The entire Wachen 2013 set of Nightwish is off the charts. Every song will drop your chin to your chest.
Tuomas (keyboards, founder, composer) started playing piano at the age of 7. He was going to be a biologist until he went to a Metallica concert and the rest is history. And, small world, Floor also wanted to be a biologist when she was a child. 😊🤘

That ending part, was a tandem glissando, Floor covered 3 octaves, Marko(yes the bass player) 2 octaves. The studio version , from the 2004 Once album, originals lead singer Tarja Turunen era, only had his slide. Same album Ghost Love Score is on.
Yeah, that purple guitar is Emppu's baby, a custom ESP EV-1. Here is one of the few times he really shreds, though perfectly capable he , and the entire band, play what the song needs. Romanticide is one of their heavier songs. Yes, different from GLS, every song is different, but still has that Nightwish sound.
Marko is an awesome singer, he was lead singer in his first band , Tarot. With NW, he sang mostly backing and co-lead, but sang lead on a few, including "The Islander"(Tapere 2015 concert for video) and the cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes"( Helsinki 2005, End of an Era DVD). Unfortunately he decided to leave the band in 2021 , for personal reasons, after 2 decades.

Metallica was the band that made Tuomas a metal fan. It happened in Kansas 1992:
"I was 15, living as an exchange student in Kansas for a year. I saw Metallica and Guns N’ Roses there and that was the turning point. I wasn’t keen on going to that show because I had a lot of prejudice towards those bands, but that one night pretty much changed my view on music. I became an instant Metallica - and metal - fan.” -Tuomas in Blabbermouth interview 2018.

I like this one more too. People suggest "Ghost Love Score" for a first listen, because it shows more of Floors crazy vocal abilities. By the way, I was at this concert and it was an evening I will never forget in my life. Try anything from this show, they are all bangers! Greets from Germany!
You are right to say that this song reminds us of Metallica. In this same concert, "Ghost River" clearly reminds us of Van Halen. ps - Marko Hietala is an excellent vocalist. Listen to Nightwish's tribute to "High Hopes", a Pink Floyd song, when Marko demonstrates how good a vocalist he is. Wonderful!

There is actually nothing to add, Nightwish is in a class of its own. Fun Fact , Floor was with her own band support for Metallica in Amsterdam last year and then there was another Dutch band who were allowed to support Metallica in Amsterdam The band is called Epica and are a bit harder than Nightwish , suggest you Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith . Next to Nightwish a band I support without thinking twice.
Also, the lead singer of Epica, Simone, has been good friends with Floor for over 20 years...

No, wai... the heart is already melted and OVER IT (Romanticide)... it's just a face-melter, I guess.
I love how, at the peak of her glissando, the sound team kicks in a delay/repeat so when she rolls down off the highest notes (variably reported as a D6 or E#6) Floor is able to sing a brief harmony with herself as the repeats follow her down... really gives that 'Love is falling apart and descending in tatters' kind of feel.
Anyway, is this only your second NW?

Un coucou de l'armée NIGHTWISH de France, avec un peu de retard très bonne réaction et analyse à l'écoute du plus grand groupe du monde pour ma part Mesdames. Vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor pour la seconde fois, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin. Je vous souhaite de bons floorgasmes et continuez vos réactions nous serons toujours derrière vous pour vous soutenir pour notre groupe...... Encore plus d'écoutes s'il vous plait...... Merci. Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Vous avez maintenant écouté la 13 ème et la 11 ème chanson du set, ensuite faites le Ever Dream qui commence comme une douce ballade voix piano et sur un signe de Marko ( le bassiste ) continue d'accélérer pour finir comme un train à grande vitesse et par la même occasion de faire la connaissance avec la voix de Marko, ou alors du plus lourd avec Ghost River pour entendre le mélange des voix de Floor avec Marko ou encore plus rock avec un refrain qui reste longtemps dans la tête avec Storytime..... Et je pense que notre ami Gabriel Bardac devait arriver sous peu, ou être déjà passé ( Un grand MERCI à Gabriel d'avoir repris le flambeau de notre regrettée Anne ) cliquez sur son nom et allez sur communauté, vous pourrez suivre sa liste en toute confiance avec les meilleurs mixages à la bonne vitesse et avec le meilleur audio mais ce n'est pas une obligation, juste un sage conseil pour entendre une petite partie du meilleur du groupe. Continuez les filets du groupe sont tendus et il vous sera très difficile de vous en sortir, plus de NIGHTWISH s'il vous plait et bienvenu à vous deux...... Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards), our metal Mozart 🤘I love Marko and Floor singing together, and that Marko's dirty growl voice yes 😊But always I remember that Jukka's drumming 🥁and his unique style. I started to wear head bandana because of Jukka and I love that style. The current drummer is Kai Hahto, Jukka's good friend. He is also so good and professional drummer. But I miss Jukka 😌Nightwish is going to release their 10th album later this year and I am so waiting for that. I have all Nightwish albums since 1996 and nothing prevents me to get the latest one this year.

A fantastic liveband...with the best front woman and vocalist for a band i'v seen in my long life with music. The music genius behind the music is Tuomas Holopainen Who plays the keyboards. Indeed, there is a touch of Metallica in this. Tuomas loves their music. During this year, Nightwish will release a new album and the little birds said that it is heavier metal. I was absolutely nuts here and I'm waiting for its release like the rising moon🤩🤩! I can hardly wait, I love heavier NW songs like tribal, song to myself, Devil and the Deeb dark ocean, you are the empty hope, noice.. i really like you reactions, I see you liked what you heard and I'm looking forward to where your journey takes you, I ordered your channel so I don't miss videos😉.

Tuomas loved Metallica. He, like me, grew up in the 80s and 90s and that era Metallica inspired him to make music in the first place.

Seriously try Halestorm "I am the Fire" or "Love Bites". Lzzy Hale is a powerhouse.
I often say Ghost Love Score is not the right song to start the Nightwish journey. It's so different and for many too long that it might throw you off early on. Storytime and Ever Dream are way better starters in my opinion.
And ladies did you get my suggestions to react to my favorite symphonic viking metal band from Finland wintersun I sent you? I haven't gotten a reply from you. But it's ok I will give you that list here under the comment section now . The first suggestion is wintersun sons of winter and stars 1.5 official lyric video. Next is wintersun time live rehearsal video at Sonic pump studios in Helsinki Finland. Then is wintersun land of snow and sorrow live rehearsal video. Comparing to metallica is fine. Tuomas has a lot of influences but has said if there was no Metallica, there would be no Nightwish.
He was going to be a scientist, but after a foreign exchange trip as a student, a family in the States took him to see a Metallica concert. He was all music after that. 😊😊😊
