- This is a very rough cut of the second day of the NZJMA jet rally held at Tokoroa Airfield (NZTO) in New Zealand in February 2020. Large turbine powered helicopters and huge RC planes. A full edit from the whole three days is coming soon, don't miss it.
That Mi-17 takeoff is probably some of the most realistic RC footage I've ever seen. The way the gear decompresses is amazing. The sound is great too.
Those helis look so realistic...
They even SOUND realistic!
It a very very rare jet powered Kiwi bird or on the north island, it's a kiwi bird with a jetpack, and on the south island they just walk everywhere or hitchhik ?
@@deanrobert8674 What?
@Vladimir Putin spot on Vlad. Your not from New Zealand, but have knowledge of the cutest little flightless bird.
Some of those models are difficult to distinguish from the real thing at first glance, especially the crow 😁 great videoing Bruce 👍
This is the most impressive display of RC machines I have had the pleasure of seeing ! The best of the awesomeness in Pilots and their art ! Thank you !!
Great camera work and editing as usual Bruce.
The detail on some of these is phenomenal! Kudos to you great craftsmen.
Tokoroa. World famous in New Zealand. New Zealand world famous thanks to XJet.
I was happy with just this clip! I can’t believe some of those models...they look real! I’ve never seen that yellow counter-rotating heli before wow!
Amazing display of aviation vehicles, were they all sub 250g?
Yeah I think they would be all around 250g. The police would probably have to call out the FBI if they wanted something weighed wouldn't they?
0:39 so who makes that model? They've really got the flapping motion down to perfection! 😝
Some unbelievable detail in those helicopters and planes.. Just WOW...
Thanks for sharing Bruce.
Fantastic detailing on the heli's. Watching all those jets has encouraged me to mount a turbine on my Hobbyking AXN floater. Cheers, Bruce.
One word to describe the professional detailing & flights of these hand-made models: WOW!!!
That A4 Skyhawk was amazing 😍😍😍
These are awesome choppers well done to builders and operators. Great jet planes also.
I love Jet noise!!! I spent 18yrs sitting alongside a J34 Westinghouse jet engine used at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland Australia.
I operated the jet to blow ash or water of the track. Great in winter not so great in summer . Not only the jet heat but wearing a fire resistant suit used in drag racing and other motorsports.
Wow 😲 those helicopters are indistinguishable from full size at certain angles !! Great job guys 👍🏻
Wow They're all gorgeous but the detail level of that Kamov is NUTS! 🤯😎
excellent "and the crowd goes wild " lol ..looks like they realy did this time Bruce :)
Stephanie Kent - love your work Stephanie - Regards
@@davida877 what work is that then David ? :)
Bravo à tout ces passionnés ,un réalisme à couper le souffle...bravo
That rc bird looked so real. I would have believed it was a bird if it wasn't for the noise!! Wow bravo creator!
Wow... Really amazing stuff there! 😮
Pretty impressive!!!
You film them so they really look real. Your a master well done Sir
Awesome to watch this. So realistic in the details on all of them.
What superb machines Bruce, not a big jet fan but a captivating video nonetheless 👏
bugger I missed it,.. cant wait to see more!
Those helicopters are AMAZING!
The lighting is actually the best possible lighting for photography. No shadows.
Excellent camera angles made them look real
Spotted myself for a split second flat out knife edge 🤣
Scott was that your dad holding back Colin's Lightning?? I think I recognized his blue floppy hat :)
Thank you Bruce great video as always - The one thing I wanted to do was show my Grandson how to fly model planes close by in a safe place - he has had that taken from him by the Bureau.....@#$&’s - wonder if any of them have little people of their own they are trying to keep off their iPads - We are only endeavouring to show our children a full filling hobby that could lead to a creative career - too much to ask I guess - however I won’t give up he will learn to fly it’s a gratifying experience - Kind Regards Australia
Thanks, a good point of view. Why destroy a harmless hobby?
That RNZAF Skyhawk is awesome! Miss those.
First time watching...That was bloody awesome !!! Great looking machines!!!
Nice ! At first I thought it was a real helicopter that showed up. so realistic!

Argentina .
👍👍👍👍
100% of that shown is unfreakin believeable cause all look spectacular!
The bird looks real and sounds awesome.
Great camera work Bruce! I always like your videos before I even see the whole thing! Keep up the great work!
Mein großer Respekt:
So was habe ich noch nie gesehen;
die Modelle sind so was von realistisch, einfach top, 1A.
👍
Very Cool Xjet, ty for all you do!
That double rotor heli was the ducks nuts. Loved the Hind too. Sky hawk looked awsome. 100k sunk into each no doubt
Sorry mate, it was the Hip. No Hind there... (Mi-17). 😉
Thanks for the exciting video of RC at its best.
Cloudy day's are the best for lighting and detail.
The first shot of the video with the helicopter it was real right too cool thanks Bruce greetings from California
Thanks for sharing ! (much nicer than topics we had to deal with recently ..)
Wow, these models are fantasic!
Proper RC models...where was the Lightning Bruce....?
The helicopters were very impressive in look and function.
Some beautiful models!
Wow, what a great meet and lots of aircraft. Very impressive. Also very nice camera work. I thought the choppers were real ones you were filming until I saw the dummies inside lol. Thanks again for sharing your event. Happy Flying
it's Actually the BEST! Lighting you could ever shoot! in.
Wow, it is almost real when seeing this video. Thank you! GOOD JOB!
Longer videos of every heli and plane please
Thanks Bruce. Did the Lightning have an issue?
fantastic.
That Kamov was excellent.
Some of them are really hard to distinguish from full size.
Thanks for the flights and camera work was good.
Beautiful Skyhawk..💯💯💯👊👊👊 Great content thank you for sharing..i must visit your guys club one day and wacth..when u guys have a open day..👊👊👊
Every day is an open-day around here.
Woooow!
Nice turbine-powered ornithopter 40 seconds in!
Love the jet powered bird...lol
Cool video....on another note today I made a delivery to "kiwi" lawnmower repair...and yup he knew where tokora is....thanks for the videos
Simply beautiful. HOOAH
Have you flown one for an f-14 tomcat yet?
I didn't get it: what about this Lightning? I was curious to watch it fly!
I agree, I thought the lighting was nearly ideal. It is a defused lighting so there are not dark shadows cast on everything, and no matter which way you point the camera, you're not shooting into the sunlight.
When's your next meeting, would love to come and watch, this is awesome!
awesome..and Aviation is NOT a crime
There is some nice craft there.
Do they not advertise these events happening ? I thought there would have been more spectators.
Realy awesome camera man
The bird flying across with the jet sound in the background 😂😂😂. Is that remote control as well?😆
Those helis look real
I have always wondered do they use crossfire like us or normal serial receivers on those expensive models
Tim would enjoy flying one of these planes.
How much do they cost?
The SR71 is the utmost sexiest stylish out off all.
This is a long way from 1959. 7th grade, model airplane club (thank you, Mr. Darkow), I was making hand launched gliders. Then crashed a RingMaster with Fox 35. :)
Wow!
Beautiful mate, Beautiful Cheers👀👍🍷
1:30 Yep, Dad was a door gunner. Has the same patch too.
Air cav.
Incredible
Very cool stuff !! I just can't help thinking how much one of those planes or heli's cost. A crash would be really costly.
A lot, mostly would be the many hours of labor painting them and giving them those nice finishing details that is hard to put a price on. Core components would only be $3,500 plus airframe which is probably not much in $ but a lot in hand building labor. It would be about like crashing a real airplane in cost (except these are basically harmless in terms of injury, not so much for real airplanes). I think this would be along the lines of me crashing an ultralight (one that I’m looking at is a 60 HP bi-wing with 18 ft wingspan and nearly 6ft diameter variable propeller costing $7,500 USD used in excellent condition, so really these models cost about the same as real ones, you sure don’t want to start out model aviation with these cause a crash sure would cost more than my car!)
@@jakegarrett8109 for my budget, that is insane !!!I bought Fatshark HDO's last year, and considered myself a big spender !!!I'm an electrician, not an investment banker.Still, if I had the cash....
EchobeeFPV oh yeah, way out of my price range for toys... I spent only like half of that on my car (a fun fire spitting RX-8, so a big toy and sort of practical transportation, haha!). I could afford a couple of these planes but then that would be all the fun budget for a while, and I know I’d manage to crash these pretty quick if not the first time, so that’s a no-go for me too, haha! They do look fantastic though. I may end up with a jet at some point (I’m an aerospace engineer so I’d probably remake my teams project “Wraith”, a jet powered stealth UAV with 40mm grenade deployment I helped design), but even it was too pricey at like $5k and it uses a much smaller and cheaper jet engine, I think I’ll have to settle for an electric EDF with foam-board in a slightly smaller and $100 version of it, cause it’s pricey, haha!
@@jakegarrett8109 that big yellow heli is 25k euro
Wot no pulsejet hovercraft !
Wow, just wow....
The EE lightning is best👌👌
I'd love to know when these events are happening..
How often do they fly there Bruce.
whoa ,,bit of a step up from hacksaw framing,,,
At 3.10 when he called out "STEVE WILLCOX" i had to replay it 3 times cos that my name hehehehehe great vid :)
Damn I couldn't tell if that was a real Huey or a model! I had to double check. lol
Same with the Mi-17 and the Kamov, to be honest. Both as well produced a really 'natural' sound!
Ummm so just a question....how is it that with multiple thousands of dollars in the jet engines alone, but there seems to be an issue getting the retracts to come back down? Are you guys buying crappy retracts? Are you just struggling trying to make them operate correctly? As complicated as turbines are to get right and have them function correctly it just seems that the retracts would be the simple part of that planes operating system,
Just curious...
The kamov is just Waaaaouuuuww...
Holy shit there is a lot of money in one of those helicopters and time
Do some of these see movie prop action ?
Wow. Nice day.
Why not take it upto 30.000ft and 100 miles long range distance, or they can't do that?
Ya wouldn't wanna turn up with a little foamy EDF at that event! hehe
Model aviation is not a crime ............YET !!!!!!
Yikes - some of those landings were atrocious for the amount of money large scale turbine aircraft cost.
Models?! The y looked like the real thing!
Bruce I want to cend you a link. How?
I wouldn't mind dropping by the next time they fly those things.
