    Insomnia clearly need not spoil our looks if Kreuza appears so fresh after a full decade of stalking sleep…! Her hiking story is a keeper! She is so right too in that dogs can make great companions; they are some of the best people out there, lol. 🐕 Thanks also to Kreuza for the reminders that a) Ambien is a dead-end for some of us, and that b) jet-lag is definitely NOT our friend when it comes to the hunt for steady sleep. Thanks to both parties for reminding me that there are many treatment modalities available; Almost NO Sleep Coach is a complete waste of space. 🙏 🙏 🙏

    Pushing myself to go to work has been my challenge lately. That’s my trigger right now is I have to sleep well to make it to work. I really fear going in to work after an all nighter. I have only done that once. When I am not working I find I sleep great. Ugh I want my life back this speed bump seems unending

    I’m glad she mentioned the shame. I am dealing with a sense of guilt and shame as a new mom struggling with this my husband is taking on a lot of the night time feedings with our girl. This gets me stuck in anxiety mode. This is half my battle

      Struggling too. I actually tackled the anxiety of it but still have hyperarousal (learned that from this channel). So now I’m trying to move past that. Been a rough 3 weeks (had some good days last week). Really really bad this week. I’m wondering if some meds are making it worse though

    Ive had insomnia for 3 years, then like Kreuza somniphobia took over and i can say its 100% more difficult to deal with than insomnia. for me its not so much the fear of slipping into unconciousness its more to do with nightmares or weird dreams, The only thing i can do know is accept it and gradually things should get better

    • @thesleepcoachschool8192
      @thesleepcoachschool8192  Před 10 měsíci

      @Mel-fk9ej Před 10 měsíci +1

      @thesleepcoachschool8192 thanks Daniel, I had abit more sleep last night than the night before even though the palpitations were still there so I guess just accepting and just trying to relax is the only way out of this

      @thesleepcoachschool8192  Před 10 měsíci

      @Mel-fk9ej it’s not easy, but yes I believe fully this is the way, and experiencing how acceptance makes it easier… it can become a virtuous cycle.

    i have somnophobia already since many years: I'm sometimes afraid that someone is under the bed, or that someone will climb over the balcony to me, or that something else will happen when I fall asleep.so i even sleep sometimes with a knife, cause the fear is really real, although it is illogical. but at the moment where the fear comes there remains no logic 😅 That's why I also have problems falling asleep when there are other people in the same room, because I'm afraid for my life. this fear is already so very deeply rooted in me that I feel I can NEVER break this pattern!!! it is for me for example unimaginable to fall asleep if someone is lying beside me. this is the worst sleep i can get!!
    beside this i have insomnia too: i can't fall asleep if i have to get up with a clock early. but if there is no clock i will wake up anyway too early 😅
    i have already written something about my experience with insomnia in some comments. i will keep watching your videos! thank you for the video. 👍

    Many doctors suggest that somnifobia is just a manifestation of OCD (and that OCD can be caused by just a couple of bad nights). Sertraline (zoloft) is highly effective and along with courage and some therapy can fix everything
    However it's important to talk first with your doc

    Started going to bed at midnight & getting up whenever I felt like it, slept good 5 days in a row.. then
    watched TV too late.. about 5AM ..Even though it was very late i wasn't sleepy because of too many movies. I lay down to go to sleep.. All of a sudden I became anxious.. It's been a long time since I was anxious.I was afraid of the anxiety so much i never tried going back to bed.. Did not sleep at all tonight. at different times during the day I could feel the anxiety building a little bit.. then at 10 PM I could feel it building up.. I walked the hallway about 10 times slowly 3 times, this helped me calm down. I started to say: gently let it go.. something I learned from Nina's recovery. then I did one finger light tapping from my head to my toe.. saying gently let it go.. working down the body relaxing each part of my body.. saying in paradise I will go walking along the creek and maybe go fishing, talking with my friends and pick black berries and fruit and have a delicious meal with all my friends And then maybe we'll go hiking in the valleys in mountain area and have a great time as we look at all the beautiful things around us, living such a happy life full of joy and peace In God's new kingdom. this calmed me down so much I just went to bed at 11:00 PM I got up I think four times just relaxed in bed thinking about nothing.. got up at 9 AM. This was my best experience ever so far since having insomnia for a long time. I learned everything from watching over 75 recovery insomnia talks, thank you very much Daniel Erichsen.

    Hi coach Daniel. I recently heard about the work and philosophy of Allen Carr on helping people quit smoking. Have you heard of him? He talks about how the “fear” of suffering withdrawal symptoms in fact stops people from quitting. It’s quite similar to your teaching on the role of rear of wakefulness in perpetuating insomnia. Thanks.

    Hi Coach Daniel, just want to first say thank you for what you do. I suffer from OCD and it primarily manifests itself into healthy anxiety. I always go to google and it makes everything worse. Sleep used to be my escape but now it causes me nothing but anxiety. Because of my ocd it’s all I can think about. I am lucky if I can get 2-3 hours a night. I know it’s taking a toll on me. I can’t even take naps. As soon as I close my eyes I’m plagued by sleep starts or just pure restlessness. I keep looking things up on google which I know I shouldn’t do and it’s making things worse. I feel like I don’t even get tired. Just and endless cycle of panic about sleep. I don’t know what to do.

    Omg, i dont scare that people can die when they sleep , i scare from this that i become unconscious like ( anaesthesia) this is my fear of sleeping.strangest thing here is that when i say this to my friends and parents they say ( omg the best part of sleeping is becoming unconscious like dead person we like to just go in bed and fell in deep dreams ) they think im silly but i dont like being unconcious.
