BMW E38 740il Blower Motor Replacement Video 1 of 4

This is part 1 of a 4 part video group showing what I had to do to replace the blower motor and blower resistor on a 2000 BMW E38 740il. I'm a self-taught mechanic that works on my own older vehicles. Hopefully, these videos will help someone that might be in the same position.

Hi Rusty, may I ask why you had to replace the blower motor? Mine is currently blowing max cold air when I turn on. I have replaced 3-4 ac control switch and it is still doing the same. Do you suggest replacing the whole blower unit or can the resistor be the culprit?

I'm extremely sorry for not replying to you sooner. I put this video up and got side-tracked with other things and didn't read the comments. Mine quit blowing. Sometimes you could fiddle with the controls and it would blow a little air for a while then quit. My thought was that it was either a bad blower or resistor but since you had to take the dash off to get to either of them, I would replace both just to be sure and not have to do the same process again if I didn't replace the bad part.
