my first salad with Avocado, Avocado oil, hard boiled egg slices, shredded red cabbage & carrots, cherry tomatoes, pink sea salt and bacon bits...just like our friends made on Christmas eve. Honestly, I have never cut myself cutting avocados with my hand and being on the board like you are, that’s a good idea, but I could also see someone getting injured that way as well otherwise it all about paying attention and not being in a hurry

I’m glad you added tips to keep people safe while doing this. I would also like to add that you should keep your fingertips curled when cutting anything with a large knife especially. If it can cut through an avocado that easily, it can cut through your skin just as well. Better to lose a little skin on your knuckle than to chop half of your finger off.

Easier way to remove the seed is to push the skin side of the avocado inwards, the seed pops right out

The size of the knife would not be my first choice. I cut avocados daily and always use a 5 inch paring knife. Understanding how to use a knife is key. I always hold the avocado in my hand while cutting. All a matter on technique for me and personal comfort preferences... If you are accident prone? Listen to Jessica!!!
