- a peek at the internals, and adding a couple mods to the already hopped up 1938B FireBall
Welcome to my CZcams channel. My name is Jonathan. An average airgunner, with a love of modding! I enjoy sharing my Custom rifle builds with an audience of like minded individuals who share the same interests.
I also share some of my performance mods on my personal Ebay store. It can be found here:

I use Dextron III /Mercon ATF for over 5 years now and it performs well, does not gum up or dry out. I've had a set of new seals and 45 year old seals soaking in it for 5 years now and no problems with swelling or softening. Usually, your transmission will run just fine for 100,000 miles and so will the Daisy shoot a 100,000 BB's with no problems. LOL They talk about using non detergent 20W oil, but the ATF works fine, no corrosion on the metal, and no reaction on the rubber parts.
I had been using 30wt ND but recently started using Ballistol.
You asked for comments, so here goes…(1) for assembly and most shooting I use engine oil, 30 or 10-30, or pellgun oil, for cold weather I use air tool oil. It’s thinner and formulated for moving parts under pressure that are sealed with o-rings/rubber seals. (2) I have my spring compressor set up to mount in a vise so I can push down to install the anchor, if it slips I don’t cut my hand to ribbons on the stock spurs (don’t ask how I figured that one out 🤬) (3) I’ve been looking at a possible inner plunger spring mod. The hammer spring from a Ruger Single Six is 3” long and fully compresses at 1-1/2”. @ about 22 lbs…the compression chamber is a little over 2”, so if done right this could add additional spring tension at the all-important beginning of the compression stroke with no additional preload on the seal at rest.
Hello sir love you videos & the way you think👍🏼. Very simple & to the point that everyone understands 🤜🏼🤛🏼.My question is will you be adding any of your products to your ebay store? Been watching for awile and haven't seen anything available.Hope all is well my friend & hope to hear from ya soon😊
Yep I will have items arriving in the shop soon. Thank you for your support 🙏. It's a great community
Stock wood really very nice! , can you will sell stock wood look like that?
Very interesting gun!
400fps is great for a RR
Is the bear trap delete easy to do?
It is removing the clicks and only catches on the last one?
You can grind down the catches along the length. Or you can do a whole delete. Here is a link to the process
czcams.com/video/Qn8lEJUARG4/video.html
Where do you source your felt and automotive grommets? Also, what size grommets do you use.
My preferred oil is military CLP.
I use my local small town bumper to bumper parts store for the grommets, and wal-mart for the felt, out of the fabric dept. For the anchor wire, I use .26 gage size. Tiny but strong. The I.D of the grommet, I believe is 1/2"
What's the range test looks like at 10, 15, 25 and 35 yards? Or further?
When you do the bear trap delete do you need to do any further adjustments to anything else? Just remove that spring and pull the ratchet mechanism out and slap it back in the receiver?
Pretty much as you described. Unless you wish to do further refinements
So is there a durability reduction with the carbon barrels? Planning on getting a regulator rr for my son and an adult one for myself. I do want to upgrade mine eventually. But i just figured I'd see if youve done any testing on one over say 5,000 or 10,000 rounds.
I really couldn't put a set number of rounds I've cycled through my rifles with the carbon fiber shot tubes. All I can say, is yes, they are durable over the test of time. They havnt appeared to wear down in the fps category.
I use O'Reilly's Auto parts Gun oil
Bit late to this party but would you or someone you know of offer the Carbon Shot tubes to the UK?
Ebay has a fit if you even try to order to a US address with a UK account sadly even though anything declared Air Gun wise can be imported (providing its sub 12ftlb if not licensed or an RFD), I've already got a Cobalt spring and tube to go in with plans from Shane for a sliding springblock.
Thanks in advance and that Fireball is awesome.
I should have them up today. The listing should work for across the pond, as I've had no issues mailing elswhere. Thank you ☺️
Daisy spares do not seem to be readily available in the UK which is a shame, these bb guns are such a cool and inexpensive platform for hobby customising and it's low power so there's no risk of exceeding the legal limit. I'd like to be able to get hold of the different levers.
@@Beesa10 its not impossible to import them but theres a trick to it, main problem with ebay is UK has a blanket ban on Airguns and won't even allow some parts, it will even freak out if you try and use an ebay uk account to ship to a US address so if buying via that route they need to list it a certain way.
Customs form wise its acctually straight forward, they just need to fully declare what it is i.e dont just write Airgun or BB gun parts but in this instance 'Cocking lever for sub 12ft Daisy BB Rifle' and ensure its handed to a carrier that allows it at the other end (RM will take parts but alot of the courier companies wont, full guns must be Parcelforce or a RFD), you may get some extra charges such as a handling charge or a Duty charge but it should get through just fine.
I am trying to track down my last Customs form as an example that I will make able to be requested via BBS and Daisytalk to help people.
That so awesomely over 400 fps. 😅does daisy red Ryder hunting pigeon with 16 feet ??
You betcha
It's just a little overkill only put a 1/8 inch spacer with the flat washer top hat you call it lol lol I have done them to Manny times the 1/8 the inch works the best you should get a faster speed if you didn't hurt the 327 with that much pressure I have done it lol lol seems the 1/8 and washer gives the most power and speed that's what I have found
I havnt found an 1/8" spacer to add effect to the performance, when paired with cobalt 327s mainspring. But there will be another demonstration coming. It already feels to the limit on the tail end of the plunger assembly. Another video coming up highlights the tophatter in an oem RR. And what gains can be had as a stand alone modification.
Hi Jonathan I use gun oil I got at auto zone
I need the round spung the gos on the air tube
I would refer you to cobalt327. He has a host of offerings for mainsprings
Hey new subscriber, a few months ago I saw a video where a guy was able to convert his red rider to shoot 6mm airsoft. Could you possibly perform a similar conversion?
Yep that's been on the dinner plate for a while now. Thank you for your support and question 🤙I hear the velocity really picks up strong
@@blackbarrelcustoms3704 also I’m a cad designer, I know there is a part on the new daisys’ where the bbs feed into. I know it’s a two piece part half plastic and metal. If I could get the dimensions of the part I could cad it out and put it on thingy verse or something.
Have you ever noticed some 327 springs are almost a half inch longer than others I have like 7 and at least 3 I can't remember for sure are a good bit longer them are the really hot springs the shorter ones do good with a bigger spacer but most are the short ones don't ask me why but I will tomorrow when my wife is off work take pictures and post them on my site hey bud just trying to help you I really don't know what you got in yours this has been what I have found on guns I have built with mark Ritter's 327 springs and spacers back a long time ago when I was a millerite I used some machine spring's they had thrown away but they could blow the barrel out of a daisy lol bust the abutment through the barrel shroud I have seen a stock spring do it to from the daisy factory not spot welding the band that the barrel and abutment seat in
Yes, I can say that I have noticed this as well. It's been a while since I made a purchase, but some comparisons show length differences.
did this have a stock air tube or the hogged out? 7/64
The reamed out 1/8"
10 weight works the best
That's the word. I may have to dig around an find a can.
@@blackbarrelcustoms3704 hey I just put up pictures on my site the different lengths of 327 cobalt springs and the roller assembly from the air venturi bb gun John Wayne and Annie okly bb guns I use in daisy red Ryder s
How about accuracy
Accuracy is vastly improved
