twitter theory: Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé all committed suicide from how painful their heartbreak was. Jennie died in a car accident, Lisa jumped from the building, and Rosé drowned herself in the tub. Jisoo doesn't have a man in this mv because she represents the love of friendship. Much like her role in real life (as unnie of the group) she takes care of the other girls in the mv protecting them from harm. However, with their suicides she feels like she failed them and is now all alone.
The flower field can be 2 things.
1. Jisoo is meant to represent Demeter. Some background info: Demeter is the Greek goddess of harvest and the mother of the goddess Persephone. Persephone’s husband (and uncle) had kidnapped her because he fell in love with her. Long story short, Demeter found out and wanted her daughter back so she and Hades came to an agreement that Persephone will live with Hades in the underworld during the last 4 months of the year but return to her mother during the first 8 months of the year.
So during the last 4 months of the year when Persephone is with Hades, Demeter grieves for her beloved daughter. Due to her grief she can't perform her duties which is how winter came about. Even though it’s now spring and all of the sand in the hourglass has already reached the bottom, Persephone still has not returned. Demeter gets worried and eventually goes to try to find her daughter. Jisoo here is Demeter because she's waiting for the girls to comeback (like Demeter waited for Persephone) but they didn't (like Persephone didn't).
2) It could just be part of Jisoo's grieving process where she imagines heaven to be a field of calming blue flowers. This is her trying to convince herself that they're in a better place now.
Then we see Jisoo running. This is her running to the little convenience store/arcade/diner thing that we see in the next scene. That scene where they're all playing paintball and having a good time is the memory Jisoo is trying to chase.
Finally we find Jisoo in a pool of water. She couldn't handle the guilt of not being able to protect her friends and was also heartbroken (again lovesick from friendship). So she died in a pool of rain, not from drowning, but because the sign behind her electrocuted her death in the water when it tipped over. The sign also spells NOTHING showing Jisoo had nothing left.
The final FINAL scene is the girls reuniting in a better place.

Ikr.....they say dddd, hylt,etc lyrics do not have meanings, and if we ask which lines don't make sense then they only mention chorus, there r other grps too who make much meaning less lyrics or chorus than bp, but since bp is the target of all kpop, we can't do anything. Bp every video have deep meanings but it take time to know bcz they use alot of metaphors which may seem as they r talking about love but its the different. @@liliesmilies1531 from my point of view, this song is about themselves achieving their dreams and while achieving it they have experienced loneliness, lost hope(u know YG), sad, etc. The line " we were born to be alone" I think means that when they signed the contract with the company, they knew they will not be able to date I they become idols, but then also they did it to make their dreams come true.

Rose and Jennie are fluent in English, Jennie lived in New Zealand for about 6 years, while Rose was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia. Lisa is pretty much fluent in English, although she has trouble with some phrases. Great reaction as always!

Just a fun fact about this song, yes all the girls are dating the same guy in this video. Basically it is said they all got played by the same guy (in the music video) at the same time and they found out. So that’s why you see some happy scenes with the guy and some not so happy one’s. But you can see that jisso is the only member that isn’t with the guy. In black pink, some blinks address jisso as the “mom” of the group, so some people say that in the scene that jisso is running, she’s actually going back in time so the girls don’t get heart broken (aka become lovesick). loved it! jennie took part in production and writing and jisoo tool part in writing. that's the first time they were officially credited by their company, cuz jennie and jisoo weren't credited for the lyrics of stay and jennie wasn't credited for the lyrics of solo, even though they did write them.

I don’t blame you for having lsg as your fave song. In their entire discography it’s in my top five but they certainly do mask their gut wrenching lyrics with colorful beats and outfits. The song took a long time to grow on me but now I like it. Part of their charm is their innocence and in Ice Cream the innocence has obviously gone. It's written by Arianna Grande, which is why it's so sexual, but it's a bop.

There are many theories about this mv. But this is what I think about this........So in the first scene, Jennie is arguing with a guy, that represents the problems in a relationships, and that problems leads them to the wrong way and ended up crashing, that represents the ending of their love. And you saw Lisa with a man, and after that she's standing there by herself all alone. The next scene, Jisoo is in a field with blue flowers, the color blue represents hope, and Jisoo is holding a broken hourglass, and if you look closer, the sand is not actually falling, the sand is coming back which means she's trying to turn back time and hoping that their love can still be fixed. And then Rose is in two scenes, the first one is she's happy with that guy, and the second is destroying the guitar that contains their memories and love. And the chorus part where they were dancing, you can see at their background saying "Born alone, die alone" but they're still looking for love. And the next scene, Lisa is destroying a car, and the car represents their love. And then there's Jennie, in that scene she's crazy because of love, but there's no doctor because there's no cure for lovesick(actually, when they released this mv, in this scene Jennie have 2 roles, crazy and a nurse, but then they edited this and remove the scenes of the nurse because some nurses complained about this something like that, just search it for details) The next scene is again Rose in two scenes, she's with that guy again and they're painting their love, and the other scene is Rose crying in a bed and destroying their paintings. And Jisoo is either running away from love or chasing love. The chorus part shows us their friendship, that even without love, they have each other. The next scene is Rose painting the pink wall(love) with black, and she's crying in a bath tub, and Jisoo is in a pool, and behind her was a "nothing" sign means she's left with nothing. And the last scene is where they're united, and happy with their friendship.

It's also my favourite of theirs. I wasn't really a fan of the ddu-ddu derivatives, so I'm really glad they completely changed things up for this one. I really like that the song sounds so happy, and then the lyrics are deeply sad (we were born to be alone) but with a glimmer of hope (but we're still looking for Love).

YG has very high demands on its artists. When the girls first came to the agency, they were 14-15 years old, they signed a contract with strict conditions and all these years were trained in singing, dancing, rap, etc.
Every month they take an exam - solo performance, dance and group performance, those who did not pass the exam left the agency. It's like a show with one exception, you fight for your right to go on stage, but not everyone succeeds, some people stay at the agency for decades as interns, never going on stage.
Even now that they have become idols, Blackpink has strict restrictions. Most often, under the contract, they can not start a romantic relationship before the end of the contract. Jennie was in big trouble when rumors surfaced about her relationship with EXO's Kai. However, now there are rumors that she is dating G-Dragon from Big Bang.

A little huge comment with a few fun facts about the girls, but first of aaaaall: you're one of my favorite "reactionists" on yt and I just found your yesterday! Yeah, it's cool lostening to music teachers, professional rappers, dancers and stuff like that react and praise our girls, sure. But even better is someone who just goes "No, mam! Not allowed! This beat is disgusting! STAHP!" and enters existential crisis mode, cause that's how people react to awesome new things! I'm living vicariously through you cause I've been about Kpop for a decade, and by now I'm almost numb to most things cause I've seen sooooooo much already, but once in a while things like BP and LiLi's dance videos will make my brain implode again and make me feel what I felt watching my first Kpop video (GD ❤ - Heartbreaker), but your reactions are so raw and pure emotional bliss, I already adore you!!!!!! My favorite reaction is when people look almost disgusted cause it's like when we see a cute baby or animal and we have that primal instinct to... squish it or eat it cause it's so fucking cute!!! Makes no sense but hey, humans amirite?! Now, about the girls' english: only Jisoo isn't fluent in english. Jennie lived in New Zealand for 5 years when she was younger; Rosé was born in NZ and moved to Australia; Lisa was born in Thailand and learned english there.
The reason thwir songs are so much "deeper" than other kpop groups' is cause they're allowed to write songs. But in BP's case, they get extra rope cause of their success overseas. YG, as bad as they were found to be recently, was very encouraging of their groups to express their personalities in the lyrics. Big Bang and 2NE1 (especially CL - before YG did her sooooo dirty) are great examples of that cause in that era, we had them doing things that were even censored in music shows, while SM, JYP and others were micromanaging every aspect of the idols' lives and careers, making them fit the mold necessary to sell as much as possible in their lifespan till the next new shiny debut group would claim their spot. But that's not to say BP has it easy, not at all. The members had serious injuries during practice or shows and would have to keep going cause of their contract. Kpop unfortunately it's still a horrible aaaaaaawful industry, from the dlave contracts, to idol bullies, to sexual harassment or more within the company, to the sasaeng fans to the ridiculous choices of censorship in the broadcasting channels, to so much more. I hope this changes more and more each day.

Sadly I'm familiar with YG as a company during 2ne1 years, and kpop on a whole is quite sad to say the least when it comes to contracts and the standards they hold these idols to is just insane to think about.
