    The Mega Bot typically uses 12 Volt Lead Acid Motorcycle Batteries. Although, in theory, you could use any type of battery. The heavy Lead Acid was chosen because, we wanted to build momentum for bashing through walls and increasing traction when towing vehicles.

    I know this is an older video, but I will ask anyways and hope for an answer.
    I have build one on a much small scale. This problem I have is when turning on hard floors. It will drag one side or the other depending on what way I am turning.
    Is that be nature of this type of design or is there something I am missing. I'll turn the right wheels forward and the left backwards and it will turn but still drags one side. I'm sure it would be less noticeable on softer terrain. I almost feel like I heard yours doing the same thing.
    Awesome build and video!

    The most useful part is running on snow, it is good to clean snow in winter time, and maybe other applications (lawn moving, etc.).
    Anyway, thumbs up for this mega one.

      Robot Marketplace has starter kits available that come with motors, electronics and wheels. As for the structural components, you could use wood, though if you plan on using it for anything high-stress I would suggest using stainless steel or even alloy steel. You can find that at OnlineMetals.

      You think a remote operated vehicle that can breach a brick wall or tow a Hummer is a toy?

    • @Quadromodo
      @Quadromodo Před 8 lety +3

      It think it's kickass but I think of bots as autonamous thats all.

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber Před 8 lety +1

      Ching Hanson
      But to call it a toy simply because it's not autonomous is a false dichotomy and a faulty generalization.

    • @Quadromodo
      @Quadromodo Před 8 lety

      Ok it's not a toy but is it a bot? Quote Cambridge dictionary "a computer program that works automatically, especially one that searches for and finds information on the internet:"

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber Před 8 lety +1

      Ching Hanson
      Quoting that same dictionary:
      "a mechanical device that works automatically or by computer control:", so I think you may have the wrong definition...
      Even then, the word "Robot" is a term that has essentially grown beyond its definition.
      Besides, if you want to argue semantics, technically Robot really means forced labor.
