  • The suspension in the seat bottoms of my Triumph TR-6 are broken and worn out. The replacement parts for these are north of $100. Per seat. Not wanting to spend that kind of money on seat parts, I found some MGB seat bottom suspension parts for $16 per seat. The dimensions are close and with a little ingenuity and a few spare parts from the old seat bottoms I think I can make it all work. That's kind of what this channel is all about: taking old cars and getting them back on the road on a budget which usually involves scavenging for parts and making it up as I go along. The fun is in having an idea and trying it out regardless of success or failure, its how I learn what works and what doesn't and how to use that knowledge going forward.

You can actually use a series of coat hangers to fix this. As a custom upholstery I have done it personally.

That’s an awesome hack! I will store that one away for future use!
