he had it all, soul, heart, technique, harmony, beautiful melodically, innovation, composer..if i missed anything he definitely had it ..rest in peace🙏💔🎶
You put this little man in front of a piano and he becomes a giant. One of the most inspirational pieces I've ever had the pleasure to interpret in my 40 years of playing the piano.
this little man was one of the greatest of all. His fingers were breaking when playing !! I'm almost crying each time i'm listening to his music.. RIP and timeless respect
This music video of Michel Petruciani playing looking up is an awesome combination of beauty. I know I have watched it hundreds of times now, and I always look forward to hearing it every day. Thank you Michel Petruciani, you were a gift to the world of music, and you are truly missed.
Michael hated to say goodbye! He didn't have to, he can never be forgotten, neither his strong clear strong piano playing nor his humble personality. Just reading through all the comments shows how many different emotions he was capable of conveying from a dimension of its own. This melody is eternal and I just play it and play it and…. RIP Michael.
quelle magnifique version studio de Looking up !!!!
This composition just wrapped around my head, heart and soul, the first time I heard it. It is so stunningly beautiful and we feel blessed that Michel gave the world so much. I feel humbled to have witnessed him perform twice 👍❤️
You make my heart sing, put things into perspective. Make me realise, just how wonderful life is, and can be. I miss you friend, and always will. Rest in peace. Where ever you may be.
Immensely respect this man! Appreciate life, as he appreciated it! Fond memory you, Michel!
Just discovered this amazing artist, Michel Petrucciani, purely by accident, or was it fate? I was turning the radio dial and heard Renato Carosone performing Tu Voi Fare L' Americano, so I naturally stopped to enjoy. At the break, the DJ stated he was featuring famous Italian pianists. He described the next artist, Michel Petrucciani as French born but of Italian parents. He played Looking Up and I immediately fell in love with it. I used to be a big jazz fan, especially of upbeat and Brazilian jazz. This song immediately reminded me of Spyro Gyra. Now that I am exploring Michel Petrucciani, I am in awe. What a talent and a gift to all of us. So sad that he had such a difficult life, but so happy for him that he was able to live out his passion throughout his brief life of 36 years.
I once heard his solo piano concert in my hometown, Helsinki. It was really incredible - I truly admire and respect this man. Thank you for your life work. R.I.P.
You are my hero. Because, I have a rare disease and I want to be a jazz pianist. When I think about give up playing piano. Always I get a new power from you. If I can meet you.. thank you michel
When I first saw Petrucciani before hearing him play, I thought he is just another one of those guys that get extra credit from people just because he's disabled. Boy was I wrong. Petrucciani was a man of profound musical genius.
According to wikipedia, Michel lived with pain all his life. Playing the piano made his arms hurt. He only lived for 36 years. And yet, this video is an example of pure happiness. If anyone needs inspiration to make stuff happen in their lives, this is a must-see.
Just moving and beautiful! I had the enormous pleasure to see Michel Petrucciani in Hamburg in Roger Willemsen’s talk show , as a kind of his musical side kick, WILLEMSENS WOCHE.
I met him many times at the hôtel where i work. Each time he was absolute kind, so gentil...a Real sweet gentleman. WE miss you so Michel 😘😘😘♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️and this track IS just magnifique

This song has the joy of life that Petrucciani had inside ... a beautiful melody that makes you think: but how big was this little man?
