b. Testing for Phosphorus (P):
Extract Phosphorus: Place another soil sample into a clean beaker and add distilled water. Stir to ensure proper mixing.
Add Phosphorus Reagent: Add the Phosphorus reagent to the mixture.
Observe Precipitation: If Phosphorus is present, a precipitate (solid particles) will form in the solution. Measure the turbidity (cloudiness) or compare the intensity of the precipitate with a standard chart to determine the Phosphorus level.
c. Testing for Potassium (K):
Extract Potassium: Place a fresh soil sample in a beaker and mix it with distilled water.
Add Potassium Reagent: Add the Potassium-specific reagent to the solution.
Observe Color Change: Similar to the Nitrogen test, the solution will change color if Potassium is present. Compare this with a standard color chart to estimate the Potassium content.
