After demonstrating barbershop licks that worked their way into jazz at David Wright and Vic Hobson’s presentation in the previous hour, Crossroads Quartet will give a performance set in which barbershop’s relation with jazz, blues, and gospel will become evident.
When Theo tells his students that sight reading is important he can show them this video.

he is a champ himself with Instant Classic ;P but yes, all these guys have won it twice and are about 20 years older so it's a bit intimidating. What a sightreader though!

48 years ago I was a bass in a barbershop quartet. High school, Northport NY. We were called "The Close Shaves". I have the original reel to reel tape recording of the 25 songs we learned over the years and taped in 1976. No bragging here BUT, Lead, Tenor and Bass are pretty easy to learn, baritone? Are you kidding me? It is the part that no one knows about until it isn't there, the " fill in the blank" part that has no normal progression. For Theo to come in overnight and read this music and be a part of this group is nothing short of spectacular!

this was well before the first recorded case.
Possibly as they now know China had cases several months prior to it being officially announced. I know so many people that were sick, seriously sick, between August and December of 2019 with an "unknown" virus. 🤷♀️. Unfortunately it's all suspect in hindsight
