I did Corpo V then had him join the Aldecalfos with Panam. It felt like the ultimate progression from a life of material slavery to true freedom on the road, and understanding that the road to joy is never what you expect but always more than you could hope for

IDK V's boss trusted him to pull off a high profile internal assassination so that tells me he's had him do similar dirty stuff in the past I got the impression that V was only reluctant because the target was one of their own and a superior to boot. merc work is a lot cleaner then the shit corpos pull and at the very least V has the freedom to turn down any job.

Remember entire parade quest ? Apparently Corpo V can just tell guard on entrance that they are from counter-intelligence and you gonna have free access to walk until you rise alarm by planting bug XD

Corpo gives you a huge advantage in dialogue with arasaka and other corpo types. And nomad gives you a deeper interaction with pan am and the aldecados. The streetkid life path is the least rewarding.
It actually gives you insight to how the gangs operate, giving dialogue options pertaining to them. Corpos know what’s going on inside the corporations, street kids know the streets.
Bladerunner, the original and remake got me into the Cyberpunk genre. Also, as I've gotten older the aesthetic really appeals to me. Thank you for the content brother!
"Altered Carbon" on Netflix is also a really good one if you like this genre.

I'm probably gonna go Corpo my first time around but I was torn between that and Nomad for a while. I like to immerse myself in whatever game I play and Nomad is the closest to what I know and grew up with so I am interested in exploring what that would be like in this setting. Decided to go with Corpo since I more prefer a formalized military-style vs edgy teenager "punk" stuff.
Ok so I played at least the intro to the Corpo life path and I was very underwhelmed. I had played both the Nomad and Streetkid life paths and corpo just seems boring in comparison. Unlike Nomad, there is no action and unlike Streetkid there is no sense of an established history with V or the feeling of an underdog. With Corpo, you’re just a person apart of a big system that just takes orders. But maybe that’s the point. You go from being this lapdog to your own boss.
It hurts so much to rewatch this everysingle point you made im like "NOPE dosnt happen" corpo lifepath dosnt have any significance whatsoever after the prologue beside adding interesting dialogue to that specific life path
Corpo lifepath dosnt affect your relationships with people at all you can go out of your way to tell a few that you worked for a corp and they act like they couldnt care less or have mild suprise and move on with the conversation. Even johnny dosnt react as strongly as he should when states that you were a corpo hes in the shoes of somone that wormed for the very organization he dedicated his life to take down.
Even when you try to role play and do coperate actions the game punishes you for it like taking bribes from people will negatively affect your relationships with people like judy for example but its not the fact your a corp its more about you didnt kill the tiger claw bosses like she wanted and took maikos money.
To me they showed favortism towards the nomad lifepath given that they have the aldecados, panam as a full romance, and a dedicated ending to it. In corpo you cant join or at least do jobs for any of the corperations, only corp related person you can romance is meredith who should have been given a more prominent role and the devil ending is made out to be the "bad" choice like i should have to feel pu ished for role playing the way i wanted.
The only reasons I see to pick Corpo are:
1) Apparition, an Iconic weapon only obtainable during the Corpo prologue (and none of the other life paths have any exclusive gear like this afaik)
2) You get to start with 48k free eddies.
I've tried all 3 now and all my future characters will be Nomads, always. I prefer Dying Night anyway. I'm not saying it's the absolute best gun in the game, but try a headshot build with the gun mod that eliminates all vertical recoil and you'll probably be saying it yourself.
Personally I started with a Street Kid since it feels right to start with being a Hug Fan of Saints Row. I now will go with Corpo next then Nomad tbh.
I'm torn between this and street kid because one had you start from nothing were with corpo it's a fall from grace and a redemption story were you fight back against the corporations that betrayed you also I much prefer stealth it feels strange doing stealth as a nomad and a street kid

This is my first time playing any game from the cyberpunk series and I’m starting out at as a Corpo. I’m really interested to see how this is going to play out. Great game so far, really impressed with the little nuisances
I wanna save the best for last which is corpo cause I absolutely agree 👍 with this video. Reason why people are picking nomad for the first playthrough is because people like the idea 💡 of a honest and family 👪 oriented person (basically a morally Good person) who is a outsider is going to night city for the first time trying to make a name for himself. The nomad story reminds that cliche story type where a farmer 🚜 boy/girl who came from a family oriented background is going to city for the first time trying to make a name for him/herself. Street kid honestly seems kinda unrealistic however since the game is kinda like GTA crimes-related story style I understand why street kid is a thing and I know street kid opens alot of city interaction with night-city various organize street gang. At the same time I like how street kid lifepath acts like the middleman between nomad and corpo. Now corpo is definitely the best life path outta of the three and absolutely agree with the video that you explain. At the same time story and scenario wise its very realistic and believe-able because all three lifepath basically have a common storyline which is that cooperation giants are your enemies and what other best way to take on a cooperation giants is basically understand and know how they operates. In other words the best way to beat/destory a cooperation is to a corporate veteran who knows the in and outs. Thats why I'm definitely gonna play coperate but gonna go all out in coperate storylines.

Original Tron and Bladerunner movies got me into cyberpunk, though the genre on the big screen has change quite a lot since then, lol
For the cyberpunk got a hold of when I played the PS1 ghost in the shell game then ghost in the shell excluding the 2022 movie, other movies like aeon flux, and ultraviolet, and both the original and remake of total recall
I work corporate, but came from the streets (East London UK), so I can totally appreciate the corpo start.
I almost picked street kid but I’ve played games where your basically a street kid nvr played a game where I used to be apart of a corporation plus it’s more interesting to take down corporates after they kick you to the curb

Nomad for life , I'm older so what got me into cyberpunk was actually cyberpunk. A friend introduced me to the pen and paper game years ago. I was disappointed when they first said nomad wasn't a class in 2077 , but later when they said it was a life path. well I was back on board . Corpo and street kid isn't even an option for my first run .

Why? I’m doing nomad on base PS4 and it’s not pretty but the story seems ok so far.
I played the original and cyberpunk 2020 pen and paper game.

I think eventually I'll try them all. Initially I thought I definitely wanted to play as Nomad, but Corpo and Street Kid are really enticing to me as well.
When I played The Witcher 3, I eventually replayed it and made different choices to see where the story would go. Games like these have a lot of replay value, which is why I enjoy them so much. Lots of interesting stuff can happen.

If that's your train of thought you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the Cyberpunk universe. You're going to have roughly the same amount of "stuff" because it's a video game, here I'll explain further as a corpo you don't have "everything" you are an employee think like government jobs. Because you work as a pilot for the Airforce, Navy, or Marines and they let you fly their planes, jets, helos, and drive their vehicles does that mean now you own everything on your base? No just like that you don't really own all the shit you have as a corpo. Sure you get the nicer clothes, the up high connections but you have almost zero personal freedom, because everything you do is seen as a representation of the corp. So the only people who have everything would be the head of the corporations like Saburo or Lundee.

Nomad because you have no one and barely anything. Street kid because you grew up there and know plenty of people but are stuck in a rut. And Corpo because you are in a very high risk and high reward job in the biggest corp in the city.

100+ in the game multiple play throughs and I’d agree there’s absolutely no difference between a dialogue choice here and there. I’ve said this before this sadly isn’t an rpg. Your life path, the choices you make, all make no difference in the end. And don’t get me started about the ending.. the story is good but it was all rushed. Every choice you make in this game because there are only 4 outcomes anyways none having anything to do with your life path or your life choices. Just 1 choice you make at the end of the game.
