It was just days after the destruction of Earth and her many colonies and outposts. The Cataclysm, as it became known, had nearly extinguished humanity’s spark from the universe.
Billions and Billions died. But some survived, less than 1 million souls. Grieving the loss of their friends, their families, their homes, their species, and Earth..

Impressive story telling. I was so glad to not hear "The road ahead was going to be long and hard" multiple times in a story.
I’ve been noticing that too. Some of these stories use it once every 5 minutes or less.

The humans got soo angry with what happened to them.. they built a deathstar... without that pretty egregious flaw since the humans had seen that movie
Of course it didn’t have that flaw. We learned from the Empire’s mistake.
So I am dying for more of this tale!!

What a sad story.
Hum, really should take a prisoner for military intel purposes.
It's possible prisoners were taken the first time, but they couldn't be made to talk. Not to mention, there would be a need for blood that would have to be satisfied. That happens.
And they also found another race fighting the enemy, so they might be able to provide the needed info.
This reminds me of the Antha. In All the Way Back

I think you made a mistake in how quickly the fleet was ready for battle. 15 minutes is nowhere near enough to get people out of deep-freeze and make them aware of the situation, let alone move so many people between ships. Given a population of ~5M which would mean ~1M on each ship and say ~1/3 are non-combatants that's about a million you need to get transferred. Without everybody being ready for such a move and massive teleport.
Would also agree with another poster in terms of taking prisoners for intel. Sounds likely the rescued aliens will be able to tell little about the wraiths, let alone the locations of whatever home systems they have so some info can possibly be found one way or another from prisoners. - Even if they refuse to say anything examination of live wraiths can give something of their background.
However other than those points a well written set up and good battle details. Now communications with the new friends could be an issue - at least their similar enough the two races are able to live on each other's world's. Looking forward to seeing the other two chapters. :D
I'm the author. I should have explained it better but they were starting the process and not actually getting them into combat. Only the ones currently out of cryo sleep were in the battle.
