    Biggest complaint I've seen consistently seen is that they are loud inside the helmet. lots of wind noise. is that what you found? for an almost $600 helmet, it should be church quiet. Great video. glad you're doing them again.

    • @Ruroc
      @Ruroc Před 3 lety

      Price doesn't really define quietness. The helmet is full carbon, Light and has great airflow. These attributes will contribute to a noisier helmet. You can buy a polycarbonate helmet that will be quiet but it will be a lot heavier on your neck and won't have the airflow desired.

    • @Andrew-us2fk
      @Andrew-us2fk Před 2 lety

      Use better padding and make sure you have closable vents. You could get it to have less wind noise. Your helmet is no better vented than most others so that's a bad excuse. Helmet looks bad ass and I dig it but people are right on the nose that y'all skimped on quality interior. It's a 300 dollar helmet at best.

    Agree on your comment at 17.15 about excessive wind noise. on you Recently bought an Atlas 2.0 and Bluetooth kit in their sale. Dissapointingly, the wind-noise is EXTREMELY NOISY , so much so I am considering another helmet (Have also installed their plug kit to seal all the vents). The helmet has superb looks, great features , but the noise actually had my ears ringing for some time afterwards on one trip. Couldn't find any decibel level for the helmet anywhere online, and no response from Ruroc on this. Ruroc would not let me return the helmet. Spent a lot with this company on this helmet, which I am now not using.

    I wondered what happened to you, I watched you when you were a tech at the dealership, then nothing, today I found you again ! I'm so glad you took the leap , covid timing was bad but if you floated above covid and survived the hardest time in history, and remained open ,it's going to take time to build your business, with no budget for advertising, your going to have to rely on word of mouth, be patient, the day will come when your booking a month or 2 ahead because your swamped, and your next decision is hiring more techs,more bike lifts & maybe a way bigger shop,if the dealership &you are the only game in town,& you're beating the dealership prices then go for it ,I hate the dealerships, you walk in the door and it's H.D.(Hundred Dollars) I like the small guys they're more personable &the service is far better, the guy I go to I bring him a case of carb cleaner every 2 weeks weather or not I'm getting something done or not, as he has done things above & beyond for me & for others he's just a good guy & he knows how tight money is right nowadays & if I can help him save on overhead that helps him ,when he does work on my bike ,the day of,I call & ask him,breakfast,lunch,or dinner ,and I bring it for him,his tech ,secretary & his parts guy too ! A tech / owner that a regular guy like me can trust , is more important to me just knowing that I'm not going to be taken advantage of on parts&labor for stuff I don't need just to make a buck ! That's why I have no problem showing my appreciation to him by doing what I can for him, mind you I'm 65 and still riding and on a fixed income ,a lot of times I'm allowed in the shop area,and grab tools for him, or go pick up parts he ordered ,he loves my stories of the s%%t I've seen,done, we're becoming friends, he knows I'm the real deal ,and always ask him to not let his pride stop him from telling me if there is anything else he needs ,but he's so humble he won't say ! I just let him know that I want more than anything for him to succeed & I'll do what I can to help him & be there for him ,I try to make him smile or laugh when he's having a bad day ,soon he'll say I really needed that thanks, sometimes everyone just needs to look at things from some old guys perspective, we're as old as dirt and we have seen & done or had things done to us with age comes wisdom . I wish you or I were closer , I'm in California ,I know I hate it here but I can ride year round,& lane splitting, although scary&dangerous it is legal, especially with an air cooled 883,traffic is not my friend ,I do slow down ,the law says no faster than 35mph ,but I've seen crotch rockets going 60 -70 mph & they run from the hwy patrol especially if traffic is that congested ,there's no way a patrol car is able to get past L.A.Traffic jams , and bikers know all they need is a large muti level parking structure and they get away ,it's sad but true ,good thing that's not me ,my wheelie days are over, I don't e. exceede the speed limit, my mindset is ill get there when I get there enjoy the ride and look out for knuckle heads in cars,trucks & drive defensively my life depends on it ,I'm looking for a small compact air tank and 12 volt air pump to be able to power a single train horn,that can be blacked out & hidden or camouflaged, it is the left turn idiots that always turn in front of me that pass me off ! And the puny Harley horn seems useless, today's cars,trucks,suv's are designed to block noise,and the younger folk have to blast their music so loud you can hear it 3 blocks away and your on the 10 fwy! My 94 sporster does not have a Rev limiter, not that I would use it like the sport bikes do,but a horn that they're not expecting from a motorcycle is an eye opener, I know you can't legally condone my actions ,but maybe you could point me in the right direction ?(wink-wink) the system has to be small,compact,&the tank has to be pressure tested to over 150-170 psi there is a screw in bung for the pressure switch and has 2 -12 volt leads on it & I think it has a bleed off after set pressure is achieved, or maybe it just shuts off and stores the compressed air till its needed ? I just don't know ! I only know 1 thing if I'm hit that's it I'll never heal up ,lose a leg ,break a hip,or be D.O.A all because someone didn't see me ,I don't have the strobe headlights ,so every intersection that does not have a designated left turn lane , I toggle the high beam & low beam well before I enter the intersection hoping like hell they can see me ,sometimes they still turn left in front of me there have been too many too close for comfort times ,even wearing a reflection and orange vest has not helped, they still turn in front of me , can you figure something out I can try ,I'm thinking about a fire extinguisher , but I'm not sure how much pressure they're rated for ? What do you think? OK I've bothered you long enough ,it's time for my nap ,LOL, NOT

      Maybe they should've just actually put proper(or even functional for that matter) vents on it so you don't need to do that. Fake vents on the side for looks and vents on the top and back that you have to BUY plugs for and take the helmet off just to open/close is about the cheapest/laziest shit I've ever heard of. If they're cutting corners on venting...I shudder to think what other corners they cut in design/manufacturing.

    My thoughts:
    1. The first open position for visor a huge plus for venting. 2.0 was too high, exposing my eyes.
    2. I see they ditched the plastic tabs on the visor you had to swap between shields. Huge plus.
    3. As on the 2.0, it doesn’t appear the vent switch makes much of a difference. Also, not easy to manipulate switch.
    But its a very cool looking quality helmet

    Good Morning John!
    I've been in the market for buying a Ruroc helmet for some time now. I kept noticing that the crimson color was constantly out of stock and so I finally wrote the company and asked them about it. I received a reply from "Grant" at the company and he said they were no longer being stocked. Rather than directing me to another model, or giving me some sort of future to see with a Ruroc on my head, he just left it at that. I'm not into the graphics and I would like something that would match my own style and bikes. After the short discussion with Grant, his decision, I guess there's no future with Ruroc and myself. Decent looking helmet though.
    It looks like Grant has decided to leave me with wearing HJC for a bit longer.

    I bought the XL based on the sizing chart, but it had that little wiggle as well. I was worried that after the padding breaks in it would be waay too loose. I sent it back to exchange it for the L. With the shell size being the same, the padding should be thicker and hopefully that will work.

    It feels like you’re a little biased towards Ruroc as a company since you really didn’t compare this $600+ helmet to others within the same premium prize range. But thanks for the review. You’ve got yourself another subscriber.

    Man, that visor is very transparent for a mirror finish. Still looks awesome though. Most of their designs are a bit much for me, especially just for going around on my cruiser. The Titan carbon looks really cool, but I'm not a fan of gold, even though it just has a little gold. Liquid carbon is nice as well

    5:13 ya and they waited till ship day to tell everyone they needed 30 more days....that I don't respect. Was stoked for the Atlas Reaper 3.0 but after that news after being so hyped for so long.....I took a refund 🤷🏼‍♂️.

    No offense, but everytime the Ruroc helmets which are promoted are lauded as the best helmets ever, and everytime they're shit.
    They look nice, I'll give you that, but they can't hold a candle to Shoei, Bell, Arai, or AGV.

    Jon
    I ordered the atlas 3.0 about 6 months ago and ended up canceling my order.
    Original said 4 weeks and I gave them an extra week 5 before I called . I was told how sorry they were and it would be another 4 to 6 weeks. After that time I called again and same thing another 4 to 6 weeks
    So after 4 months I finally gave up and asked for my money back.
    I really liked the helmet but felt I would still be waiting.
    Did you say they are under a different dealer now?

    Nice review, liked how you had the shield in different positions so we sort of got idea of the wind, it whistle when it was more than the smallest opening. How would you compare it to your old Shoei? Good seeing you back doing videos.

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  Před 3 lety +1

      The padding material in the shoei is very soft. Like a blanket, which makes it really freakin hot. Air flow and weight is why I like the Ruroc more. Well, and the design is cooler looking.

    From all the reviews where they paid for theirs, they say they suck and are not a 500$ helmet. Fake vents in front. Not the actual promised liner. Loud as hell. Have to pay extra to block off real vents. Visors are easily scratched.

    There are a ton of negative reviews here and paid youtubers who get to make promotions for Ruroc. What do you think? Where in your opinion does the truth lay?

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  Před 3 lety

      I actually watched quite a few of them while my video was uploading. Some of them (the whistling with visor open) just isn’t a big deal to me. If you open the visor, it’s louder. Welcome to helmets!
      One complaint was how hard it was to take it on and off. I take mine off one handed (I think I showed it in the video).
      Those were the most common complaints, all reviews are a matter of opinion. Of course not everyone likes it, but if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have accepted it.
      I have a box full of stuff that companies have sent that I declined to review/didn’t opt into receive the newer version the following year.
      I did wear my 2.0 this morning, and the pad fitment is absolutely better to me. That’s 100% a fitment issue with my own face, though. I don’t think I mention that until way late in the video, so you may have missed it.
