  • Hello friends!
    I got my new Derwent Procolours and I couldn't wait to film a video for you guys. This is just an unboxing and a live swatching, so you can get an idea of what kinds of colors you will get with this set.
    I will do a full review later on, when I've had a chance to play around with these pencils. I will also do a mini-series with these pencils where I test them out in different books and do a full page with them (and only them for everything!).
    I got my pencils at www.runforcover.dk. Amazing site for Derwent pencils, if you live in Denmark!
    Make sure to watch the video in HD to get the best experience.
    If you have any questions or suggestions please leave a comment. I'll do my best to give you a good answer and always write down all suggestions!
    Remember to always tag me (on Instagram, @Alwayscoloring) or share the link to the video, if you're coloring along from my tutorials or livestreams and share your work online.

    I think Derwent pencils generally do better on toothy paper, while prismas work well on medium to smooth paper. My most versatile pencils are the Polys - any paper will do for those!

    • @AlwaysColoring
      @AlwaysColoring  Před 6 lety +3

      I don't think I'll agree. The Inktense, the Drawing and the Coloursofts aren't really amazing on too toothy paper for me. But the Artists only work on really toothy paper. I think these will be okay on most papers, but really shine on toothy paper. The Prismas I think works on all kinds of paper. They're easier than most pencils to use on smooth paper, but they really shine on toothy paper if you have the patience to work with them :) The Polychromos are better on toothy paper in my opinion, but they work great on smooth paper as well. You just have to be careful on the smooth paper, because it's not as forgiving.

    I did like the fact you tell whenn a pencil is scratchy or soft. It is useful for people who have arthritis but love coloring. That's a very nice video

    500 Krone was a good price. I'm finding a conversion of approximately 81.00 in US dollars. The lowest I can find them in the US is about $111. Very good deal!

      Annette Sonneson Yes! 500 DKK is a very good price. It's the standard price for all the big Derwent sets on the site I linked too. That's where I bought all my 72-sets.. I only need their Watercolour pencils now 😂 pretty sure they'll end up in my collection as well one day

    Wow, love the colors, interested in hearing your views on them when you color a page with them. Here in Canada, on Amazon right now, these are $180.00 normally $255.00. So want more feedback before I choose to spend that kind of money, lol. Tfs 😊❤️

      I love the colors too! I will start coloring page soon, but I have a few projects to start and finish first :) I wouldn't even recommend you buy some individuals and try out as this set of pencils isn't consistent at all. The pencils work so differently!

    • @AlwaysColoring
      @AlwaysColoring  Před 6 lety

      Petra Johansson Vertically I plan out 1 cm pr. line and I want 2 swatches on each of those lines, so I make a line down the center as well. Them I just take the with of my ruler and make a line down each section to make space for the color and the name. Should I make a video? ☺️

    Hi. Thanks so much for this video. I have the full set of polychromos and prismacolor. I want to try procolours but I can only 10-15 pencils. I want to buy shades which are not available in other sets. Can you recommend the shades in procolours hich are unique? It would be very helpful.

      Hey :D I'm sure you'll be the best to do what you're asking of me. Just take a look at the pencils you already own while looking at the Procolour swatches. Then pick out the colors you feel like you're missing. We all have different taste in colors :)

    • @AlwaysColoring
      @AlwaysColoring  Před 6 lety +1

      Lea Sofie I haven't tried the Studios. But are you trashing a whole brand, because you don't like their student pencils? 😂

    • @janetdanes7945
      @janetdanes7945 Před 6 lety +1

      Lea Sofie, I have read there is a big difference between the Derwent Studio if they are made in China, and not the UK. There is a difference between the picture on the lid to show which set you have. I bought the set made in China and find them very lightly pigmented with hard lead. Some pencils are very scratchy but not all. I did think they improved when sharpened and used, so wonder if there is a protective coating on the tip which needs to be worn off before they work better. I gave up using them after colouring one page in Dagdrommar but I did like the way that picture turned out. I’d suggest they have a place in my pencil collection, but are definitely not my favourites. FC are my favourites as they are so smooth to use and have beautiful colours.

    • @sugarcandy243
      @sugarcandy243 Před 6 lety +1

      Lea Sofie The studio set is not the best for colouring. They're hard and meant to hold a sharp point for those who sketch, draw and create their own art. Coloursoft is much better as they're softer, more for coloring. I love the Inktense pencils as well. Peta says these pencils are somewhere in between the Polychromos and coloursoft sets and I trust her judgement (esp since the polys are my favorite as well).

    • @AlwaysColoring
      @AlwaysColoring  Před 6 lety

      Shilpa J Very true! But I believe she says there in between the Coloursoft and Artists and slightly softer than the Polychromos 😉 don't really agree about the softness yet though. But we'll see once I start using them 😂

    • @sugarcandy243
      @sugarcandy243 Před 6 lety +1

      AlwaysColoring Oops! Yes, I meant the Artists and Coloursoft sets. The thing is I really love the color range of Derwent - esp their purples and greens. So if the Procolour pencils are good, I'd like to get them someday... The Artists are too hard for me (have the 120 set and it's good on certain paper) and the coloursoft are too soft (I prefer Polychromos to prismacolor).
