I actually had the honor to have had a drink with Jon Pardi personally this year in March when he came to Hill Country in Beaumont Tx. and we spoke about his grandma and how much I love his music.... I'd have to say this is the one song that made me truly fall in love with country music. Sure I was exposed to all kinds of music through my parents, but it was heavy metal & old school funk that caught my ear as a teenager. Then as an adult in my early twenties, I become involved in a 3 year relationship, and decided to break it off after thinking "the grass is greener on the other side".
I heard this song on a classic country radio station in Phoenix in the early 90s, and it spoke to me and everything I did wrong, but couldn't take back.
Still think of her from time to time.
Very few people could pull this off, but you sir, are 1 in a billion! Spectacular!! I mean…. Wow!
As a student of Sound Recording Technology it is so refreshing to hear artist that can play without the big band as well as with and still sound amazing, without all the added effects such as plug ins on DAWs , just playing acoustics ,.great!

I listened to all the songs a few times & am really waiting for Mo to fall back on his roots with the traditional classic country he is making himself famous for, & to come up with a couple old skool originals. What sets Mo apart from the other up & coming stars is his emotions while singing. So might call it an act, but I call it part of the song. Without the emotion, all you have is Jon Pardi. A song without the emotion. It really does need to come from the inside, the heart. Really looking forward to seeing more of this young man & his promising future.

In my 17 years of OTR truck driving I have listened to, & sang this song a million times & can not do much better. Nothing against Jon, but the heart, soul, & passion of the song is missing in this video. That is what George has that many folks can not seem to pull out from the inside. That intro... I used to do that as well going thru my grandparents music except they were records and 8 tracks, and some cassettes. I would be in the sitting in the driver's seat listening to Donna Fargo, Kris Kristofferson, Wille pending to be driving on some roadtrip ro wome awesome other then Lincoln City, OR
