Before starting a threading job, it must be taken into account that the feed must be equal to the pitch of the thread to be built. The master spindle receives its movement from the head shaft through a gear transmission. By setting the ratio of this transmission to the appropriate value, the master spindle can be given the appropriate turning speed to achieve the advance corresponding to the step to be carved. Consequently, if the step to be built does not appear in the threading table of the lathe; determine the combination of gears with the necessary gear ratio and place the gears in said transmission. For this, the wheel train calculation must be carried out to be able to thread on the lathe and a series of case variants are presented depending on the relationship that
exists between the step to be carved and the step of the spindle.
