Wow, that's amazing. I never knew how reasonable it was there. The video of you guys driving around was beautiful. I can see why you chose to be there. I make a little over $900 a month, which here in the US is a joke. Our gas prices are $2.99 a gallon, food is outrageous, we pay $75 for electricity, internet appox. $65, the phone is $45, rent runs $1000-1550 for just one bedroom, etc. You can guess life here is getting too tight. Thank you , James. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe.

Whilst you video is very informative it has some cognitive bias attached. Cambodia uses the US dollar as it currency so the cost of living in Cambodia is dependent on the exchange rate between your income currency and USD.
I currently live in Thailand as a Brit and have to exchange sterling into Baht which has gone from 74 to 44 baht to the pound. However, for the last 18 years I still have managed to live in Thailand very comfortably on less than $500 per month.
An alternative to health insurance is just to put aside say $50 a month in an account and when any health issues arise pay for them from this. Day to day health issues will be easily accommodated its only if you need to stay in hospital that the costs may become an issue.
